lol no worries, defintally not tring to hate. But I would also say that this isn't a poll on which rom you're using. It's a poll asking you since you've flash both roms which you think is faster. I was looking at it and was thinking " I could see people messing that up "

yes, exactly....i glad you noticed and clarified, this rom is really only for those who have flashed atleast 2 or all of these and are voting on the rom they believe to be the fastest of the ones they tried. yea i was also thinking a good bit of people might misunderstand this..later, veritasa
mine's the fastest
It's not listed here because it's not finished, but it doesn't require (it doesn't even support) A2SD, compcache is automatic, you get 80~ MB free in data on first boot.
I just need a few final details to get it working, but when I do it'll be an option for people who do not want/use/need a2sd but want rosie, exchange, and a few widgets.
With the shameless self advertising done, I think akirah's is by far the best, fastest build on the device currently (that I've tried), given all other things equal. But Jac's newest build with cyanogen's kernel enhancements might be faster. I haven't tried it because my phone is busy finishing testing my build.

My opinion and by result is Drizzy v.05 right now. but he's comming out with 1.0 tonight. so u might want to hold for that. extremely fast for hero. Huge step for hero on drizzy's v.05

Short of being flamed..(there have been numerous people asking about "What's better.. blah blah blah" and getting burned something severe) try some of the hero's for yourself! I have installed JACxHero1.5r2 on 3 different phones and both have varying results. I suggest to everyone who is curious about hero or any other ROM to just flash and test for yourself!
MoDaCo Hero ROM
I just flashed to the MoDaCo 1.5 Hero Rom tonight and it is by far "THE FASTEST" Hero ROM I've ever had yet.I love it and plan to stay with this ROM forever until a possibly better ROM comes out.
I think the flash is the fastest super hero.

Do you know how long it usually takes for the ROM to be developed?
Eclair has been dumped but not with the release keys only test keys. I'd say it's just a matter of time now that the Droid has an official release date.
Does Eclair = Android 2.0?

If you follow the thread, you'll see that they are very, very close to getting it to successfully boot. That said, once they do, you still will not be flashing it to your phone (unless you are very unwise). Just getting it to boot doesn't mean that it will be anything close to usable. Developing a ROM is an active process. It starts out a total unusable mess, and grows into, say, what CyanMod is now. (I've used every experimental Cyan release since the 3.x days, and it used to be kinda messy)

Got tired of all the CM updates, each one breaking something different than the previous.
I'm sure at some point I'll do another modded ROM but I really do need something that is _reasonably_ stable.
Sure there'll be those who say "I've never had a problem"....good for you! I have followed many advice methods from many people. Hell, there have been some who have taken a bit of a written beating from my vents of frustration, and they still talk to me True dedication. On the flip side, if you ask a complete and intelligent question on Cyanogen's IRC channel, you'll get ignored, despite his wiki saying go there as one of the steps before reporting a problem (Hey Cyanogen, I'd like to report that the IRC channel is broken for anyone looking for help....:/ )
Been through the ringer with CMs and kinda sore over it. Will check other ROMs down the line because I've exhausted enough energy with this one.
Thanks for all your guys help. There are a few saints amung the 'uber coders'
We all owe Cyanogen a debt of gratitude for his work and how it has inspired others.
However, not all roms are created equal and of course a Full wipe before flashing any type of NEW rom onto your device is the key to success.
Super D is definitely where its at if you want the best of everything the HTC Dream/G1 has to offer, see my signature for the correct version.

Super D really was one of the fastest roms for me, but may I ask why you recommend 1.9.3 over 1.11?
OP, your sig says that you are running firmware 2.2. There is no stable 2.2 rom out there (CM6 is still in release candidate status...). If you want to use CM, stick with 5.0.8 it has less bugs.

I agree I've never liked cyanogen's ROMs. However, they are better than stock. He's also a damn good dev and most other ROMs have some bits from his work in there. Super E latest is what I'm on now. It's a piece of work, and the most stable Eclair I've found. However, if you want a pretty much guaranteed stable ROM, always go Donut. I like the features in Eclair, but nothing will compare to Donut on these devices in terms of speed and stability. That's just my opinion, though.

no comment for you bookcase, i was talking about Donut based roms not Froyo. Froyo its too slow for G1 Hardware, so i got tired of using something that supposed to work right and consumes more battery.
That not the dumbest answer i bought so far 3 android phones. They all cost around 1,200 all together. Droid 1 $230, Google g1 $400+ $25 tax=425,Motorola cliq $400+25=425 not including tax that cover the $100 tax.
You can't "change the processor number from 6 to 7," because that would do absolutely nothing. It's like taking a .zip file and naming it .jpg. No matter how much you want it to be a jpg image, it's still going to be a zip file. Each new processor has a different hardware structure, and the naming scheme (ex: arm v6, arm v7) simply denotes what hardware it is.
I can't believe I even took the time to respond to that post, haha!
This is an age-long question but is SUPER relevant for our N1's. I just want to know what a good A2SD script is? In particular, I will be running this on CM7.2. I know of S2E and Darktremor but each have their own bad issues.
If anyone can just post what they use and if it has worked stable with no issues. I just want to set up a super stable daily driver for myself.
Seriously, did you just bump a thread that's created not even 3 hours ago?
On topic:
I'm on CM7.2 and I'm not using any A2SD and still have space left. Repartition and don't install apps you rarely use. I don't understand people who want hundreds of apps installed..
With ICS Medroid I did try Timbit's iA2SD and I really liked the fact that you could choose what should be moved to ext-partition. If I'm not mistaking he is working on a standalone version.

To this day, I haven't in any way been displeased with Darktremor's app2sd script. My vote goes to that and timbit's iA2SD.

Cool. I LOVE stalkers! Please stop posting if you have nothing good to say... ( it also scares me that you are so obsessed with me that you did that much digging... Get out more dude...)
Right now I just starting using S2E as it seems fast. Is there any issues on Darktremor where external volume goes real dull even when volume is turned up? I have heard of this issue a while back and didn't use it.
Yes indeed, 3 mouse clicks == stalking and much digging. Don't overrate yourself kid..
I've used DT A2SD quite a while and never had any issues whatsoever. Same for S2E, DATA2EXT, A2SD+ and iA2SD, they all run rock solid. If you have a well aligned partition layout on your µSD, it will all be fine. It's obvious that the phone gets a bit slower.
I don't know what you mean by 'each have their own bad issues', because I've never had issues and I never read about other people having issues. Do you mind sharing those bad issues with us?

I haven't had those issues. Darktremor's A2SD script has always worked for me in all conditions, especially where MIUI's built it one fails.
I use ad2sdx, because you can see the space left of the ext partition in program manager. It is rock stable on cm7.1 and did not have any slowdown or something. BTW offending and shouting to people is not going to make them put ics on the n1, soo you better stop doing that
Hey guys. I'm new to a2sd and am wondering what the OP meant about Darktremor's script. I was looking to use that in one of my roms or I would just go with QND MIUI's xpart script. Anyone have problems with QND Miui xpart? Thanks. Sorry Im new heres
