HTC Android Dev Phone update

Well i was going to grab the camera app from the dev build as i am on Jf 1.51
Well went to there site and i see
"Attention!
This update applies to the Android Dev Phone for developers only. The Android Dev Phone with its unique color and pattern can be seen here. This update will not work on the T-Mobile G1 or any other Android powered phone."
the files name is
signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-img-150275.zip
This isnt the file that was on there website befor it was
ADP1.5_signed-dream_devphone-ota-147201
.
So my questions are
1.) What is this new Dev img
2.) Will it really mess up my tmobile g1? I thought only different was firmware
Does the HTC ADP build contain the HTC Camera app? If that's what you want then flash a Cyanogen build, it has it built in.
Don't really know what that update will do to your phone, I wouldnt risk it for a feature already in another ROM.
yea the Cyanogen build does have it and alot of other stuff that i would like to delete from thats why im still on jf.
And i wasnt going to flash the htc dev jsut wanted to know because I flashed the old 1.5 version and now i see this one so i was wondering

What would you want to delete from Cyanogen? It's just like JF but with auto Apps2SD and some dinut stuff...
teeter , T-Mobile IM application, Amazon MP3, replace the launcher hate 5x6 icon spacing, and need to add some default audio change cpu back to stock for battery.
Is it possible to just delete and repack update i know for apk but what about adding audio plus i would hate to do that every time there was an update

Yeah, just resign the apk, or modify after flash.
Teeter and Amazon mp3 just need their apk's removed.
Battery life is hardly an issue, but you can use SetCPU (its free on these forums)
I think audio can remain on you sdcard, so it's unaffected by ROM flashes.
I think you can push back the launcher from JF to get the old spacing back.
ok on audio is there anyway to have it on the phone or can i push it to system/sd/media or something like that. I have an issue were if the phone is mounted my ring tones wont sound and thats because there on fat32 sd.
thanx for all the help

I've heard someone say will work on ext when I was skimming thorugh the Cyanogen ROM thread, so I don't know how accurate it is...

Rosie Notification Bar

Is it possible to get the Rosie Notification Bar on a regular Android ROM without having to flash a theme or a Hero ROM?
You can replace images in the rom of your choice (I believe they will be in framework.apk), sign and flash or you can use MetaMorph from Stericson.
Good luck.
How do you sign folders?

You could just get a hero mm and only apply the framworks.apk then reboot.
Do you think you can post the link for the Framework.apk because my phones being an idiot and when I download the ROM it won't open it says it didn't download correctly and it won't open it ASTRO File Manager I get some error about Java. And what else does the FrameWork change? About the signing its for when I take stuff from one ROM and stuff from another and make my own ROM that's whyy... thanks.
Grrrr @ OP
DO NOT download hero rom and apply parts of it. You CAN NOT apply 1.5 rom parts to 1.6 rom and expect it to work unless you know exactly what you're doing. DO NOT try to sign and push anything unless you know exactly what you're doing. Do not do anyting unless you know exactly what you're doing.
For crying out loud....there is so much info out there that it's impossible not to stumble upon it. Here's my last attempt:
Go to the Market, buy and install MetaMorph from Sterickson (and yes, do buy it, don't be cheap)
Go to the Market and install andExplorer.
Go to this thread and read up on MetaMorph
Go to this thread and pick up whatever mod you need (including a black bar).
Apply and enjoy.
If you want to make your own rom you really shouldn't. Making anything requires a lot of searching and you're clearly not capable of that.
If you want to sign your own packages then do a little research such as this: http://tinyurl.com/y95sj3p
And it will answer any and all of your question.

