I am sure this is probably the wrong place to post this but I am so frustrated with trying to find answers on these forums I am ready to say to heck with all this and just go stock.
I rooted my phone using these instructions: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream/Magic32B_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
I then went here to prepare my SD Card to use Apps2SD: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Apps2SD_On_CyanogenMod
I followed all the instructions without a problem. The issue is when I install an app it does NOT go onto the SD card. I know this because the SD Card Secondary Available Space doe not go down with each app I install.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work. Otherwise there is almost no reason for me to have a rooted phone.
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you followed all steps to partition the card correctly then apps2sd is working.
Go into terminal emulator and type the following
cd /system/sd/app
ls
It should lists apk's. If it does, it is working fine. If not download the amon_ra recovery, it is very very easy to partition your card correctly with it.

Have you rebooted your phone after installing said apps?

My money's on the SD card partitioning
The order of the partitions matters.
It needs to be:
fat32
ext2/3/4
swap (optional)
To find out, reboot into recovery (power down, hold home + power a few seconds)
Press alt-x to drop to console
su
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
print
What's it say?
Honestly, these type of people don't even deserve answers. Not only did the OP not take the time to search OR list the right version number (the number of 9s actually is important), but a question about this particular ROM obviously belongs in the thread for that ROM. If not, at least leave it out of the developer section; it clearly has nothing to do with development.
It seems like more and more posters are using this "I know that this is probably in the wrong place but I'll post it anyway" mentality, and it really seems to be dragging down the quality of the forum. If everyone followed this same mentality, there would be hundreds of grossly repetitive new threads every day, and the forum would become entirely unusable.
Besides, going stock wouldn't help your storage space issue, and you know that.

I rooted my G1 Tmobile and now it's acting funny in some ways. I don't know if it's an overload of apps (I don't know how to use the 4gb micro sd card inside to free up memory on the phone), or perhaps a step missed along the way (I don't remember doing anything about a radio update), or I picked the wrong OS but I need some help.
-It doesn't always hang up on the first try. It will go back to the home screen but the call is still going now matter how many times I press the end call button.
-Sometimes it will get stuck in landscape mode
- I keep getting the message that I need to turn on the radio and also that I don't have a signal.
I didn't look in the right places for my initial guides and I'm afraid that I'm missing something. I took a screen shot of my system properties. Can someone her tell me where I messed up?

*update* I fixed my radio according to bigballa's post below (thanks) I've attached pics of my other two screens for further suggestions.
what class is your SD card?
try updating your radio?
u have the new radio
the old radio which is suppose to be used with rc33 is the 1.22....radio
Note: RC33 contains a radio update. I chose not to include this in the RC33 update itself, because I personally don't want it re-flashing the radio every time I apply this update. Here (md5: cf8714d273fb0274574d9e3831e11fdd) is a separate update that *just* flashes the radio. You only need to install this update once (unless you happen to flash an nbh at some point in the future, in which case you should re-flash the radio afterwards).
To check if you have the new radio, go into the about phone screen in settings and check the baseband info. It should end with 1.22.14.11

just went from JACxHERO 1.5, CRC1 build ROM with partitioned sdcard and wanted to flash to MoCaDo's newest build; and everytime the G1 screen comes up, it goes away and just keeps starting over... over and over.
Can someone please help??
I can take the sdcard out and put it in my sd adapter/usb and add the JFv_RC33 on it and put the sd card back in my phone, reboot into recovery and flash the RC33 on the phone and it works; but when I try to put any other ROM on there, the G1 screen does the same thing again.
Are you wiping? If you are, or are not, run the fix_permissions script in the recovery terminal, it is a common problem. If no go, then do some more research.
Wow you really searched around, this thread may be a canidate for hijack.

Thats what I'm doing too. It's prolly my work computer then. The image might come from a site that is blocked allowing it not to show.

Yessir we are getting more pirates to join our hijacking ship.
codani- they had some other pictures I wanted to use but couldn't access them on my work computer.
before this gets completely retardly off topic and to some wild ****, let's answer the op's ?. there are commands that need to be typed in the recovery console to remove the leftover crap from a hero build or you could just reformat you card, wipe your phone and then reflash
now back to your regularly scheduled thread hijacking

Pick Nook Color from right, download file and install from adb.
Or image to a sdcard (winimage or w32imager) to create a bootable sdcard.
Enjoy your new touchscreen recovery.

I'm not familiar with TWRP, is it some sort of ClockmodWork Recovery but with GUI?
Any more advantage?
It's recovery that uses the touch screen instead of buttons.
The backups don't appear to be compatible with CWM.
Adb doesn't recognize my NC or I'd install it. I did get to play a bit with it on my Touchpad tho.
Thanks Colchiro,
Another question.
As we all know CwMR v.3.0.2.8 will yield /data format problem on stock 1.2 or above, and that fixed by using CwMr v3.2.0.1 or above.
Does it this GUI TWRP resolve this incompatible issue? I meant, it works for all stock ROM versions?
Good question. I don't make the news, I just report it. I know they test it on many devices and flash, backup and restore many roms. I would think it'd be compatible, but I don't know 100%.
Also note, this is RC0 (release candidate), not a stable release. AFAIK, this is the first version released to the general public.
I see there's a post by eyeballer in the dev section. That'd be a good place for questions.
I want to try and have TWRP as an alternate recovery. However, I can't access a PC at the moment. Is there a way to copy the files to the boot partition by just using the Nook itself? I dunno, some file manager that can access the boot partition (tried File Expert, Astro and Root Explorer to no avail) or some commands that I can put in Terminal Emulator perhaps? Sorry if I'm being too difficult, I just don't have access to a PC and I'm dying to try this out, I've been waiting for these thing to get released since I first saw it.
Tapatalkin' it from my rooted NookColor running CM7 MiRaGe [KANG] [7.2 RC] overclocked @ 1.2 GHz
Please some solution.
I have GT-I9000 ... Phone still freezes .. After flashing remains in the internal memory data which does not delete or over recovery menu which I think is the reason why the phone still freezes ...
Pls some solutions

Good day. Once again I want to thank you for your help. I tried using my sd flasher but without success. I conclude that memory is somehow damaged because even after formatting data still remain in internal memory ...
Phone Have a nice rest in a drawer
Dear XDA,
I've freshly installed Maximus HD 45. And it's working, no problems there.
But when I look at my storage I see something strange. I have 12.10gb used by 'Other'.

I've found some strange paths on my phone (taken from WiFi File Transfer Pro):
../storage/emulated/0/
../storage/emulated/legacy/
../storage/sdcard0/
They all seem to redirect to my internal storage.
Probally some leftover bugs from previous custom roms?
Is it possible to completely clean my storage without removing TWRP and Maximus HD? Or in worst case scenario I don't mind reinstalling a clean Maximus HD. But I prefer not to do to much modding on the phone, like installing a different RUU. Currently I live in Zanzibar and I have limited options (and internet!) when something goes awohl.
If it's a whole lot of effort I keep it like this. It's annoying but I can live with it. But if it's an easy fix then I would gladly do that!
Thanks in advanced!
Lennard
that's normal. to see what's using up your space I recommend you use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile_infographics_tools.mydrive
I'm not a huge expert on the technical side of Android devices but in my experience, those are the three common file paths to access internal storage. I do not know the exact reason as to why there must be three file paths. But it is normal. Nothing to worry about.
