Looking for someone who can do me a favor?! - Off-topic

During my summer holidays my girlfriend fell in love with a special body lotion called "Fior di Magnolia". Not very expensive and it feels and smells good.
We always did our shopping in one of those EuroSpin markets.
Unfortunately there is no way of getting this lotion in Germany.
My question for now:
Is there a person living in Italy - perhaps next to a EuroSpin market - that could buy it for me and send me some kind of personal care package?
I think we might have one bottle left, so I will attach a photo of the bottle as soon as possible.
The payment could be via PayPal. But we can discuss others ways, too.
A cup of coffee or a piece of chocolate included...

This cracked me up!

So, I ordered Chinese today for lunch. After finishing it, I crack open the fortune cookie I got with my meal. I read my fortune and flip the piece of paper around to see my lucky numbers. Well...no lucky numbers...but, guess what was on the other side?

The same fortune in Spanish!
This is my first such experience but I am pretty sure you all have seen such already.

I met a man the other day who told me he hadn't had a bite in a week, so I bit him....
you guys like chinese food ?welcome to china when the olympic game open haha....welcome to beijing and taste our delicious food )

So...

I'm on the team and all, but I still need to get a little bit cooler with some more tammates (haters now-a-days. Used to be so easy when M_T_M and Mr Clown were kids. Just bop them on the head with a stick ) I'm gonna go early tomorrow to talk to the coaches and get my pads (back in M_T_M and Mr Clown's day, tey had to get these on their own. The King of the Cave didn't provide it.) and all. Got my cleats, gloves, cup, compressions shorts, and mouth guard.
People, make sure you get your kids into sports when their young so when their older, they have a TIGHT grip on it man. This sucks.
Wish me luck.

Who wears glasses?

I do. Sometimes they can be a pain. I hate it when I go swimming and I can't see a damn thing.
Also, when I am laying in bed messing with my phone, I have to take them off or I'll get a headache.
Anyone else like this?
get lasik, best 3400 I've ever spent.

edit: only teenage idiots want ricer cars.
Ditto on glasses suck. They just get in the way of everything (ie, when dressing, showering, sleeping, swimming, etc)
But actually, my nearsightedness is not too bad; only about -3.00 or -4.00 diopters. So I admit I don't have it as bad as a lot of others.
To compound my problems, I can't wear contacts. I have a fear of eye-touching. (Remember in an episode of Friends, Rachel has this problem?)
I would totally go for lasik surgery. I've heard a lot of good stuff about it.
Oh, regarding the argument between lasik vs a nicer car...that's just silly. If you choose to go with a nicer car, you should sell it to do lasik and then get a cheaper car.
Tip on swimming: There are goggles with corrective lens. They look an feel just like regular goggles and don't cost that much more.
I am relatively new to wearing glasses (just over a year). I hate it, but I'm to much of a p***y to get contacts.

Ricer - (Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt) A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to): - Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder - Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747 - Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool - Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself - Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire - Clear tail lights and corner signals - A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine) - Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case. The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group ...
LoL
Yea, I wear glasses, but going through about 8 different pairs I got used to them. Speaking of glasses I will soon need to change my lenses since they are so scratched up lol. I'm worried that if Ido get lasik I wont get used to not having glasses.

you'll poke yourself in the face a few times the first couple of months, trying to adjust glasses that aren't there, but for me and my 20/400 vision, it was an amazing thing.
Had procedure about 1130am. didn't feel anything other that some pushing/pulling (had valium and numbing drops).
Got home about 1300. Wife decided to do some shopping while I was passed out in the car....
Woke up in car to eyes on FIRE. Immediately went into the house and took some motrin and benadryl and passed out.
Woke up about 8pm. Looked up and could read the clock from across the room (before I could not even see that there was a big "E" on the chart from the chair. Had to walk to about 5-10 feet to see it).
The next morning I went for my post op visit and was 20/20.
Now I am 20/15 in one eye and 20/10 in the other. Like I said best 3400 I've ever spent.
Came with free lifetime correction but 5 years later I am still seeing great!
When i didn't wear glasses, i cann't see clearly! I hate!
Chicks who wear glasses can be sooooo sexy
I don't really go swimming too often, I don't picture myself wasting $100 on something I will only wear once a month
This message is brought to you by my Samsung Vibrant, using the XDA app.
I wear glasses.....
actually i just keep 'em in my pencil case with the box.
cause I just don't need 'em. after all.
thanks to my random eyesight change... lol was somewhere 150/75 and now its 70/70
thanks OP for the thread. Im gonna see what happens if I wear my glasses all day at school next week.
yeah, i'm farasighted and need my glasses to perform any task that involves reading small print-funny,i use to have perfect vision when i was younger-i was the only sibling to not wear glasses. i don't mind, except trying to keep them clean can be a pain,lol...

