inmy Country Only Works Gsm 850, Does Anybody How To Change The Band The Htc Diamond, Cause This Phone Is A Tri Band And Works With 900 Gsm.
Can Anybody Helpme Please????
You can change the band in Comm Manager. There is a tab called Band.
And only assuming you bought the appropriate device, since if you bought the European device, then you do not have the 850 support.

Which country's running 850 mhz ... I thought that band was reserved for GSM-R (GSM Rail private network) - Or at least it is in the UK !.
I believe some countries in south america uses the 850band, and the US. It is wise to read the specs when you buy a phone. the current diamonds (european, asian) do not support 850. It would have been a quad-band band phone, not a tri-band if that was the case. There will probably be a US-version, but afaik it's not available as of now. sorry.
Im from South America, I thuoght that in my country works the 900 mhz, but only works with the 850mhz. I dont know what to do, i suppose i have to sell it on ebay cause nobody has a solution. thansk anyway
Why dont you return it to where you bought it from??...i dont know the laws of your country but if you have only had it a few days then you should be entitled to a refund as the phone is not suitable for you.

You have a touch diamond, right? I have it too and also if on HTC site is wrote that diamond is tri band, with radio 1.00.25.05 and radio 1.00.25.06 is actually working as quad band GSM.
Check this post, the guy tested the quad band rom with a professional communication tester:

You have flashed the .05 radio? What carrier are you using?
im from colombia
i'm from colombia and i install the radio rom 25.05 and now is working in 850
before i installed the signal sucks with the 25.03... but now is better than never before.
i think that your need to reflash the 25.05 radio rom
Im going to try again my friend!!!!! My carrier is Movistar.
I would let you know what happens!!!!
thank you very much, i appreciatte your concern about my problem, thanks my friend!!!
it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks my friend i really appreciatte!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you rule!!!!
Hello everyone.. I'm also from Colombia and I want to give you all information about what i did in order to solve the issue of the 850mHz.
I flashed HardSPL and ROM for Radio as indicated in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211 (As many people I'm using HardSPL 1.40.OliNex
and Radio 1.00.25.05 )
I also flashed a cooked ROM from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2405336&postcount=1
I did all that yesterday so I havent been able to test signal outside from Bogota, but improvement on the device and the signal reception is obvious. I also did the test of dialing *#*#364#*#* on the key pad of the phone and I saw that the phone was working on the 850mHz frequency.
I have tested the device with two different carriers... Movistar and Comcel withouyt any problem. I was hoping with Comcel to get 3G signal (due to activation of 850mHz frequency) but still does not work. Some say that is imposible due to hardware issues, some other people says that Hardware in Diamond is capable of 3G US standard.... LETS SEE!!! HOPEFULLY SOME OF THE GURUS ARE WORKING ON THIS ISSUE.
It works in Mexico
Hello there.
Hell i bought mine directly from HTC, it was shipped with a spanish ROM 1.93 and radio .05. As soon as I inserted my GSM chip it worked with no problem. We are still waiting that some Dev found the key to allow our first gen diamond to work with 3G. Because imported phone onl ywork with 3.5G at 900mhz
I know this device is 3G Networked (HSDPA 900 / 2100) for Europe.
My question is, will there be a 3G Network device version (HSDPA 850 / 1900) for America ?
I know the Europe version is hardwired for Europe and can not be converted to work in America, yes?
3G Compatible version for USA
You are right. HTC has not yet luanched this device with 3G compatibility with US operators.
Rumour: HTC is planning to launch 3G compatible(for US) device by september 2009.

why cant the usa just move in line with every other country in the world
With the Diamond 1 it could be configured to be UMTS 850. Telstra in Australia produced a ROM for the Diamond1 that was UMTS 850/2100.
Telstra run on UMTS 850 because Telstra are dodgy and want unique handsets. Other Australian providers are UMTS 2100 or UMTS 900 /2100.
I would say that the same will apply for the Diamond 2. The hardware will allow all frequencies but you will need a ROM that enables what you need. The UMTS 850 ROMs appear to be vendor rather than region specific.

The original specs(before the D2 was released) showed al 4 3G freqs. So I believe you are correct in your assumption that this can be done through rom.
Hey Trinity users, I just bought a trinity recently and have upgraded the software. I was just wondering how to get some more bands on my phone.
I searched around and could not find much. But I am guessing you should be able to lock on to UMTS 850 + 2100 especially if you are with 3mobile in Australia and want to use the Telstra Roaming.
Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

Patch - All Band Types.cab do not works in my trinity for 850 Mhz...
need help.
I have a quick question regarding GSM bands.
I'm using the Bell i9000M (on 850/1900 band) right now, and planning on unlocking my phone and taking it to Spain for a vacation.
In Spain the GSM band they use is 900/1800. I know my phone is compatible with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and HSDPA 900/1900/2100. Will my phone search for those bands and switch automatically when I put in a SIM card from Spain? Or is there something that I need to configure within the phone?
Thanks!
Hi,
I own a HTC One, european version. But as I am living currently in south america, I can not use anything faster than EDGE, as the EU Version only supports 900 Band upwards, whereas overhere the band of choice for quick data is 850.
Is there a way to activate this band?
Thanks, Tom
