MMS issues getting you down??? - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

Just flashed that new slick ROM on your phone?
Using AT&T and MMS not working???
Here's what I do to get it working
First install arcsoft MMS if it isn't already cooked into the rom which can be found at "The Wingster's" site or wherever you like.
After the install, soft reset. When you get back, install and run the HTC network wizard. The one I'm attaching works pretty well. I don't know what is up with the built in wizard that pops up after flashing but it don't work for some reason at least as far as AT&T is concerned...
After you do the soft reset after it configurates, install "cing_mms_setting.cab" then "cing_connection_settings.cab" once you got that handled, do a soft reset. Once back try sending an MMS to yourself to test and verify your settings.
This worked for me and I hope it works for you. If anyone else wants to post here with cabs for other carriers (T-Mobile, or whatevers) go for it! It would be nice to finally put this issue behind all of us who have suffered.
Thanks to all the cooks for all their hard work in bring us the killer ROMS we all enjoy here at XDA
-peace!

LOL me too i thought i was the only one111111111111?????????????????//

I'm having an issue with my MMS, but I think it might be different from this....
I got everything just perfectly up until the step involving going to the messaging settings and then the MMS settings. The MMS settings option just ISN'T THERE. I've tried multiple roms on fresh flashings, and have no idea what to do
I wanna die.

Interesting coz I was replying to your thread you posted over in the other board regarding this issue. I was gonna point you over here but it seems you already found it. You needs to grab arcsoft MMS and install that... you can find it here...
http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/05/27/arcsoft-mms-50317.html
Good thing u mention it since it gave me a reason to post a link to the cab file

dont know y it posted again my bad for this one

Just to let you know, since no one confirmed it, that it DOES werk!
Thanks alot!!

OK... funny situation
So yea... got the mms settings down, maybe I should wait to post but any feedback would be interesting. I've searched around and haven't heard of anyone else having this issue.
I can get MMS from ATT & t-mo users no problem, but if I am dealing with a sprint, verizon, or metro pcs user then I get a "file not found" error and a txt document saying the same thing.
Any thoughts, it's the same phone running wm 6.5.5 build 23563 sporting arcsoft mms 5.2.8.45 hehe that CDMA hybrid one. I'll be able to try a different version on a new ROM tonight.
UPDATE: turns out it was the arcsoft client... uh may be a good idea with anything that says "hybrid" unless I make one myself

MMS Configuration, or other MMS issues

Short question, maybe someone knows. If I want to add a new Server in MMS Configuration the [New] button is not responding.
How can I re-activate this button.
anyone, help would be appreciated.
Well... this button should be active at all times... So your best bet would be to reflash your device... Sorry man...

Yes I guessed that one, therefore I was hoping to get some "other" advises before I hard-reset and notice the same.
I would search for a cab named "Set_up_MMS_folder" in before going back that far. You already have a folder, but reinstall could help fix whatever you are missing.
Good luck.
I hope that works for you... Please give us a shout if it does, but as far as I know the MMS configuration isn't dependent on whether or not you have an MMS foldor or not. Or for that matter an MMS capable phone... It sounds to me that something messed up flashing the ROM... Witch leads to the next question, did the MMS function work at some time after flashing? Did you install any third party software after that?

No it didn't work, I was re-installing my phone. I installed my normal things, as always, like spb today etc. This time I flashed the std T-mob ROM because I was a little tired of all the small problems I had with the home-cooked and now this...........
The mms folder and everything I have, it's only the stupid button which doesn't work.....
........It's there, but even he color shows it's not active.
Im seriously starting to believe the so called gurus in here arent exactly up to snuff ....so to speak. your problem is simple... you have to browse to regedit..somehow(!! can you figure that out?)
oh, just got it:Total commander, tap the two dots in far right (..)
tap the root (\\)
tap registry/hklm/software/arcsoft/...MMSUA/CONFIG/UI/
DRUMROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL... now YOU figure out which setting to enable!
nah, it should be EnableServerEdit ...i think, change the value to '1'
voila
THIS DOES NOT MEAN MY MMS IS WORKING...... I HAVE A PERSISTENT PROBLEM BEING UNABLE TO SEND MMS & everyone is CLUELESS!!
aaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I WANT TO DIE!!!!!!!!! lol
ifull, thanks for the advise, this did the trick. Thanks again, I'm not into registry editing.
I think my problem, as you said, was so simple that the experts thought I would figure this out by myself, LOL.
Thanks again, if I can help you in someway, please PM.
What are the right mms settings
What are the right mms settings, I did the change in the registry as listed above to allow new settings and to see what the current settings are... but can someone look to see what are the correct settings witht the oem rom for the server address..
settings
here are the settings that should be there according to tmo website - http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm21387.htm
on mine those are right but what I think the problem is this, when mms is sending it keeps getting interupted by gprs trying to connect. is there a reg hack to let mms send without being disconnected????
I believe in regedit there are some errorlog.txt files that show you the WHOLE transcription of your attempted outbound messages. If I find mine, I will post it as it shows where the delivery went wrong.
so are you trying to say your 'mms fix' of a day or so ago is not quite "fixed" or what?
re:
this whole mms thing is starting to make me feel like its a tmo network issue and not the device, just never know...but I did flash my rom to X's 2.26 w/ 2.47 radio
mms fix i think
once u hak the reg and change the setting as listed earlier to allow settings edit... click on tmobile mms settings and it should show the settings that were downloaded from tmo...but u want to change the option that says connect via mms --) to connect via data..
I just did that and it sent right away...
it works, click on the tmobile mms server and then change the connection to via data instead of mms... I just sent a message to my self and it sent it out my outbox in less than 30sec for a 75k file

