Does it work with AOSP? Last I was on BeanStalk 4.4.2 and my voicemails weren't going to VVM. I were receiving text notices from 9016 or some weird number!
Try it and see. I haven't tested it on AOSP yet.
Probably depends on the Rom.
Sometimes they can go through while reporting 9016.
Works on gpe 4.4.2

Only if you use the premium features like transcription and voicemail to email.
Anyone know how to kill that annoying 9016 message, maybe at the system level? It bothers me so much when I get that message! Total turn off to aosp for me cause of it. Any info is appreciated. I know it's possible, I just don't know how to do it.

I know on the LTE some roms didn't give 9016 and did.

If you are using a Sprint device it should work.
I haven't tested it on anything other than HTC.

Any special settings I need to setup?
I installed the APK, it went through fine, app looks good. Just left myself a voicemail, and it didn't work... I got a text from that weird 4 digit number telling me that I had a VM (well it was just a blank msg saying I had a voicemail...)
Any suggestions?
stop 9016 text

I called Sprint and they said the reason for it is cuz everyone doesnt have unlimited texting..
Hey everybody, I would like to know who still is using the Verizon texting app and how it compares, beats, loses to the other sms apps out there. I am using Google messenger since it was released and love its stability and mms send and receive through WiFi.
It's not pretty but it can send sms over WiFi and syncs your messages on all of your devices.

That seems pretty cool and similar to iPhone feature of sync texts on all devices.

It is considerably slower than a traditional SMS app (slower to launch and occasionally stutters) and you have to agree to Verizon holding on to your text messages for 90 days on their servers.

Recent updates make it look somewhat better. You can choose a grey theme or red one, and you can customize both app and convo background. as well as message bubbles.
It doesn't have animated gif support, though (at least receiving & viewing them)

I have tried all apps today and the best third party sms app Google messenger is the lightest at 12-15mb when hello sms is 35mb and textra is 156mb taking up a lot of ram also chomp sms.
Why not try Google's recently released stand-alone messaging app?

It is finicky for sure.
Google messenger app? Same as the stock AOSP app on Lolipop. It's extremely limited (no size adjustments for MMS, etc.), I don't like the look, etc. I actually quit Lollipop almost solely because of this on my HTC One. I know I can use another app, but I'm into using the stock app.

Same here. It's pretty convenient having a iMessage-like (SMS or Wi-Fi) program that can be synched up across my Android and iOS devices plus my Windows PC.
My bad. I don't know why I thought that.
