so i dropped my x1 today on the corner(yea... thnx invisibleshield) and it got ruined. the screen itself just doesnt seem to work anymore, i take out the battery and put it back and try to turn it on and it only vibrates, the screen shows nothing. any help? thnx
remove the battery. Apply pressure, great one, on the slightly bulging part. this is the area where the main board connects to the screen. if it still wont work, bring it to the service center.
I have dropped mine, and i openned everything then miraculously it worked again.
okay, which slightly buldging part? i appreciate the help.
can anyone help? i realy dont want to open it and i dont have warranty.

thnx
Sounds like it's been damaged by pressure in your pocket... Probably needs to be repaired.
the same problem. I am just waiting to get it back from the service
Unfortunately the same problem for me.
gotta replace digitizer/lcd
its not hard
Hi everyone!
Sad thing happend with me, 4 days ago i fell into a river and sadly ma diamond was in the pocket. I dryed it for three days, turned it on, everthing else works, besides the screen light. So i dissambeled the phone to bits and pieces, only i didn't took the LCD out(read it from somewhere that you can't put it back on afterwards so it will work). I reassambeled it and still same situation. If you look it from a angel you can see the icons and even touchscreen works. Only problem is still the backlight. So is there something i can do to make the backlight work again or i have to buy a new screen and is it hard to swap the screen ?
Hi,
Not sure if you will need to replace the screen, if you can get to the power settings you can see if the backlight has been manually turned down. If this fails and a screen replacement is required i will tell you how easy/difficult it is once i have replaced mine, due to unfortunate circumstances.
yeah, i got into the power settings, everthing is okey there like it should be , so i have to change the screen. Is there some kind on intrcutions for changing it? it would help me a lot
Well ive had my phone for a while with hyperdragon iv iolite working completely fine without any hardware or software issues for months. Today i took out the battery of the phone, and put it back in and turned it on, but when the phone turned on, the touch scrren is not responding to anything. everything works fine with all the buttons and keyboard, but the touchscreen isnt working. What could have gone wrong just by taking out the battery. I also havnt dropped or damaged the phone in anyway so i dont see it being a hardware problem. Thanks. I really need help
I have heard of people who has been able to solve this problem by hard resetting the devise. I have had not such luck....comes to be that from sliding wear and tear the connector to the screen gets damaged. My screen is completely disable, I found someone that was able to buy a second hand phone on ebay and was able to switch the connector. Looks like to much of a hassle to me, so Im sticking with this until I switch phones.
Hey guys, sorry for bringing this up.
Whenever i dial, screen goes black and doesn't come back on.
If i place it flat on a table, then it gets lit but as soon as i rotate the device it goes black again.
My HD7 recently started having this problems...
It started happening after i replaced the micro sd inside with a bigger one.
So my concern is that somehow it moved or got dust when i removed the back plastic cover? Where is it placed anyway?
I tried hard resetting 2 times but nothing works. It would be cool if there was a registry or app to take control of it. Can somebody help?
PS. i cannot send it back because i live in Albania (no official htc shops either around here)
Thanks!
Hello,
The proximity sensor is located on the top left of the device, you can see it when viewed under a bright light. Have you applied any screen protectors which can interfere with them? Replacing the sd card should not have any effect on the proximity sensor. When you rotate the device when the call is placed, the screen should go black by default cause of the sensor
@rhn thank you for your reply.
My phone does not have any screen protector or cover of any kind. Also,if i rotate it while in call it still remains black. As soon as i press the call button, screen goes black and wont come back until the call is ended by the person on the other side.
Really really annoying... Oh sometimes it even flashes after the call has ended...
Sounds like a hardware fault ...have you tried updating your rom?You can find a compatible rom in the rom development subforum..
Yep,tried that too. Just updated today and still the same issue.
It also happened after i changed the micro sd,so maybe something has moved in there. There's no other way than try to open the device and check it out,i guess :/
If you can think of something else, let me know
Warranty
Warranty replacement worked for me.

Thank god i still have my great HD2 so i can start opening this phone without fear
Here's what is going on...
My Galaxy S I9000 (Bell Canada) was water damaged, after being dried for many days it turned on, but the battery almost immediately drained. I left the phone and forgot about it. Bought a new cheap phone without a SIM.
More recently I got a new battery for it and it turned on and was working great, staying charged and everything. When I went to the service provider to get a new SIM for it, we powered down the phone, pulled the battery and SIM card and put the new SIM in followed by the battery. Afterwards the phone would not power on, but the two face buttons on either side of the 'Home' button lit up and would react to touch. I tried removing the battery and SIM a few times and would get the same result.
After bringing my phone home and leaving it with the battery out for a few days, I thought I would try it again. It powered up again as if nothing was wrong. To test it again, I pulled the battery and SIM, replaced them, and my black screen/won't turn on problem returned.
Every so often it will power on and be useable. It is recognized by Kies, I've flashed it to firmware 2.3.4.
I'm looking for any helpful suggestions for what might solve my problem. I'm wondering if it's a hardware problem and short of isolating the part of the phone that is faulty and replacing it, the phone is toast.
Thanks for your time, and I apologize for the length of my post.
My friend has dropped the SGS into a pool before. Problem was fix after buying a new battery.
Either: Damaged screen + Contact. Or the reaction with water and the battery. hydrogen gas prevents screen from connecting to main-board.
It still turns on occasionally, and when it powers up, it's as if nothing is wrong. Screen works, displays everything fine, colour is crisp, screen reacts to touch. The big problem is it won't turn on all the time. Would what you said still explain this?

The only thing I know (assuming the screen or motherboard is 100% functioning) is hydrogen gas being present. You might know TV remote with old battery casually respond to presses. After cleaning contacts it should work again.
I disassembled the phone and cleaned all the contacts on the main board with rubbing alcohol, I did not do anything to the screen though. Should I try taking it apart again and breaking it down further? (ie. separate the screen?)

No, I am starting to think it's a hardware fault if that didn't work
