I have seen calendar and contacts synching on Hero ROM when i put it on MT3G, but that gives another problem so i had to restore back to Cyan 4.0.4 with Hero theme works really good. I d like to use this theme if i can get exchange and contacts calendar synched in this some way. Is there anyway to get this with out getting anything other app.

Is this possible? Like I want the Birthday to be sync with the rest of the info. Doesn't seem to have a slot in the default contacts app. On Cyanogenmod 4.2.3.1.
In my experience with the G1 (have had it since initial release) there has never been an option to add the birth date.
I've only seen that in the Hero contact app. you can always use a Hero rom for the G1, but even still, that doesn't seem to sync the Birthdates with google. I
've installed plenty of Hero roms over and over trying to look for a halfway decent one, and I've always had to manually enter the birthdates.
Until I get a mass confirmation of a Hero rom working great, I'm going to stick with CM.

A way round it is to add birthdays to your gmail contacts then add 'contacts birthdays and events calendar' to your google calendar, then they will all appear in your calendar on your G1.
I hope they fix this.
I can't accept that Google can't..
It is essential info.

I think I read somewhere that HTC Sync will not work with the CM6 ROM running froyo. Is there an application that will sync my outlook contacts and calendar appointments with that ROM? Is there a different 2.2 ROM that would better suit my needs? I am kind of lost without my appointment book, but I really want to change up the ROM to check out the new features.
why not just sync your outlook to your google account? isn't it kind of lame that your contacts and calendar were only syncing when you plugged a usb cable into one specific computer?
since your on outlook, are you talking to an exchange server? because I think android has built in exchange syncing.
and its unlikely there will be a 2.2 rom featuring sense any time soon if ever.
Last I heard they were waiting for the legend to get 2.2 with sense before they could attempt to get it on the hero. I love having google calendars
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
ok here is the thing...
i installed Superfroyo 8.4.6 rom on my htc legend today, and i have this problem that i dont have phone contacts (or My Contacts), i can only see Google Contacts
i dont care my numbers gets synced with google but:
i want to join the contacts with facebook contacts so i'll have their pictures from facebook.
which i can.. but then i want to use other app for showing my contacts (like Dialer One) and it only shows the pic from google and not from facebook, in stock contacts i see facebook pics..
in stock htc rom and in cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2 where i had phone contacts i could see the facebook pic in every app..
if i go to contacts, then click menu and 'display options', i can see only my google account and no phone contacts..
if i add a contact it doesnt save it to phone.
does anyone knows how to fix it????????
ohh i forgot to say
that i also installed an app called youlu Address Book and i thought it will recognize the facebook pics but its not..
however when i press menu - settings and then on switch account i can see:
Mobile <0 Contacts>
and my google account <174 Contacts>
i swithced to Mobile and tried to create a new contact but it sends me to the regular add contacts and saves it to my google account..
yeah i had this problem with my phone too. i dont know why but all the roms that have that froyo interface ie not eclair all dont show sim contacts. its really annoying but i never found a fix for it, so all i did was go onto my google account online and just put in all my sim contacts there (i just put my sim in an old phone to see my contacts rather than putting an eclair rom back on, and then going back to froyo)
sorry dude i dunno how else to fix it besides that
Hi there,
I read through a couple of threads and found that some people have the same issues with the stock calendar app as me. I mean the one that comes from Samsung and can be found in stock rom and in overcome. I bought the tab for my business.
Unfortunately, the samsung calendar app is pure garbage to say it friendly. Not all calendars show up, they all have the same color and if you add an appointment in your tab, edit it in google calendar on your PC you mysteriously end up with 2 appointments on your tab.
Yesterday, I switched to CM7 to check out how the calendar works in that mod. If CM7 by technomancer wouldn't be still in beta I'd stay on it for obvious reasons. The calendar works perfect and like a charm. All gmail calendars show up, even the ones from my wife. They all have the colors I selected in gmail calendars on my pc. The syncing works perfect.
I was wondering if someone could port that app into the Overcome Rom, because I have no clue how to do that?
Google should do quality assurance to make sure their functions work right.
Any help would be greatly appreciated because I use pure calendar widget and it gets the entries from the calendar app. Calengoo, is okay but the widgets suck.
I am willing to donate some money for a working port
Well I tried a little bit around and got some things working. I took a calendar and googlecalendarsyncadapter.apk from a 2.3.3 aosp rom and copied it into system/app fixed permissions and did a reboot.
Guess what the calendar is working. You'll get all different colors and the sync works totally right. Unfortunately there's only one problem. The calendar will crash when you select what calendars to sync...you have enough time to select them but then it crashes. I think this has something to do with the emailprovider.apk from samsung. I changed it to an aosp version but then the calendar crashes all the time.
There have to be done some changes on the emailprovider.apk to get it all going but I have no clue what it could be. It seems there is a limitation on how many calendars can be synced.