Also the price of Lasik. For $3500 I'll be a few thousand away from this (camera not included) and yes, the money I spent on my photography gear can easily buy a ricer car...or a few Lasic surgeries.
I've worn glasses since I was 4 years old (I'm 17 now). I got used to it over time.
I started wearing contacts when I was 12 years old. At first, I was scared of poking my eyes. But when I really noticed how different I looked and how my peripherals were horrible, I became brave enough to start wearing contacts. Now when I look to my sides or up/down, my vision isn't obstructed by a frame (or no lens when looking up/down). I really love contacts now. It's nice not having this heavy frame on my nose.
I've actually contemplated on getting lasik surgery. It might actually happen next summer (when I get out of high school), but I'm not sure...(tough times in the economy right now).
BTW, has anyone gone swimming with contact lenses on? Or is that something that shouldn't be done? I remember swimming with some friends a few years ago and I had no glasses/contacts on, and I got smacked with a beach ball...
how can you hate glasses?! Get some nice ones and everyone around you will be jealous.. got some nice Bench. frames.. love em!!
haha lol loved this thread and guess what?
I have worn my glasses for two days and guess what responses I've got...
1.) take them off. you look like a r.tard/ nerd
2.) oh I havn't seen you with glasses before. you look weird.
what a funny to do at school for last week of term

[Q] How was the protection for your shipped Note?

I have been buying Notes for the whole family, we love 'em. I have been getting from different retailers so have had a chance to see units from different regions, batches, etc.
Most retailers have shipped with some form of bubble wrap or packing peanut, never a combination of both. I would say average protection from what I have seen.
I love Negri Electronics don't get me wrong...but I would say shipping a $700 electronic device with absolutely no packing protection, inside just a green plastic bag is not just unacceptable, but it also violates FedEx's electronics shipping guidelines for sellers. The phone box was warped and wouldn't you have it, screen issues out of the box. More than likely occured during shipment due to no packing protection. Also no invoice in or on the box.
Share with us your experience.
A green plastic bag as protection? Wow.
First you should obviously contact the place you bought the phone from and complain. Secondly, you should inform FedEx about this and provide them with the photos and possibly the plastic bag itself should they wish to see that.

Spoke with Ryan Negri, the CEO, who was incredibly rude but in the end said he would authorize a full refund RMA via mail then hungup on me. Snail mail? Email? Awesome stuff. He also said I am banned from future purchases from his company...
Depending on the outcome I will post the wonderful chat and conference call with Mr. Negri so you can see what this company is all about.

I can't provide pictures since I've sent it back for return in the same box.
Same size box as OP with brown crumpled up paper that didn't even close to being enough to wedge the Note box to stop it from shuffling around. And a loose Euro-plug. My Note box wasn't even sealed at all. Only one side had a sticker on it with IMEI # - no S/N printed. Did not include a warranty information card and the bag the battery was in looked a little beat up.
They charge a 10% restocking fee even if you want to return it because of noticeable lines, uneven brightness, gamma, and banding issues. This is currently what I'm going through since they've deemed my phone as "up to Samsung's specs". My phone's firmware was UBKK2 - Brazil I believe. Made in China.
I just bought one at those placed that sell world phones. I got it for 580 hooked up. If you guys want to buy it from me for 650 shipped properly I could do that for you?

Yikes. Sounds like a nightmare. I purchased my Note through Amazon.com. Well, my order was fulfilled by Amazon but the Note came from Global Mobiles. The package with the phone was packed in another box with air pillows and all arrived just fine. I did purchase my Galaxy Tab 7.7 from Negri and the package did arrive in a green bag but the Fed Ex box also included other paper packaging materials to cushion the Tab box.
This is again something I like about Finland: every time I've ordered some expensive gadgetry it has always arrived very properly packaged, hell, sometimes it feels like some places overdo the packaging just to be extra-safe.

This is the practice I encourage in my business. I'm willing to eat a few cents on some packing peanuts or bubble wrap instead of:
1. potentially damaging my inventory
2. potentially losing a customer and his/her's future business
3. having my customer support then deal with complaints/exchanges/returns
Everything is a cost of doing business. But we all deserve a little bubble wrap and packing peanuts
Called Expansys and placed my order through phone. Pretty friendly support as I shared with them my recent experience.
They notated my order to provide extra packing protection. New batch arriving March 6
The only thing that bothers me is how all these businesses are using FedEx now. That's my personal gripe though.

Definitely a heavy impact on the box (the edge). That's not nice...
But mine (T-Mobile) was sent loosely in a parcel without any further protection and the box had no issues whatsoever...

Let's talk bikes

Not the kind you pedal. The kind you twist a throttle on and hang on for dear life.
I know that a few of us ride, some of the guys I have seen here are on sport bikes and a few do track days. An HTC Rezound thread we were in had the topic of track days come up and rather than continue to derail Scott's thread I figured I would move the discussion here.
So, who here rides, and which of you do track days? What tracks? What kind of bike?
Have had a few myself... 2 Suzuki's, 4 Honda's, a Yamaha, a KTM, 6 Ducati's and now a Triumph. I live half an hour from Road Atlanta, and only a few hours away from tracks like Talledega, Barber, Jennings GP, Roebling Road, etc...
My girlfriend rides a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and just did her third track day.
Anyone live around here also do them? Would be cool to meet up at one.
We try to do 1 a month if possible, but average more like every other month. Have a ton of videos on YouTube of the track riding, we have a real blast.
Anyone else?
Thread is worthless without pics.