I think the settings are operator dependend
hey vilem, youre welcome on the regedit server setting.. i was laughing at the time I read your reply, as I knew all too well the relief you felt!
robpet, these fixes just get nearer and nearer the ultimate FIX. Still cant send., it only makes a better attempt at sending now(I can see it connecting), but theres a setting SOMEwhere still preventing transmission.
the error logs are in
mydocuments/uacontents/mmslog
perhaps we can compare logs, mine now say
WRONG!!!! no mms date
WRONG!!!! no from address
and I think thats my problem, but dont know where to set it.
thanks

Yes thanks again, I had to do some regedit fixes, like I deleted the whole tree below what you mentioned. Now I'm able even to set as default.
I renamed the thread, because I know a lot of people have problems with MMS.

Thanks!!
More proof how valuable the information shared here can be.

Small MMS pictures??

When I recieve MMS (text message pictures) they are really small, no matter who it is sent from.
Is there a setting that can be changed, or a way to fix it so that the pictures come out larger?
Thanks.
Have you found a fix to this issue? I'm having the same problem, and it seems to have come out of nowhere...
I even did a hard reset of my device to try and fix it, but I'm still having the same issue. My girlfriend will send me 2mp pictures, but they all show up on my phone stamp-sized.
What the hell!!!
I haven't had the issue happen with me, but I read about it yesterday before I read your thread.
http://consumerist.com/351639/att-m...ced-without-explanation-if-theyre-sent-at-all
That really sucks! I'm going to give t-mobile a phone call tomorrow and see what the deal is. I have $500 phone with a nice big screen, and all the pictures look like stamps. It's a shame.
yep...i got the same issue
anyone have a solution?
THe solution is to change a value in the WSPHeader of the registry for Arcsoft
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader
"Accept"="application/vnd.wap.mms-message;*/*"
"Profile"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/wizard-2.0.xml"
"x-wap-profile"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/wizard-2.0.xml"
"User-Agent"="Xda Mini S/arcsoft-mmsua-3.0.0.xx"
Try those values, they worked for me on O2 but what you really need to do is find out what those vaules are set to on the ROM as it came from your provider, as the settings to make tmobile work may be diff for O2 or from VOdafone etc. (note the XDA MINI S bit, that is the O2 name for the WIzard, on other networks it has a diff name)
What those settings do is tell the phone company what type of handset you have, and therefore what capabilities it has and how big an MMS it can receive. If your settings are a phone that your provider doesnt recognise, it makes the MMS small so that it will work for definate.
Hope this helps
that works, thanks! I asked the herald for help too because i'm on the t-mobile US network and I wanted something that they could register. I was given a cab file with those settings, except it didn't have the x-wap set, so i did that myself.
If you're lazy like me, here's a link to the thread with the cab file....

Kaiser MMS on ATT network

I hadn't noticed untill today. I'm running Arcsoft MMS Composer 4.2.8.1 and I can't send an MMS message... it keep just saying "Error syncronizing" I found several different settings on google and none of them worked. Is there something else I'm needing to do to use MMS on the ATT service. I live california in case that matters as far as servers is concerned.
Is this a common problem or is it just my quazi-n00b status...

