hellooo. Baught an OEM HTC miniusb to 3.5 mm stereo converter for my g1. Tried headset/speaker widget. no go. When i plug the headphones (with adapter of course) no sound out of headphones. Any ideas or fixes for this? Thanks
what radio do u have
stock radio version. think the newest radio would make any bit of difference for this matter? when i hear "radio" i imagine the part of the phone that gives signal.. am I wrong?
just flashed newest radio. didnt fix a thing.
did a bit more research.. and realized that the adapter i have - although HTC OEM - is only 5-pin, and to my knowledge I am in need of an extUSB --> 3.5mm
So... would THIS http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-EXTUSB-TO-3...d255487e5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_2389wt_1165 Be the correct thing for my g1?
Also, Would THIS http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-11-Pin-to-3...5a2d3d8ee&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_3568wt_1083 Work? Anybody ever used one? Looks kinda huge..
my OEM htc adapter wont work by itself. I use the headset toggle widget and it works perfect. You insert your adapter and click the widget twice.

dude be cool... your dream should have come with an adapter when you bought it. if anything, go to frys buy the HTC adapter they sell. make sure you dont buy one made for blackberry or samsung. HTC makes one that they sell.... it may be the one you bought and you may have just gotten one with a bad pin. happened to me before
on a better note. i hope you get it working, i know it can be frustrating when you have a fine piece of technology like the dream and want it to work at its full potential

I need to replace htc kaiser (Kaiser 130 if this matter) usb but i dont know USB product code. Can someone post it here?
Thanks in advance!
If you mean the USB port on the bottom of the handset, it is part of the flex cable and cannot be bought separately. Flex cables are usually less than $100US.

Indeed it can be replaced. It's a part made by a Taiwanese connector manufacturer Acon (www.acon.com) and if you look on the service manual (accessible through links on the wiki) page 92 shows the connector as Con5 and part no MJE21-11K7P20. Good luck finding someone to supply it but your countries agents for Acon may be a place to start. There are also companies that offer a USB socket replacement service where they do all the work as well as supply the part. Search the USB port failure related threads here for details as their name escapes me.
i have been using my motorola razr charger on my tilt and now its loose and wont charge right, my oem tilt charger still works. anyone else experience this?
can someone post on how easy it was for them to replace the miniusb?
just need to solder it on..its quite easy
easy? for newbies is quite harder with no skills I sugest to you do not do this because you can brick your pda.

Hi,
I don't know where's re located, but many people in the US had very good experience with some companies specialised in PDA reparation. You may want to make a forum search for "broken usb" or similar.
can someone please post on their experience and where is the best place to get the USB connector for the att Tilt, possibly post a tutorial or youtube video on how to do it?
my solution!
hi from germany,
actually i had the same problem with the kaiser a few weeks ago and i searched the whole internet for the usb connector in order to replace my broken one. NO CHANCE!
I call HTC Germany and HTC USA and they were not able to tell me the specifications of the connector. One thing i can say for sure. HTC is NOT! using a standardized USB connector as it is built in other devices (nokia n95, motorola razr etc.).
My solution was: I ordere a display-damaged HTC Tytn 1 and gave it to an electrician who did his job well. He replaced my Kaiser USB connector.
Pretty annyoing, but it worked for me.
Much success to you1
I was wondering if it were possible for someone to make it so i could use a mini usb to 3.5 mm headphone jack converter that came with my old phone, the motorola slvr. i tried but it doesnt work and i dont wanna buy a new one from htc. pleaze help.