Well, I won't suck up bandwidth posting pics of all 15 bikes, but here is my current ride, and a video of me on the track with it... The track video was from last July at Road Atlanta. The bike had not been tuned yet, was 18lbs heavier than it is now and was down on power with a leaking head gasket which I found out later to the tune of $1000. Was really bummed about that, but got it fixed, new exhaust and a tune and the thing is considerably quicker now, can't wait to get it back out on that track and see how much faster it will go.
The video(more are on my channel):

I have not, but I would love to have one. An SV650 is not really a dual sport though. It's a naked vtwin sportbike. If you want to go off road a bit and hit some trails as well as tour on pavement, then you want something more like a Suzuki DR-Z, Kawasaki KL-R, things like that.

To be honest, I know people that have them. You can take them on some fire roads and things, but I would not take one on a truly off-road trail.
It all depends on the terrain. The VStrom is very capable and versatile, but if you want to actually hit mud and trails, the DR-Z400 with some semi off-road tires is the one I would pick, or a Kawi KL-R650 or something. Those are basically large dirtbikes with lights and blinkers, whereas the V-Strom is an SV650 with a little more ground clearance that you can sorta take on very limited off road stuff.
The DR-Z and KL-R are actually dirt bikes made to be street legal, so if you have mud, ruts, trails and stuff to go through, I would use that. You can blast down a trail in the mud, jump stuff and then hose it off and ride it around town and on normal streets. That is really the best of both worlds, and 70mph doesn't suck either! hehe
Here is the one that I would pick if I was gonna spend more time offroad than on...
http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product.../DR650SE/2012/DR650SE.aspx?category=dualsport
Single cynlinder, air cooled, very solid and simply motor. Not much to go wrong, like dropping and cracking the radiator or something. Just give it gas and oil and go. It's a 650 so it has nice torque, and you could take that on an MX track and jump it and hit muddy trails and stuff and still ride it around town.
If you are looking more for advanture riding or touring, then I would say that the VStrom is an awesome choice. You just have to ask yourself how much offroad time you think you will have, and will it just be dirt roads, or real serious off-roading?
I used to have one of them fast bikes but then I got old and bought me this one
It saves me about $85 a week on gas compared to my F150
Yamaha Virago. Thinking about upgrading to a bigger bike but unable to do so right now

Those are alot cooler, but I have dirt bikes. Not looking for something I can hit trails with and go into town. Looking for something I can load down with saddle bags and not look back for a few weeks. Head up to some national parks and be able to ride down the logging roads. I'd like the on road handling of the vstorm. That is where I'd have it mostly. I mean the trip up to Yosimeti sp? is mostly highway. But I'd take the smaller state highways and camp out the whole way. That's what I'm looking for. Plus the dr, you would have to re route the exhaust to fit bags on it. It's not really a tourer.

My buddy had a Virago 750, great bike!
I think that it is cool that today, you can be "old"(LOL) and get a fast bike that is comfortable.
There has been a surge of demand for fast capable sportbikes that don't require a trip to the chiropractor when you get home. So there are a ton of naked, upright bikes, that are light, agile, and have ripping motors in them.
Yamaha FZ1
Triumph Speed Triple 1050
Triumph Street Triple 675
Ducati Monster 696/696/1100
Ducati Streetfighter 1098/848
Ducati Hypermotard 796/1100 EVO
Kawasaki Z1000
Kawasaki Ninja 1000(amazing bike, very comfortable, a ZX10 for the street)
Honda CB1000r
You get the idea. Lots of demand for bikes that are lightning quick, you can toss on the track, or ride across the state on in relative comfort. With the economy tightening up, a lot of people cannot afford to have the cruiser for cruising, the race bike for the track, and a sportbike for fast street riding or the Mtns... They want one bike that can do very well across the board and there are some amazing options out there right now.
Best bang for the buck for a bike that is incredibly light, agile enough to hang with an R6 in the Mtns, can do a track day with ease, and let you tool around town all day long in comfort, is the Triumph Street Triple 675. Strap some soft luggage to it and go touring, and when you get there go tear it up in the Mtns with the sportbike crowd...

Ah, then in that case your best bet is the VStrom for the money, they are meant for exactly what you are describing. If the money were available, I would probably go with a Triumph Tiger 800, but the cost difference is substantial, so while the Tiger might offer better offroad with the same on road capabilities, I think the cost difference doesn't make it as good a value. It costs a lot more, and that money could be spent on accessories, luggage, gear and a year's worth of fuel. LOL
Have a track day coming up, anyone in the Southeast that is interested, I can get you an invite. It's a private track day at Little Talladega on Sunday April 15.
Went riding with the girlfriend this weekend up in the Mtns. She overshot a turn and went wide and into the gravel. Ended up tucking the front and as it dig in to the dirt it sorta high sided her over the front. Just some bruises and busted plastic, she dusted herself off and continued the 100 mile ride home.
