If I read correctly, its basically a new radio, which you need to flash. See the topic the poster posted before me about it for details.

FM Radio

HI
sorry if this question is a persitent pest, but I've search the Kaiser forum for an answer without finidng anything
I have installed Dutty's WM6.1_Official_5.2.19209_1_58_16_27 ROM and one of the installed Apps is 'FM Radio' - it opened OK - with the headphones in - but it would not find any stations.
Do yo know if it will work?

It DOES NOT work! Our devices don't have the necessary hardware. Don't know how you searched, but there is a long discussion on this and many threads. Here's one for you to read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359329&highlight=fm+radio
Dutty was trying to get it to work. Had some success too with the software side of things. But unless there has been a major breakthrough it remains just that - software that works but there are hardware issues and indeed the connections for a suitable aerial may never be possible. I am pessimistic on ever getting this working for that reason.
Mike
There are threads on this - just use the google search with Kaiser FM radio and they will be listed. I will therefore close this thread.
EDIT: I see I was beaten to it by the poster above. Closing now.

cabs for WM6.0 OK for 6.1?

I've finally decided to move up to WM6.1 on my TyTN II.
My question is, would the cab files I currently have installed on my unit (with WM6.0) still work once I upgrade to 6.1?
The most important programs I want re-installed are primarily the TouchFLO upgrades (TouchFLO cube, Random Access, Task Manager etc) and the media upgrades (HTC Album and Camera; TCPMP).
Also, am I right in assuming all the standard programs that were installed in my phone when it was new (Mobile Office, WMP, Adobe Reader, etc) will also be in the 6.1 installation pack? I'll be using the WM6.1 I downloaded from the HTC e-Club site.
'appreciate inputs
TIA

Not sure, but probably most of the yes, it was the case when I did it. You would need to reinstall these cabs because programs can't be correctly restored when doing a ROM upgrade, even with programs like Sprite Backup.

Task Manager, HTC Album and Camera are included. I am not using the others. If you do a search on the forum and to be sure, you will probably find these programs updated and also in 6.1 cooked ROMs.

Yes, in some cases updated versions will be installed plus a few improvements that you can find here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375979 and by searching. I didn't miss any previous WM 6.0 programs after the upgrade.
I strongly recommend a full backup before upgrading.
I hope you don't use GPS then

I don't use any of those cabs but some of them seem to have WM 6.1 compatible versions from searching here. You do realise that many people have had issues with GPS performance since upgrading to WM 6.1 from 6.0. Personally I wish I'd held off until HTC had really sorted these problems out (they still haven't) but now I've done it there's no going back (unless I want to send the phone back to HTC for them to flash it to the original configuration or risk voiding the warranty if I do it myself).

Thats where I got mine from and yes those programs are still there, as mentioned already, some are improved.
Further to the suggestion anoano made about backing up, make sure your backup software is up to date enough to be able to restore the files you need to a newer OS. Some older versions have problems with restoring to a different OS than that used to create the backup. Check the backup software makers website if in doubt.
most cabs are universal among WM5,6 and 6.1. if they weren't then the description, filename or faq would mention if it was only for a certain version of WM
Thanks guys. This forum is the best!
Flying Kiwi, you're now two for two with me I wouldn't have known about the GPS issue if not for this forum. What GPS performance issues do you mean? I don't really use the GPS, but it would be a bummer to eventually need it, and for it not to work. I mean, I did pay for the hardware right? Any signs of HTC working this out?
gps works but it can be slow at times whether starting up,talking with satellites, etc. most of the gps issues are either applications issues or the radio

Not sure what that means, sounds like a supermarket special offer gone wrong

The ones that are also detailed in this forum, both in this thread *Hopeless* GPS after 6.1 Update? and elsewhere. This thread covers it quite well (apart from the reference to quick GPS being the culprit even though a radio change makes a big difference).

I think the first step is to get them to even acknowledge it as an issue. Let us know what HTC say to you about it (or the carrier if it's a carrier provided device). Just mention exactly what you've told us here that you're considering using the WM 6.1 update but that you have read online about major problems with GPS performance afterwards.
good work with this post; very helpful.

Sorry, must've said that wrong
What I meant was, that's my second post that you answered
I'll check out that post you mentioned and will contact HTC as well.
Much thanks!

Changing TouchFlo3D Theme

First off, sorry for posting a question that seems so common that it would already be answered somewhere on the forums. However, I have been searching for three days and can not find an answer to this question: How to change the theme of TouchFlo3D.
Here is a link to a theme I would like to use:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-dirty-paper-theme.html
The DiamondT3D Config did not seem to work correctly. I assume it only functions properly for the HTC Touch Diamond (I am using a Kaiser).
Is there an existing thread or Wiki entry to covers this topic?
Thanks in advance.

Since the Kaiser does not have Touch Flo 3D, I would say that trying to put a theme and config program written for T3D on it is rather fruitless.
There has been an effort to put T3D on the Kaiser ,but I think the effort has all but been abandoned, as people move on to actual T3D phones.

It stands to reason taht the theme you're trying to put on your device is VGA, while your device is QVGA, which means that it won't work. Also, if there were themes available for TF3D for the Kaiser, there would be a thread created for them. If/When that time comes feel free to ask your question there. For now this thread will be closed.

i think you should actualy PLEASE READ and more importantly SEARCH
The cab found in that link replaces the default aGPS server settings to the ones found on nokia devices which are more maintained and provide an extremely fast lock!
try to use the option "Other NMEA Reciever"!

i use tt 7.450.9028 and have tried t-back's gps settings, jcepsi's cab for registry tweaks on gps (XDA JCEpsi2005 GPS Lag Fix Raphael.cab), CleanGPSData, and FF's agps settings. I went from a cold lock in 10 minutes, to 3 minutes, to now within 30 seconds using FF's cab. It definitely helped me out. (Thanks A LOT!) i also use htc gps tool and chartcross gpstest to initiate the gps first.
