I downloaded the app. Better keyboard and download a few skins for it. i uninstalled it because the skins would not change. After unistalling and even rebooting i kept getting the defalt better keyboard when typing. Anybody know why?
You have selected the skin right?
Settings>Locale & text>Better Keyboard Settings> Better Keyboard skin
You don't need to restart after changing the skin.

Is it possible to skin the default phone dialer? I have trouble dialing with my thumb so I am wishing I can make the buttons bigger.
Check out SmartDial + Eten dialskin.
I like the Dr.Shultz skin on page 7.
Make sure to explore your device with Activesync. Go to \Windows and rename Mfc80u.dll to anything (like Mfc80u.dll.old) to fix the Pictures and Video issue.
Good luck!

Check out http://www.paulya.com/etenskins.htm he's got some nice skins for the Eten Dialer (not Default dialer)...
I'm using the 44TI. In the past I used one of his themes and had the matching dialer... i think its the vista grass b theme with the vista trans origin dialer skin
Thank you everyone, ETen is exactly what I was looking for.
I'm looking on how to skin the original keyboard that's part of the OS.This is the one where you can only switch between large or small keys and not a 3rd party keyboard since i already know what to do about resco keyboard and others.

anyone got in black?
The new Verizon version of the TouchPro includes a theme that has a working TF3D interface in landscape mode. Archy over in the Diamond theme forums posted a copy of the theme that will run on Diamonds and TouchPros.
Here's his post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2914105&postcount=1321
This has mostly been mentioned in the Diamond forum but I just installed this theme on my Fuze and it works great. (And faster than most other themes I've tried...)
i just want the landscape tf not the entire theme. I hope some one can get just the landscape tf soon.

Yeah, I tried pulling out the files to make just the landscape work but I didn't have any luck so I just installed the whole theme. I really like it so far...
is the landscape actually useful?
and do you install just like a normal theme

It's useful for me because I have my keyboard open a lot so it's nice to have more options when it's in that mode.
And, yes, it's just like any other theme. I installed it using Diamond TF3D Config, restored the default theme and then installed it again all without any problems.
Landscape only files
folks,
a little farther in the thread...he points out what files are needed for the landscape only piece...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2923578&postcount=1347. you should be able to create a theme with just these files to load through diamond config...or of course use total commander. hope this helps.

A little farther still he says that just copying those files won't work. The files in that list are just the graphics files that are needed for landscape mode, not any of the Mode9 files which control the functionality.
its a step in the right direction.. but toooo much grey.
give me time and v7 of my flip clock theme will in clude landscape tf3d
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can help me out, I have made a few mods to my HTC Diamond, and everything has been cool, until I ran SBP screenshot, after running it, it stuffed up my start menu to look like the following....
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/screen04hv8.png/1/w480.png[/
I did just have the standard black startmenu, small icons, with white text, and now look
:eek:
Its white on white with large icons, did a soft reset and still no good.
Please help me!!
Maybe go to Settings/Today and select another theme, click OK, return to Settings/Today and choose HTC Black again.
Hope this helps.
Hmmm, yeah I already tried that and no luck, it looks the same no matter which theme I have

try to change your font and font size back to normal
Decrease your font size or switch the classic "small" Start Menu
Thanks Guys!! I had to uninstall the font, it was fine after that.
I tried re-sizing it and it didnt do anything. I will try re-installing it and see how I go.
Thanks again

i've been having the same problem ever since I did a hard reset a couple of days ago, and no matter where I look, I can't find the setting to select the classic "small" start menu. any advice?
The contact name font size in the status Screen (when calling) suddenly became big & long names do not fit anymore. The font size was normal before and I have no idea what is exactly the problem. Anyone with the same issue? Any solutions?
Thanks
I have the same problem.... Ideas what could have caused this issue.
Actually, I didn’t install any new programs recently (from 2 months) and the problem appeared suddenly. That’s why it is very hard to link this problem to a software installed. Any ideas guyz?
Thanks
Bump..
This also happened to me when the device accidently hard reset
any ideas? Bruce?
thanks

Is it just in the dialer?
Are you on stock or custom ROM?
Have you played with the Font settings in Settings Tab\Personalize\Font?

It is just in the dialer as far as I can tell, it was in the drop down task list as well but then I changed a setting that made it smaller.
Yes, I have changed the font size under personalize
Stock ROM
thanks
The only thing different I did was run a value added installer that installed arabic and did a hard reset..
I looked around all over the registry and can't find anything. Any help would be appreciated!
My only suggestion would be to install a different dialer.
I too was unable to locate any font settings in the reg for the dialer. Sorry.

I was able to find the font for the call list, managed to make that smaller and play with the font however the in call screen I could not get to change.
2 questions:
Could you tell me the name in your registry for the default font for generally everything, is it helvectica neue ots or something like that? Should be under software/htc/smartdial (can't remember if it was local_machine or current_user.. left phone at the office so can't check)
I tried to download a dialer that is supposedly to the original topaz dialer however all it did was change my battery icon and the data symbol (G, 3g, E, H, etc), could you point me in the direction of the oem topaz dialer?
Thanks so much for your help
First install this dialer, if your font is still messed up I have included the reg setting you asked for.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\PHONE\SmartDial]
"ClrMainText"=dword:00000000
"ClrMainText_Sel"=dword:00ffffff
"ClrMatchBkd"=dword:00666666
"ClrMatchBkd_Sel"=dword:00ffffff
"ClrMatchText"=dword:00ffffff
"ClrMatchText_Sel"=dword:00666666
"ClrSubText"=dword:00333333
"ClrSubText_Sel"=dword:00ffffff
"FontFaceName"="Helvetica Neue OTS"
"FontSizeL"=dword:00000024
"FontSizeM"=dword:00000018
"FontSizeS"=dword:00000014
"FrameLineColor"=dword:00c8c8c8
"SpeedDialTextColor"=dword:00c8c8c8
"TalkTickCount"=dword:00001000

The smart dialer cab is the font settings in the registry.
No need to install, it was specific for ice2x01.
Should I just try installing the smart dialer cab then?
I appreciate all your help Bruce!
