I want to remove:
Plurk and Plurk Widget
Bookmarks Widget
Footprint and Footprint Widget
Mail Widget

I dont use any of those widgets at all, so i'm thinking just get rid of them to save space.
Any help/input would be awesome
up
can anyone help??
im on drizzy's new v1.4r2 now
do the same thing that you did to remove the apps. just find the exact name of the widget that you want to delete. Just go into the rom and look at the individual widget name in app_s folder
Yea, just do ls when your in the /data/app_s/ directory and find the exact name.

how about flash cyanogenmod. If you don't want those widgets then why run a hero rom at all? Other than flash what advantage does it have over cyanogenmod?

This is minus plurk and footprint. I've already deleted those and cannot remember what they're labeled. But they're in the /system/sd/app_s folder... but for everything else!
Code:
su
mount /system/sd (type this only if you're doing this from console)
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/BizCardReader.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/com.htc.MusicWidget.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/com.htc.WeatherWidget.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/htcmailwidgets.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/htcmsgwidgets.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/HtcPhotoWidget.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/Jbed.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/PDFViewer.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/Quickoffice_HTC_1.0.1.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/teeter.apk
rm -r /system/sd/app_s/htcbookmarkwidget.apk
Teeter can be removed from App Manager in Settings... though it doesn't take up much room and it's a fun game when you're waiting in line somewhere or on the subway.

theres my app that works on windows and theres 2 terminal versions that people have made .. have to do a search for them
and to answer your question yes its possible to have 4x3 .. thats what im using
Hypothetical scenario..
Im using a custom ROM with a built in Home replacement/Launcher. For some reason I feel this drains my battery or chugs up my system.
I decide to use another one like say Launcher pro or ADW.
Once I set Launcher Pro or ADW as my default. Are they the only home/launcher running ?
Or do I know have 2 launchers running but one is just in the background ?
I think that even when you clear data or force stop it restarts in the background.
try this:
adb remount
adb shell rm -f /system/app/Launcher.apk
That removes the stock launcher and leeves only the replacement. Run a fix_permissions afterwards
Can we move stock widgets to a directory so they can be seen by ADW laucher? and if so where do we copy them to?

ADWlauncher should see any widgets that it can use.
Some of the stock widgets only work with touchwiz.
basically , so far i've noticed that u will only miss the s planner widgets (calendar , agenda , etc...) when u use another launcher.
also when u send an s memo as a "widget" , its defaulted into touchwiz , despite the fact that u can add a blank s memo widget on yr alternative laucnher.. hope someone finds a solution to this tiny issue..
hope this helps.
Can anyone tell me in which directory/file the stock and downloaded widgets are kept? Can I just delete some as when I go to install a widget on the home screens, the long list scrolls forever?
Stock widgets are in /system/app
Downloaded are in data/app
In /system/app I see lots of .apk and .odex files. As these are system files, I presume I can't delete any?
My /data/app folder is empty despite having downloaded more than a hundred widgets. Can you help further?
Here are few I remember
buddies now, some widgets start with *samsungwidget*, accu weather, days, splannerappwidgets, geniewidget, analogue clocks, dual clock, digital clock etc.
Thanks. So I'm still looking for the widgets that I downloaded. Does anyone know where these are kept?