If you go here:
http://www.wireless.att.com/support/tutorials.do?subscriberType=cing&deviceId=9990
You can get all the settings instructions for the device. Just click through what you're looking for on the left hand side. It has all the tutorials you should need. It has the MMS settings and whatnot, too.
I'm havinf this problem as well. All my settings are as displayed on the At&t support page, so I'm at a loss as to what could be going on. very frustrating.
Tilt running Dutty's v3 final rom.
one of the settings says to limit it to 600. i can only limit it to 300. and I also have the added option of choosing wap 2.0 or wap 1.2... I tried the settings as best I could on that site and it didn't work. I'm currently using See No Evil Latest ROM with arcsoft MMS Composer 4.2.8.1... Its still giving me "error syncronizing"

yes and yes.
But, isnt this cute! Several noobs and nobody bothers searching. I replied to ANOTHER "same" thread not to long ago. So I know for a fact the answer is out there. You just have to remember that we are not your mom and we will not just GIVE you what you request....
SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and some searching turns up absolutely nothing related. in fact. the search terms mms not working mms att and mms at&t turned up nothing. other searches gave too broad a spectrum.
Beyond that. a response doesn't take any more than a minute to type, and is often times much more appreciated than begging me to search when the answer has been buried. Also is generally a bit nicer of a thing. and with your response, you could have easilly had enough time to post some help that may have been useful, rather than taking the time to write a long response about something we *may* have already done.
EDIT: Redundancy

I used a search, and found nothing that fixed the problem, which is why i asked again. If it wasnt the correct search, whoops. I understand you desire to not waste topic space, , but really, If you already know, which it seems to me you do, or at least have an idea of where to point a person, then why not help? What you are doing is the equivalent of telling a person to buy a map and a compass when you know the point they are looking for is around the corner on the left hand side. You wasted more effort thinking out that oh-so-clever OMFGBBQPWN response than was necessary.
But anyways, I'll just mosey around that corner now. That said, thanks for the inf-, oh wait.. never mind.

Ok, this is what you do. From the stock MMS that is part of the tilt, you fill in the blanks for the extra open MMS settings. There will already be a ATT MMS that is set to default but the other one will have no fields filled in when you go into its settings. Add all the MMS settings and save. Now install the hacked MMS which needs to be installed if you are using the palm threaded. This is done because the stock text messaging is tied into the MMS. When you install the threaded, it will take out the original SMS and the MMS along with it. When you install the enable MMS which is now the 2nd and final CAB thats needs to be installed, it will carry over the edited MMS settings from the additional that was edited This must be done efore you install the MMS CAB as you can NOT edit once it is installed. Thats it!

Fido network connection Help

I'm extremely confused about setting up the ISP and MMS on my Tilt with Fido- I have all their information but i still dont receive MMSs also the connection wizard doesn't have fido as an option. Can anyone help out or direct me to a thread with more information (i did a search in here)
Hi there....
I use a carrier other than AT&T on my tilt as well.. I got MMS to work, but it took a little tinkering.. I am assuming you already have the "regular" internet working... Assuming you do, this is what I did..
Delete every AT&T internet setting you can find.. lol.... Then in the TXT messaging screen, hit MENU, then MMS Options, Then goto the SERVERS tab.. delete anything that is already in there... set up a new one.. on mine I just needed the web address ( mine was 192.168.254.251 ) Port 9201 ... and then HTTP://www.einsteinmms.com/+1XXXXXXXXXX (X's are my phone # ) and I left everything else blank.. and it worked... I would get the simmilar settings for your carrier and try... I am usign the stock WM 6.0 rom (Don't laugh... It is customized with all the software I like and works perfect for what I need it to do).. LEt me know if this helps..

The most important information you might find in 2.
redgolf: why don't you try to use ROM 21232 ?, for it's newer than 21500 [CMIIW first 3 digits is 'build by' code and 2 last digit is versioning code I guess] hope it'll help
muckelmaus = CMIIW : isn't he facing a connection problem on his hima? post #63 is explaining about Internet Sharing with computer, right?
As I said: It might help. It might!
On the other hand, I wonder about your radio ROM version 1.10.00?
It´s unknown to me, maybe flashing a new radio ROM might solve your problem. My version 1.17.00 is working fine, I guess, as I didn't try the ROM with a SIM inserted. Which ROM do you want to use exactly? No network wizzard build in?

Test yourself or read forum discussions about pros and cons
congratulation.. agreed on try other radio rom version..
CMIIW latest ROM for hima is : 21234 > build by swampy.. but he didn't release it..
21232 by Sun Dream is the latest and has been published right now I guess.. the stability is pretty subjective, for every user has their own opinion..