Just some Noob questions thanks!:D

Okay so before i mess with my phone again..lol
i rooted my phone with Fresh Kitchen
what does that put my phone at? lol
like ive been looking around is my phone rooted with 2.1 or whats the deal?

you are still at 1.5
read up on how to flash roms :]
okay! thanks man got a link? or shall i just google like ive been doing hahah
Very first thing you should do is.. Turn off phone.
Hold down home + power button.. Scroll down to backup/restore.
Then do a nano backup... Not the one with ext.
Then boot your phone back up and open up your sdcard on your comp and go to nandroid/file inside it/ then copy that file to your computer. Always keep it safe.
okay will do!
since im on 1.5 how would i put on 2.1 or whatever..lol
i see some bad ass themes around lol

Here is a list of roms.. I prefer damage control 2.07.2 or fresh 2.0d
Download the file and save the .zip file to your sd card.. NOT IN A FOLDER
Boot into recovery and then go to wipe.. Wipe factory/data and dalvik
Press back then go to flash from sdcard.. Find the rom you put on there, click it and watch it go.
After its done reboot your phone and wait.
After that i would prefer reading on how to customize it from there..
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BACK A NANO BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING
alright!!!
thanks man!!!
Damn! these forums are very helpful!<3

idkwtf your talking about theres a billion themes for 1.5
ohh, and fyi, its 2.1, not 2.0
lol where can i find them?!?!
umm..im a noob at this just started yesterday with this root ****..i thought i was tight **** when i figure to get free apps with APK hahah now im moving on to this
um..recovery im using Freshkitchen..in my sd card recovery is
recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2?!?! lol
lend me some links for the 1.5 lol plz and thanks i cant find any..
Recovery would be the place you get to when you press and hold home+power at the same time.
And you should be flashing a rom from that.
ooo so when im pressin home and turn on its that green and black screen i get? aight aight i see
well thats it i guess lol its whatever is stock to Fresh Kitchen i guess.
Download DamageControl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656690. It will be in the very first post.. Boot into recovery.. POWER DOWN....HOLD DOWN HOME+POWER...
Follow the steps someone already said. It just sounds like its a bad download. If you look at the ROM Wiki and scroll down to 2.1 ROMs. There are all the ROMs on this forum.
Also never, ever try to flash anything made for GSM...Always make sure it is for CDMA---Sprint. If you do you phone is screwed.
And like everyone else says Nandroid is your best friend..Well, next to this website.
The only problem with that link is when i click download its taking a while to load then it says connection has timed out..
for the love of god and all that is holy stay in these forums.
do not go searching other places for ROMs.
Why do I say this? Because there is a GSM version of the hero and if you flash a GSM rom then you will fry your phone.
I don't want to see you back here in a a week and be like... "HELP! so yeah, I flashed a rom on my hero and it won't turn on. lol. how can I fix it?"
I will save you the trouble of starting a thread. You won't be able to fix it.

stock android lock screen

looking for android stock locking screen. i tried the on rom manager and it does not work is there a zip file around or provide a link
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=873160
Those are for DJ05 and after flash first boot will be longer. If you are not running a theme now just grab the stock one.
good day.

Thanks, needed to find this. Sometimes searching through the cruft for what you need is harder than it seems.
Okay, not what I thought it was but it could come in handy.
Still need the AOSP lockscreen. I am not sure whether or not it is changed in the theme I am using or not but the all I can see is the buttons for unlock and mute with no oval thing around them, trying to bring that back.

[REQ] Serendipity

Hey guys, I put a honeycomb theme on my phone before realizing how much stuff I would have to do to make it look good. I decided to go back to the stock serendipity, only to find that it wasnt quite all there [lock screens, act stayed with the theme]. I was wondering if anyone has or could make a stock serendipity theme so people could simply flash that if they dont like they're changed them, or just wanted to go back. I ended up just reflashing the whole rom, and I know there is a better way. Thanks in advance!

+1 for directions, I had to re-flash a few days ago, and i couldn't find anything on how to backup / restore the stock Serendipity "theme"
I'm thinking you dl the full rom. open with winrar. take out the mentioned files and then do an adb push command to your phone.
Look inside the .zip theme that you flashed.
Whatever's in there, copy over the corresponding Serendipity files, and flash.
my phone can not be detected by computer anymore after flashing this !!!!! help pls
