Email illumination not unlimited in 6.5 roms? - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

I've been using agent47 and Jack's lite rom, but both are not able to give me unlimited illumination for email. SMS and missed phone call illumination are unlimited, but email stops after a while even though I've set it to unlimited.
Am I the only one experiencing this?

you mean to tell me that no one is experiencing this but me?

Getting tilt aim messenger on HTC rom

I liked that AIM messenger on the tilt and wish to use it on HTC rom. I'm pretty sure my old cab I used for the wizard can be used, but just wondering any way that program can be brought to HTC rom.
you do you know that one uses text messages everytime you send an recieve a message, it is not using data?
I believe these are the two cabs that come with the AT&T Tilt ROM

Yeah, I just found that out today. I NEVER use SMS and I checked my online statement and figured it out. Thankfully I only sent 7 messages to test it out. Too bad, its a nice client.
I did the same thing when I opened up my tilt, i do like the client, I am fond of agile message too so far but prolly will go with the free version from UK
Try IM+ instead.
when I used the aim service, I was connecting to GPRS. If it uses SMS, will you get charge for data, too just by being connected?
I have unlimited messaging so its a okay, but id imagine it would use data considering it is a pda and most likely will have unlimited data plan.

Recieving SMS with each IM

I am using the Bigstorage with OZ messanger installed and each time i send an IM i recieve a text message from 1111470500 saying WVCI 1.1 111? what is that and how do i turn it off?
edit, It seems as if messages sent to me VIA AIM aren't showing up th the messanger but rather as Text Messages

I am not sure if that is what is going on.. I simply logged into MSN Messenger and Yahoo using OZ Messenger via the ATT Stock ROM. I have been receiving the messages ever since (about 200 hundred of them - at least I have the unlimited text message plan). The message is generally either WVCI 1.1 333 (sent from 1111470600) or WVCI 1.1 444 (sent from 1111470400). I will attempt to find out more about what is happening.. Stay Tuned..

sms
im also getting a weird sms message with every im login. I have a tytn 2 with the stock htc rom. it sent them to me when I was trying to get a oz program working and all the time now as im using mundu.
Ok.. To resolve this issue or actually workaround the issue, change for password for your MSN Messenger, AOL Messenger and or Yahoo Messenger accounts. Apparently once you login with your password, the OZ Network stores the password. The text messages we have been receiving are sent everytime someone on our contact lists signs into either of the 3 IM services. OZ needs to address this issue but OZ does not communicate directly with end-users therefore AT&T needs to help resolve the issue.
Anyway, change your passwords (once I learned about the contact list, changing the passwords made since so I attempted and verified) and you will get NO more text messages from OZ. In the meantime, the only solution is NOT to use OZ.

This is a well known and documented issue with OZ Messenger with the tilt, and 8525 before it. Search the Hermes/8525 forum for the detailed explanation of what's happening and how to stop it, and how to prevent it from happening again.
The above mentioned workaround in the last post sort of works. But basically, log into the OZ Messenger again, and log out properly. The messages happen when you close OZ IM WITHOUT properly logging out first. ANother way to stop the messages is log into IM on another PC. This is force your phone connnection closed. THe SMS messages are basically a "ping" SMS from OZ IM's servers since it uses SMS messages. Ultimately, I recommend you NOT use OZ IM and use another IM program.

I agree on not using the program again.. Unforunately logging in on the PC does not work. .. And yes, I close the app without logging out.. What a crappy bug to have.. Thanks for the additional info..
What program can we use?
i really liked that one.

AT&T Instant Messaging

Does anyone know if the programs in the AT&T Tilt Instant Messaging use SMS? I have no text plan, so I would hat to use it then get a big bill.
do u bother to search? yes it uses txt.
Yes, AT&T took off WindowsLive with their free messenger that uses your unlimited data service and put on there IM client that uses sms so that you have to still pay them for every message sent.
great thanks for letting me know.

2 Questions: Messaging program & MMS w/o data usage?

Hi, I have searched google and these forums for answers to my questions but could not get a definite answer or solution to my questions.
My first question: What is a good program for internet messaging such as AIM and MSN that uses only text messages rather than data usage? I am not on a data plan but do have unlimited text messages...I would be okay if it used WIFI too....
Second question: I have heard that MMS uses data connection. I have my data disabled but would like to have the option possibly available to me. Is it possible to send/recieve MMS w/o the use of a data plan? Perhaps wifi if possible? or a program that allows the sending of MMS w/o data interference?
Thanks in advance for any help!
it uses data.....i have the unlimited text messaging plan that includes IM's and MMS....its the family plan for 29.99 i believe
yea, I have that plan too, it says mms is included, but you dont think it will use data?
also, no IM clients that are supported purely over SMS?
You can try the OZ Instant Messaging client. From reports it sends over SMS. It has been reported it does use a small amount of data when it signs you in or out of the service but after that its all SMS based.

you will not get charged for the data when sending MMS....it will come up as data on your bill but will not get charged for it..so send as many MMS as you want because thats what the plan is for...
as for instant messenger...get the OZ isntant messenger..it comes with the shipped rom (or you can download it like the guy that posted above) and it will use data to log in but you will not get charged for it..and each IM counts as SMS. As long as you have an instant messenger that comes with the original ROM it will count as SMS and will not get charged for any data transfers

Visual voicemail for the Fuze?