you can get them for like 5 bucks from amazon
i dont really wanna buy one but thats the cheapest i have seen. tnx
If you can solder it's easy to make one, but you're going to need an htc plug, not usb. It's proprietary and you need the wires, or you might be able to rewire the mini-usb but I haven't tried.
Email me from inspiritmedia dot com contact page. I already have one of these made from my 8525 that works.
On the website for this product, http://www.htcdongle.com/news.php , it says that the device can be used to flash, unlock and soff the Incredible S. If you go into their forum, you will find that this capability was just added last week for the Vivo. It looks like it can be used to repair IMEI numbers as well. If you find a store that sells it, it costs $119.
If it works as advertised, it seems like a pretty good deal. So does anyone have any first hand experience with one of these?
hmm, i never heared of it, better stick with xtc, also since the payg is comin so much cheaper..
and tbh i dont believe this as well, since i havent seen an video of actually disabling the security aka s-off on an device
and how would you connect it to your phone?
as far as i know you can only s-off an device trough fakin a dev-simcard (when its hardware based)

You don't connect it directly to your phone. It's a dongle. You just plug it into your PC and plug your phone into your PC and the software you install detects the dongle and the phone. At least that's how I understand the instructions posted on their forum.
I find thisproduct interesting because I'm interested in the IMEI repair functionality aspect. As far as I know the XTC Clip doesn't offer that option.
But if HTC unlocks their bootloaders before I actually buy my next phone, it won't matter as I won't need it. I just wanted to put this out here to see if anyone had tried it and to show there are other options available.

this seems a software hack to the IS since it's not connected directly to the phone..
well.. does this mean that those guys have found the exploit everyone is searching for?

that's not an answer to my question.
"indirect way" means software way.. and software could be/looks like exploit
is it or not?
xtc clip emulates dev sim card with hardware connected.
and btw with xtc payg only 25-30 euros you're way too expensive for the simple user right now..

I should say its 80% hardware nd 20% software.. htc dongle also emulates dev sim card.. unlike xtc the connection between the dongle nd the fon is through the software.. we should connect our fon to the same pc wid the usb plug.. the software helps the fon to connect to the dongle virtually.. rest is same as xtc.. hope this cleared out ur question

a dongle cant act as a simcard
why?
because its not in the simcard slot.... so unless theres a actual simcard placed and you call this not a software hack i call it a ghost story

Wow. Following the HXCDongle, formerly the HTCDongle, forum tells me that this works. I don't need to understand how it works. I have decided to not get an Incredible S though and am waiting for them to support the HTC Sensation 4G before buying one. It looks like the price has gone down on the HTC Dongle at ipmart.com, probably because of the name change and trying to get rid of old stock. This just seems like a better deal then the XTC clip so I don't know why it hasn't gotten a better following.
lol, you should search further.... alpharevx is gonna supply software for s-off
Assuming the dongle write some sort of unlock code to the sim card? And when inserted into the phone, the code is read and executed by the bootloader, as the sim card is "trusted" by the bootloader??
Hi all,
This is a stab in the dark for some help, I got a HTC ONE some time ago and think its the best phone I have ever seen, but I have never used it and it has stayed in its box as it does not work with my setup.
I have an appradio head unit for the car and I use arliberator app plus a mhl adapter to mirror my phone onto the screen in my car, at the moment I use the S4 and have also used the S3 with no issues what so ever. I tried to use the HTC but it just wont work, well it will work great as long as I dont put my vodafone sim card in the HTC, as soon as I put the sim card in I get snow issues. By snow I mean a fuzzy screen not that it starts snowing!
I have tried various roms but all the same result, I have been on the arliberator forum and I seem to be the only one having this issue, I did spend atleast £200 on various different MHL adapters and even got the HTC Media link, the media link worked but does not mirror the phone screen.
Any suggestions before I reluctantly put the HTC on ebay?

Sounds like defective hardware, particularly if you can't find other reports of this issue online. Try returning the phone or having it serviced.

I did and they sent me a replacement but still the same problem
Anyone?
Guess not then!
I just broke the headset that came with my M8, and was looking for a replacement, the problem is that nobody sells the original ones from HTC, not even HTC, I can only find fake ones in amazon.
If anyone know were can I get the original ones please tell me.
I also saw the new HTC active headset, but I can't find any review or anything. Does anyone have them? Are they good compared to the M8 headset(black and red)???
You know you can use any headset with the M8 right? You can probably find better headsets for cheaper than the HTC headsets, which I read are rebranded Beats.
