Just want to add: some unlocking sites say they supply unlock code, how come you do not supply a code and instead supply this?
What if the phone is already hardspl'd? What is the difference between 2.32.etc and 1.00JADE?
the Hard-SPL included is no different from the one on the Jade thread.
codes come from databases "acquired" from providers.
any chance anyone knows how to unlock mitac mio a701 ? i got it from ebay for spare parts for my dad's mio, but we never used it, so its in the drawer now, locked to orange Israel. might as well sell it.

you're wrong. I just used olipro's package and it worked just fine.
You must be doing something wrong.
Follow his tip. I had the same "data corrupted" so I downloaded and manually installed hardspl then used olipro's package from button 2 onward.
worked fine.
Be sure to have internet connection and no antivirus/firewall just in case.

Here's a good list for you:
1. Find out how to connect and explore your device's file structure.
2. Find out what a "cab" file is.
3. Learn to install/uninstall cab files.
4. Browse phone settings.
5. Read FAQ sections and understand what is a ROM, what are the dangers associated with "flashing". Decide if you're ready for it or not.
6. Drop in the "development and hacking" forum, see if there are any programs you find useful. Try them out, you'll learn a lot by installing/using/uninstalling stuff.

When i try to install a ROM, it goes to a Red, Yellow, Blue, White screen, then it goes to a white screen and it gets stock at 0% then on the computer says ROM update failed...

Wow! What a noob. (and I'm not saying that to insult). You have a long way to go before you ask those kinds of questions. It's like my 8 year old asking about the big bang theroy. I can answer, but he won't understand.
I'm gonna say the same thing as eveybody else, READ as much as you can before asking a bunch of questions. You won't understand the answers you get untill you do.
One more tip. Part of my job is training people how to use diagnostic equipment. I always leave them with a 4 word rule to continue learning the equipment after the training. And that is..... Push The Damn Buttons.

If you dont find an answer there, then there is NO fix for you. We call this error the ID-10T error and its unfortunately unrecoverable, and thusly, causes irreversible damage....... especially to your reputation here at XDA-Developers

Research the HARDSPL issue first You cant flash roms without first modding your bootloader as it prevents you from installing non-official ROMS........

Can somebody tell me if I can unlock(clear SIM-Lock or operator-lock) Xperia X1 with a firmware change? Or do I need something else? Can you give me a link to it? I saw the link above(with ROMs), I know that I can flash X1 with these ROMs using ROM Update Utility(somewhy called Kovsky) and I saw also a topic with Hard-SPL, but don't know what's its purpose.
Especially I would like to know if it's possible to unlock X1, locked by english operator called "3"? Did somebody tried it? I've heard that it's almost impossible.
I saw a link with unlock for money, but would be nice if there was a way to do it by myself.

I find using other people their work to make money off it offensive. Would you people donate every penny to either the creator of the unlocker(s) or XDA-Developers, sure - no reason to stop a good cause. But the selfishness of selling it as your own doing is simply appalling.
That, is in no way nonsense.
So, I'd love to be proven wrong and finding out that you're doing this with tools you created yourself. In that case, you shouldn't advertise it on XDA.
If it's not the above - you don't belong on XDA.

i m using xperia x1... now there is some problem... i cant send a msg to any body when i press the send button its showing one notification
it says:
your text msg can not be sent. be certain that your service center address is correct in settings and then try sending the msg again.
and when i m trying to check the text msg setting its showing error also.
it can not read setting from the network.
is there any kind of unlock software or some thing.?

Start, Settings, System, Device Information... Call Duration. How do you wipe those figures from your handset folks? Must be a way somehow but how?!
Please gimme a clue cus i'm trying to sell my handset 'as new' and even though i've only used the phone for about 2 hours total, in and outgoing, it'd still be nice to have no comebacks with it.
Besides... someone else might need this info for some other reason to so if you know... shout loudly please!!!!!!!!
By the way... ROM changing doesn't do a thing. Looks like it's part of the handset's brain so... well i dunno now actually! HELP!!! lol

There are 3 command you can enter:

These do the following
[email protected]?1 - Shows Outbound time in HEX
[email protected]?0 - Shows Inbound time in HEX
[email protected]=270F,270F - Reset both timers to zero.

You might need security unlock or Hard SPL at least to do this.
So if you have HardSPL already, you possibly need security unlock. Security unlock is still been worked on at the moment, so you could be stuck for a while.
Sorry, but I don't own a Blackstone to test on.

1. As you'll have noticed, i'm new to all this side of things as far as XDA goes so i was unaware of that.

I thought the same. Mine is from T-mobile NL but is not simlocked. Tested it with another sim and it works like a charm. Maybe the voda ones are locked not sure though.

So is there a way to find out if my X1 is unlocked by the manufacturer ( has never been locked ) or by someone else - "hacked to be unlocked" - like it's done here...And if so, can I check this out ? Am I gonna lose the "patch", "unlocker" (dont know how to call it) after flashing and using different roms from here ? Can I save the settings or check what had been done with the device. Thanks in advance...

actually, it's not necessary, our software lets you verify whether you're unlocked anyway, and the device will never relock itself.
Yesterday I used this tool to remove a SIM-Lock. It did work perfectly!
I also removed the security lock. Is it possible to re-lock it? Would be necessary for warranty issues.
Playing around with my Raphael and several unlocker tools,
the hermes unlocker worked for me....!!!
Now i can use it with every provider i want.... cool
I already flashed my phone with TAEL Rom.... (for your info...)

I wouldn't recommend that anyone go flashing unlockers for different devices-that's a quick way to brick your phone. If this just leads to a code, that's fine, but there are threads at xda where you can get a free unlock code.
