Manage Applications Errors - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Cheers,
I am running the following:
Google Android G1: Brown
ROM: Cyanogen 4.0.4
Recovery: Cyanogen v1.4
As of today I can no longer remove applications through the "manage applications" in settings, has anyone seen this issue. The following error through the exception browser is as follows:
unable to start activity: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Argument out of bounds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

try running fix_permissions from the recovery console, then repairing the ext file systems. if all else fails reflash 404 if it still doesnt work wipe and reflash 404

Thanks! I will give it a shot.

Bah no dice, maybe I will reflash to 4.1.11.1 .
Thanks for your help.

HTTP error 400, Bad Request

I'm trying to troubleshoot the following problem but I can't seem to fix it. I would appreciate any suggestions and tips.
When I try to go to any "https://" page I receive the error "HTTP error 400 , Bad Request". It happens with Browser and with Steel. Opera Mini is not affected nor is any other application that accesses the web (unless it opens a "https://" address). I've tried clearing the data from Manage Applications and also from within Browser>Settings and settings in Steel. I've un/reinstalled Steel. I've tried the suggestion posted elsewhere on xda:
"seems like your database file for the browser is corrupted. did you put your /data/data on sd? you should be able to delete it and reboot it should recreate. it should be in /data/data/com.android.browser. try to rename it first just in case... you will lose all your bookmarks though... but I think it's already corrupted so you probably lost it already.
adb shell mv /data/data/com.android.browser /data/data/com.android.browser.OLD
adb shell mkdir /data/data/com.android.browser
adb shell reboot"
This had no effect; the problem persists.

Thanks for putting all your info up but what rom are you running or did I overlook it.
Yeah, the ROM version would be helpful, but seems like you're running a pre-JAC 2.63 ROM as you're having issues with HTTPS. If you were to search for HTTPS in that thread, you would see that it has been resolved.

Thanks for the lead. However, on Saturday morning my sdcard inexplicably "died". I can't access it (so the phone will not boot) and I can't "see" it in Windows, OS X, or Ubuntu using either the phone or a card reader. Go figure. So now I'm off to search the forum for any way to fix this problem :-(

The last two files I downloaded were Fatal1ty Hero-Full Dream v1.2-signed.zip and JACHero2.3.zip. My sdcard is now unreadable for some reason so I guess I can't go look at which one I actually installed (yes, insert emote for dumb-a**). It had a swap manager and wi-fi tether built in. I'm searching through the threads now but I don't see anything exactly like what I "think" I need, which is- trying to see my card again via the phone, Windows, OS X, Ubuntu, or using adb or similar. I've gone beyond my knowledge on this so I'm not sure what to do next.
One other thing- If I boot the phone using Home + Power and then Alt+X I can cd \sdcard even though it is not physically installed in the phone. I'm guessing that this may be a good place to start looking for answers, yes?
MOD: Please move/delete if I'm posting this in the wrong forum.
Thanks

Overall Hero rom problem

"Sorry! The process system has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I get that message every few mins when I am on a Hero rom. It keeps looping and looping until I reboot. Anyone know a fix?
If u have cyanogen's recovery 1.4 go to console and fix the filesystem and go into the console and type fix_permisstions. Also collects a logcat and post it in the thread of the rom ur using so the dev can debug it

[Q] tpToolbox v41 - Issues & Error ..need help

Hello;
I am very new here and was trying to repair my 16 GB HP TP via other JCS post and forums on youtube, rootzwiki etc. but no success get my touchpad repairs.
recently I found JCS new toolbox v41. and downloaded it. it looks very awesome and easy to use. Thanks JCS for making it easy for people with little tech background......
However, when I run new toolbox v41 on my tp. I got following errors.
1) When I tried to use complete data reset option I get following error
Error: Invalid partition info: end-gap greater than 1 percent of mmc
2) When I tried to use Create WebOS Volume option, It failed again with following error:
>>> Obtaining existing Volume size….
Determining volume size….
Problem w/ vgchange –ay
Error: volsize all failed rc=1
I downloaded CWM DM and Non DM ...and copy files on Palm, Inc. Folder and re-run the toolbox again...but got the same error as above.
can someone help, what should I do next? or if someone direct me which thread I should have to follow?
I had read many many thread on rootzwiki ..still no success yet.... thought HP toolbox v41 can assist me... but still need guidance..

Have you tried v40? I think v41 is still under development.

Did you get this working? i'm getting the same errors and I've tried with both versions of TPToolbox but can't get anywhere
I'm just going to bump this. I'm having the same issue with v42. I soft bricked my TP and used TPdebrick to get it to boot again but now I'm having all sorts of issues with TPToolbox. I also think my partitions are hosed as /system and /data both show up as 0mb in TWRP.

TP Toolbox - Complete Data Reset Fails?

I am trying to do a clean install of the current lineage ROM. Following the direction provided by RolandDeschain79, I have attempted to reset the data partition on my TouchPad, but I get the following error message
ERROR: LVM config erase check FAILED. Possible read-only failure.
I have tried to reset permissions using TWRP and in the android OS using FX with SU permissions. Neither has worked. I also tried using ACMEUninstaller2 to wipe out the current Android install, but that didn't work either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the idea @shumash. Unfortunately, the alternative method still requires the TouchPad Toolkit to do a complete data reset...
III. Touchpad/PC Execution steps:
Boot into WebOS Recovery ( giant USB symbol ) with cable connected to PC.
Run regular tptb_v42_win.bat and perform:
1) 'Complete Data Reset'
2) resize the Android volumes.
The 'Complete Data Reset' and 'Resize Android Volume' functions in TPToolKit both fail. The only ToolKit function which works for me is the A6 Firmware Update.

You probably have the "read only" problem. Search around and you'll find several references, none of which have a solution. Sorry.
