G1 screen just keeps starting over and over - HELP ASAP! - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

just went from JACxHERO 1.5, CRC1 build ROM with partitioned sdcard and wanted to flash to MoCaDo's newest build; and everytime the G1 screen comes up, it goes away and just keeps starting over... over and over.
Can someone please help??
I can take the sdcard out and put it in my sd adapter/usb and add the JFv_RC33 on it and put the sd card back in my phone, reboot into recovery and flash the RC33 on the phone and it works; but when I try to put any other ROM on there, the G1 screen does the same thing again.

Are you wiping? If you are, or are not, run the fix_permissions script in the recovery terminal, it is a common problem. If no go, then do some more research.

Wow you really searched around, this thread may be a canidate for hijack.

I use quick reply and then insert image, copy+paste the location.

I need you to hold down the hijack for a little bit, gotta take the little one to the doctors, will be back in a hour.

Thats what I'm doing too. It's prolly my work computer then. The image might come from a site that is blocked allowing it not to show.
Well when you get back from the doc I'll be here.

Nice sig pic haha.

LOL

Yessir we are getting more pirates to join our hijacking ship.
codani- they had some other pictures I wanted to use but couldn't access them on my work computer.

before this gets completely retardly off topic and to some wild ****, let's answer the op's ?. there are commands that need to be typed in the recovery console to remove the leftover crap from a hero build or you could just reformat you card, wipe your phone and then reflash
now back to your regularly scheduled thread hijacking

with going with cyan 4.1.999, you have to grab the adp1.6 image then flash it, flash cyan on top of it and then do a wipe otherwise you will get force closes like a dirty *****

Cyanogen 4.199999 Apps2SD not moving from internal stgorage to SD

I am sure this is probably the wrong place to post this but I am so frustrated with trying to find answers on these forums I am ready to say to heck with all this and just go stock.
I rooted my phone using these instructions: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream/Magic32B_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
I then went here to prepare my SD Card to use Apps2SD: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Apps2SD_On_CyanogenMod
I followed all the instructions without a problem. The issue is when I install an app it does NOT go onto the SD card. I know this because the SD Card Secondary Available Space doe not go down with each app I install.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work. Otherwise there is almost no reason for me to have a rooted phone.
Thanks in advance for your help!
-'Lo0p
If you followed all steps to partition the card correctly then apps2sd is working.
Go into terminal emulator and type the following
cd /system/sd/app
ls
It should lists apk's. If it does, it is working fine. If not download the amon_ra recovery, it is very very easy to partition your card correctly with it.

Have you rebooted your phone after installing said apps?
Moved to Dream Q&A Forum
My money's on the SD card partitioning
The order of the partitions matters.
It needs to be:
fat32
ext2/3/4
swap (optional)
To find out, reboot into recovery (power down, hold home + power a few seconds)
Press alt-x to drop to console
su
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
print
What's it say?
Honestly, these type of people don't even deserve answers. Not only did the OP not take the time to search OR list the right version number (the number of 9s actually is important), but a question about this particular ROM obviously belongs in the thread for that ROM. If not, at least leave it out of the developer section; it clearly has nothing to do with development.
It seems like more and more posters are using this "I know that this is probably in the wrong place but I'll post it anyway" mentality, and it really seems to be dragging down the quality of the forum. If everyone followed this same mentality, there would be hundreds of grossly repetitive new threads every day, and the forum would become entirely unusable.
Besides, going stock wouldn't help your storage space issue, and you know that.

Virus/Synergy Rom Splash Screens

Hey guys, I know i've been quiet lately on the Lock Ring front. Mostly because everything is moving towards Sense 3.5 and the M10 tools haven't been updated to work with those Roms yet. Not to mention, i'm not running a 3.0 or 2.1 rom right now and it's a pain to switch back and forth just for one Lock Ring here and there. I decided to put together a few Splash Screens for Virus/Synergy Roms. I hope you like them.
For those of you who have never flashed a Splash Screen before. You will need to move the file to the root of your SD Card and rename it to PD05IMG.zip. You will then restart with the bootloader option and let it Fastboot. It will ask you do you want to update/apply, you will then hit volume up to apply the Splash Screen. Once it's done it will ask you to press Power to reboot. I strongly recommend you move or delete the PD05IMG.zip from your SD Card once your finished. If you leave it there and jack up your phone you wont be able to get to to Recovery without taking your SD card out and putting it in a reader or another phone to delete the PD05IMG.zip file.
As always, I'm not responsible if you brick your phone. Flash at your own risk

[ROM][Safestrap] Motoblur LT v1r4

Hello! Well, since we don't have Fastboot files, I've scaled back ideas for a ROM, and created this. Please keep in mind, THIS ROM IS FOR SAFESTRAP SAFE MODE ONLY.
You know the drill. If you break your phone, I am sorry, but you can't hold me accountable.
Honestly, it's pretty pathetic as far as custom ROMs go. It's based on the stock Safestrap that Hashcode provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528557
I basically just went to work trying to get rid of as much as possible. I stripped out a bunch of the Motorola apps and Verizon apps, and anything you can easily download from the market. The only significant things I left were Music, MotoPrint, the Blur Gallery (because I wasn't sure the effect that removing this would have on the Camera). I also got rid of Motorola's Car Home and added the stock one. For those of you who don't have official car mounts, you'll find Car Home now listed in the apps. I removed the Blur Home, and dropped in Zeam.

I welcome feedback, ideas, and suggestions. I would love to figure out how to get 1% battery increments, toggles in the dropdown, replace that horrible Blur Gallery, and in general, continue to try to de-blur the thing.
I look forward to hearing from all of you. Good luck, and happy ROMing!

Once you install to the second system, SafeStrap will continue to boot to that system until you switch it back.