So I've been searching for awhile now
with no luck. Does anyone know of an app
for the Fuze that can do what you see in
the iphone commercial, where you can search through
your voicemails and choose which one to
listen to. I found a couple that read wav
files from your email, and promise something similar,
but my voicemail doesn't get sent to my email.
if anyone knows of an app that will do that for
my cell phone voicemail, that would solve the problem
AT&T does this for the Iphone, so what's the big deal?
why not the fuze, or windows mobile devices
in general?
I use a mix of callwave and mail2web, which has an exchange server. Callwave forwards my voicemail to my email, and the email get's pushed on to my phone. It's the only thing available (that I'm aware of), that will do any sort of visual voicemail on anything that's not an iphone. I even set a separate sound notification for the outlook email, using watchflag
check out youmail. kind of like mentioned above, as u can just have ur voicemail forwarded to email and pushed to ur phone. it has a LOAD of other options such as callertones for each caller and transcription. which used to be free, but has recently changed since coming out of beta. pretty much everything else is free and great to use.
Do any of these allow an actuall wav. or audio file of the voicemail to be sent to me via. an attachment to an email, that can then be checked from my phone. I found a program that scans my email for wav. and audio files and then displayes and allows me to play them just like the Iphone. problem is I can't seem to find a way to have my voicemail sent to my email. I signed up for a youmail account, and I gotta say I like the notification options and being able to check my voicemail online, but it still doesn't actually get the audio to my email, which is kinda what I'm hoping for. Not a huge deal just more convenient. also it's one more thing to be like "iphone, oh ya look at my phone". ok that's kinda cheesy, but you get the point. You kinda get tired of seeing all the fluff about the Iphone when I can do everything and more with my Fuze. I'd like to see AT&T just make this service avaliable to the rest of the smartphones they sell. not just the Iphone, but I'm sure apple made some sort of stipulation, for At&t's exclusivity to the ibone sales.
youmail does send an email with a wav- just check the options. Check this out also: http://www.ppcmobility.com/forums/showthread.php?t=426
both youmail and callwave send mp3 or wav files to your email. they both transcribe text as well. so you can receive your voice mail through both text and email.
what i love the most is, they both send out a notification even if a voicemail is not left. so if you dont have signal for what ever reason (when im on the subway to and from work) you can still be aware of who called.
when used with mail2web or any exchange account with push....visual voice mail seems bland.
MessageSling will also send audio files to your email, free.
phone Fusion
Maybe you need to take a look at phonefusion voicemail plus
It works same as iphone visual voicemail plus more functions.
also it is free
bad news, they only have voicemail number for US.
Thanks all. I appreciate all the help. I did try phonefusion, but didn't like that it didn't sync with my contacts. I actually ended up using a combination of youmail which I have send me an email to my new web2mail address, and then I have that pushed to my fuze, where web2mail is setup as an exchange server. Better than any visual voicemail i've found yet as it actually has caller ID built in. where I don't even need to have the person in my contacts and it tells me who it is. As a bonus I am testing out mvisualvoicemail as friendly interface to view all of them together.
Wouldn't it be easier to just answer your phone? (utter sarcasm)
I like the PhoneFusion... very simple setup and over quickly

Is phone Fusion free??? And is it "safe", by that I mean is it's security/ privacy safe? From what I understand, when using it you no longer use ATT's voicemail. You forward unanswered calls to phonefusion, but is it reliable? Or could they or other people hear your messages?

Regarding you question i honestly dont know.... i rarely have voicemails at all and if i do i am not worried about its security. It would be illegal for them to listen to you voicemails...unless of course there is something in the agreement...which i did not read . lol sorry i can not be any help.
and yes its free
Double posted somehow, sorry
Phone Fusion Voicemail Plus is 100% free.
As far as safe, it is stored on their servers, so they COULD listen to it I suppose, but so could AT&T on their own servers if they wanted to....
No normal people can't hear your voicemail. You have to log in to the site to listen to your vm's, or you listen to it from your phone. So unless someone's accessing your phone without you knowing, (like a snooping g/f or b/f) you're good.
The program is pretty sweet btw. I'd DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone who wants a Visual Voicemail type display.
I just tested Fusion Voicemail Plus. It plays through WMP and through the speaker. It would be nice to have one application that would play through the earpiece.
For Voicemail usage like the one on the iPhone (Voicemail stored on an IMAP Server), I suggest you to try Clementine Visual Voice Mail created by flap

Note that it's in french, but not that hard to understand (even though I'm french )
