Dialer Application - myTouch 3G, Magic Apps and Games

I know I am not the only one who really likes the HERO dialer, the layout and feel seem a better fit to me... the only issue is that I don't like the rest of the hero UI or ROM MODs currently for the Sapphire.
Does anyone know of an application that emulates this layout? I currently use Phonebook and know of no skins or mods to modify this applications looks.

Just for Clarification, I am talking about the Keypad look of Hero... as you dial a number your contact list will zero down to a possible person....

try useing a T9 dialer app, or I think the rogers rom has somethin like that...The htc dailer i think...

What is the best dialer for the Tilt

Not really happy with the dialer that comes with the phone from at&t, and was just wondering if there were any better dialers out there for our phone.(have picture dialer shortcut, and one on HTC home, not really looking for a picture dialer, more for one where i would actually touch in the numbers on screen).
tnx.
I'm using whatever dialer Dutty's ROM comes with. It's pretty, it's fast, I like it so far.
Are they any stand-alone available?
You should try (before changing ROM) just to disable the skin
Use a registry editor, and navigate to [HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin]
set "Enabled" to "0"
The default Windows dialer is perfect IMHO
i can have one created for u, with a pic, for potrait and landscape

Removing Dialler Theme??

Hi all!
Just got my new o2 Serra today and have been playing about with it. Didn't like the o2 themes so swapped it for the standard HTC TF3D one - Might get a bit more adventurous at a later date
One thing tho, i installed a carbon theme that included a carbon version of the dialler buttons. I have since removed the theme by installing the htc one but dialler buttons are still carbon... i have used the Advanced Config tool to take it back to default but now it doesn't match the standard keyboard design... ??? i'm guessing that o2 use a specific theme other than the htc default one..
I quite liked the original one and was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a registry entry that controls this and/or where the themes for the dialer are kept? or can anyone tell me where to get a cab for the o2 dialler theme?
Thanks guys

hero and standard message icon

i was just wondering if the message icon for hero and the stadard icon for messaging are the same or differ each other, do both show the little 1or2 in the shortcut when u have a new text? and also the lock screen, basically what i would like is a rom such as jacXrom 1.3r, cause i loveee the way it looks, but would also like to have the same text icon and lock screen as say the DDR whos ur hero personel rom that was released yesterday wich i believe is a pretty standard hero rom for the most part i mean, so with that explained could some tell me the best rom to grab that fits that criteria, or a way to impliment those 2 features to the JacXrom that i do so much love....thanx guys and gals, veritasaequita

Theme (or un-theme) HTC dialer

I'm using the Sense-Able ROM and the theme on the HTC Dialer is too dark for me (I'm color-deficient). Myself and others have asked how to replace it with the stock app with no luck... The ROM author has offered to fix it when he has the chance but I don't want him to feel he has to.
In the meantime, does anyone have other "themes" for this dialer that I could replace it with ? Or, as mentioned above, simply replace it with the stock look (I'm okay with that).
you could also try the dialer one app. has both light and dark settings. works much like the HTC dialer.
I like Dialer One but HTC's dialer keeps popping up. For example, during a call and you have to hit a number following a prompt, HTC's Dialer will open...
I used Dialer One for a while till I decided I didn't like it. You should erase defaults for the HTC dialer, then when you click on your new dialer, it should ask which one you want as default. then press save as default, then click Dialer One. I think that's what I did? hah. Hope that helped a little...
Peace
I did a vanilla theme a while ago for the htc dialer, you can find it here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679909&highlight=vanilla+htc+dialer
If those apk's don't work you can always pull the png's out and add them to your own.
look around here, someone made a file that replaces stock with dialer one, so you can use the phone button on the rosie laucnher to launch dialer one

Got this one installed and running... Will see how I like it.
Can I ask, why did you remove the divider lines ?

This is done by simply installing Dialer One and removing HtcDialer.apk. Even if you are using the Sense launcher, tapping Phone will bring up Dialer One.

You can't "Clear defaults" on the HTC Dialer.

dialer/ phonepad screen

Is there any way to change the colors/look of the dialer/phone pad screen ?
My wife hates the gray screen and buttons...
Android 2.1 (mine) and 2.2 (hers)

You might want to try out an app called Dialer One, its a replacement dialer and is customizable. To what extent I am unsure but I know it has a little different appearance than normal.
Thanx... I will show it to her and hope she likes the abilities it has...
I like it some, but I do wish you could get rid of the gray button colors, etc

Try youlu address book if you want an iphoney style.
Modifying the application to your needs and likes is also a possibility.
Just sayin'.
