Yes, unless you back up your APN settings. "Backup For Root Users" backs up your APN settings

The answer to your question is no it will not be locked anymore. Once you unlock it, it stays unlocked no matter what.

Well, if its unlocked via imei, Im safe to unlock the bootloader... at least thats as far as I could gather by all the info scattered around.
To help narrow down the possible unlock method used, I can add that whenever the phone is rebooted, and there is a sim from a different Service Provider than the "original" one, it asks for a network unlock code. By tapping "skip" the phone then boots up and works just fine with any other Service Provider's sim.
This leads me to believe the phone was unlocked by other means than IMEI. And hence, all hopes of unlocking the bootloader are obliterated.

Nice! Have fun!
hello guys,
i have the htc one with contract from orange (UK) and im trying to unlock it to put a othe simcard on it, i have already changed the rom (that mean taht i have rooted, unlock the bootloader and i have setup the recovery) but still when i put the other simcard (its a greek one) still get the bar that the network is locked any ideas?
[ROM] Android Revolution HD 9.1 is the rom that im using right now
You have to pay to unlock it, changing the ROM alone won't do anything

do u know any good/safes sites?
I don't unfortunately, I never buy locked phones so I've never needed to unlock a phone
http://www.cellunlocker.net/ is well known and resourceful for network unlocks
Can I lose 'Network Unlock'?
Suppose I take a Nandroid Backup, Unlock, and restore backup-- do I lose the Unlock?
What about if I install a new ROM?
If I convert to GPE?
etc...
The question comes from the perspective of I want to do the above, and not lose the Unlock...

Not sure what you're referring to when you say network unlock, but if you mean unlocking your boot loader thru HTC dev then no.

Sorry, if that was not clear.
When I talk about 'Network Unlock' I am referring to the practice of a carrier locking the phone to their network.
I my case I have a Rogers M8 and want to use a T-Mobile (Germany) sim. When I put the sim in the phone requests a network unlock code.
I have the code from Rogers, but it fails. This _could_ be related to using a custom ROM (slimkat). If I revert to stock, to unlock can I just restore a nandroid backup of slink at and remain unlocked?
(Can I move this post? Not sure why it ended up in the M8 Sprint forum)

For the benefit of anyone looking for the answer:
I did a nandroid, installed the stock ROM 'from revolution', inserted the new sim and unlocked the lock, restored nan droid. The unlock remains unlocked.

The unlock remains as long as you won't do the factory reset with the code in Dialer. I did once and everything was gone. Some code line ##????#

Hi all.
Sorry if i'm repeating a question which has probably been asked many times here, but i can't find any help.
I have Z1 C6903 with root status "bootloader unlock allowed: no".
Is there any possible (safe/unsafe/other) way or method to change this to "yes" and to unlock my bootloader?
Thanks for your help.
I don't believe so. If it says no, unknown, or anything other than yes you are out of luck same boat unfortunately.

Majority of the posts i've read say this.
But, i've also read that if you can get your provider/operater to SIM unlock your phone (which i can for free), then you can contact sony by email, send them the sim unlock code wirh other relevant data, and if the data is correct and the code genuine, they pick up your phone and change the status to "yes" within 15 days, and return it back to you.
I'm trying to find out if thats true or just a rumor.
Aha, I wasn't even aware of this! But a quick search looks like you might be right, I had no idea...
[GUIDE] Unlocking Bootloader with Unlock Allowed:NO!
I think I will look into this....

Yeah, i saw that thread already, but i dont see how using test pins is possible with the z1, as it doesnt have a temovable back cover or battery?
Please post your findings here, and i'll get a sim unlock code from my operator and then try to contact sony.
Good luck to us!
Hi if I root my S6 Active will that also unlock it. No I know everyone is going to respond rooting and unlocking are different things but the question is if I root it will it still be network locked. Or does the act of installing new software on the device remove the network lock?

It won't SIM unlock it by rooting it, they're 2 different things. You need the SIM unlock code to use it on a network other than ATT.
Are you sure

Are you sure does that mean that the network lock is hardware on the device and not just software. I mean if I erase all the software and install a new custom ROM if the network lock is software based it should be gone. The reason that I ask is I just got my phone back from samsung for a repair and now I can't unlock it. AT&T and Samsun have no idea why the unlock code doesn't work. So I need to find a way to unlock it without AT&T's help.
Will fix it

Hmmmmmmm
thats unsual.....
Not sure I have ever heard that flashing a new rom would Unlock a phone to any sim before and indeed that would mean just reflashing a full stock rom on samsung devices would unlock them.....
In my opinion you probably talked to someone who had no idea what they was talking about and said what you wanted to hear..
I could be wrong but am sure MANY others will confirm what I have said...
