any news widgets out there for hero?
BBC is good. You can have several widgets, each displaying a different news thread. Eg. world news, sport, technology etc.

For any Google Reader fans out there, I've found that the iPhone version works well in Opera Mobile (using build 1622).
The address is http://www.google.com/reader/i/ - enjoy!
hero! thanx
this is cool ! there are lots of "iPhone specific" sites that work well on Opera Mobile, shame the site owners advertise it as "iphone"

Cool, could you list some examples?
Thx!
Great tip:>
Others I know about that work well:
http://iphone.facebook.com
http://www.tvguide.co.uk/iphone/ (UK listings for all channels)
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/iphone/sports/ US sports results, filtered by sport at the top.
http://i.wund.com/ Weather site, yeah we have a cool weather gizzmo already, but this one has satellite maps and all sorts.
I saw this really cool bloomberg application on iphone that can generate nice plots for various stocks with different timelines and have company details and news. Are there any program that is similar to that bloomberg App on PPC, in particularly on the Touch diamond? I have been doing some stock trading lately, so i am quite interested to know. Thanks for the info in advance..
These two apps are my favorite and most useful tv guide apps i use on my ipod.
"What's On TV"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV-k7VfAC-A
"i.Tv"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YXu7WrehPY
"What's On TV" is great but it doesn't support landscape mode. "i.TV" is a great app that supports both modes but does alot [i like the more simple "Whats On TV" app]. It would be great if these apps were ported!!
Or, if anyone has another TV Guide app they can suggest, that would be awesome.
I used to use TV Guide Mobile (http://tvguide.handmark.com/), but it does not have digital channels
Thanks!
that handmark app is no longer available. i've seen a few freeware tv guide apps but they have no visual appeal. the apps are in basic text. i might have to dust up the old keyboard and get to some ol' fashioning programming and making some GREAT apps

That would be amazing if you or someone could create such an app.
I will definitely subscribe to this thread in hopes of some news.
Thanks!

Just an app that would parse through the data on http://www.tvguide.com would be enough for me....
For now I use http://m.tvguide.com/ which (sort of) works...
Take a look HERE

After clicking the link and reading the technique (even if I was in Italy), my head was spinning. I think I'll wait till an app is made or a widget for WM6.5 that reads dish network, Direct TV or TV guides websites and parses the data in realtime.

That's funny, lol. It had the same effect on me
Layar has just been put on the Market.
A new augmented reality app like wikitude but with more scope (from what I can see).
Both very cool and great to show Android nay sayers that your Hero is bloody ace
bloody brilliant thanks this will shutup some iphone lovers.
Got it.
Its showing sod all up here but that's because there is sod all up here. Off to Greece followed by Amsterdam in September and then Vancouver in Feb 2010. I'm going to hammer this app.
I think there are plans for more layers in the app - most are Netherlands based.
The Layar search is the most useful being driven by Google.
Wikipedia works to a certain degree but Wikitude shows far more points of interest.
Very promising technology though.
Great app. Could do with a few more users. As much as I like it not been on the iPhone we might need it to be on it as the more users the better

Ah but we got it first
I've had a play around with it this morning, it's pretty cool.
I have been bragging about it to my iPhone friends, they're not too pleased!
Wikipedia entry keeps loading...
indeed very nice app!
But my problem is that if I use wikipedia layer and try to open a wikipedia entry, I just get a white screen with Loading... on top, but it does not appear. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
solved
yep, this seemed to be a related problem to the facebook and flickr login problems

Hi guys, I have seen there is quite a lot of newspapers apps on the market, which one do u recommend? I'm a news freak living in London and interested in worldwide news...Thanks for your help.
Try the genie widget from a previous post here...Does a good job of aggregating and organizing many news sources...
