Need Fast Clean 6.5 rom - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

Been out of the scene for a while and just wanted to know sofar whats the stablest and quickest 6.5 rom out? also with as little kibble as possible added to it (i like to add my own cabs).

There are two things you have to do before you can find one!
1. Read!!
2. Flash!! Until you find the right one for you....
Good luck, and WB.

I suggest:

ive tried a few and sofar they arent what im looking for. between work and school i dont have the time to load all the roms out there and benchmark, im just asking for user comparisons between roms witouth having to go thru 50+ pages of replies to a release thread.

I tried energy fusion and Miri's rom and thus far Miri's is the cleanest fastest ROM ive used IMO and just as Miri stated in the post he doesn't add anything extra that he doesn't feel is necessarry. I'm rather new to the scene so i'm getting used to it but Miri's so far is definitely my favorite

miri's roms are clean and bug-free

My suggestion would be ROMeOS by Monx.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560899
He has his version 1.4 available for the public.
However if you like the rom, you can make a donation and gain access to the upgraded roms he has made since then.
The most current version is 1.11 (again, only available to supporters)
But in my honest opinion, it has been the most stable, kibble free rom out there so far.

If you are looking for a clean ROM as in no TF3D then I suggest you try my Lite ROMs

Suggestions
I think you need to make a initial decision to what you want first.
No Touchflo3d, TF3D 2.1 or TF3D2.5.
I personally like Atomang's approach. A OEM look with tweaked setting for speed and stability. I like to install all the eye candy and cabs myself. So that might be the a good direction for you.
His v3.7 wm6.5 w/tf3d 2.1 was outstanding. Bloody fast with stability to boot. I am currently testing his v4.0 beta release2 with tf3d 2.5 and it is fast. Most importantly is that I can consider them for daily use.
Bottom Line: If this is your first "Cooked ROM" install. Try v3.7 wm6.5 w/ tf3d2.1.

If you really don't have the time then I'd stick with Miri's 2.1 V3.0 of 25th Sept
Clean and simple and no memory leak/battery issues or bugs

Going to have to agree here. Miri's 3.0 release of his Manila 2.1 ROM has been the fastest and most stable ROM I've flashed yet. There is no more annoying time zone pop-up, the memory management is incredible and you get the bleeding edge Manila with weather on the homescreen. I also appreciate the OEM look and the ability to customize the ROM the way I see fit.

Dave! Where are you? LOL

List of most stable ROM's approved for everyday use!

Hey fellow beta testers and chefs... I decided to create this thread so all of us are aware of what ROM's can we actually use and not have to sniff for bugs (that's if your purpose is solely for testing). I know theres a ROM library stick thread but it's still not clear especially to the noobs as to which ROMs are completely bug free. So let me do the honours of posting the first ROM :
Touch X 10.1 ULTIMATE X-TREME "FINAL"
Feel free to add on the thread so we can have a list going please! And thanks for reading my post!
UnOff v5 by Spikegotti - bug free, 100% original xperia on top of wm6.5, stable, fast and very battery efficient.
Ok here's the issue I faced with the v5 UnOff and older ones. The Xperia dialer skin has to be disabled in order for the scrolling bug. But I really like that skin and it represents our X1's; without the skin it's nasty. Please correct if theres a fix without removing the skin. Thanks! So basically when I mean bug free..It has to be PERFECT!

There won't be any one "perfect" you can always expect one or more bugs atleast, as this is windows we are talking about
smabergg!! I consider your rom perfect...OK OK near perfect...lets use Touch X 10.1 as the basis of comparison... lol Alright completely forgot that this is windows mobile we're dealing with...so the purpose of this thread is to extremely narrow down the rom's and be as strict as we can with no room for a little more than minor bugs..so we can all peacfully flash our roms knowing that almost everything will work as expected..hope I'm making myself clear!
P.S. almost forgot..THANKS TO ALL THE CHEFS OUT THERE FOR COOKING THESE AMAZING ROMS, WITH FEATURES THAT AN X1 IS NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO DISPLAY...THANKS FOR YOUR HARDWORK!
I am not a professional user. My little experience with good X1 roms is:
WM 6.1
1. nX1i v1.04 [SuperLiteSpeed]: exceptionally fast and stable ROM even after installation of your staff. Norti provided all needed programs in separate installation. For me, it is a perfect ROM.
2. Jack V3.x
3. touch X 10.1
WM 6.5:
I believe that Agent_47 provides the most stable and fast ROM. For me, the best releases are
V 2.3
FS 2.9
Experio 1.8.5: my favorite
UnOff roms, Christian's roms, and Energy roms are also good but I usually feel them less responsive after installation of my staff. Grab's Barebone rom is also good but I felt that it has some troubles with 3D applications.

Here it is... I don't recommend the newer ones yet, bugs still haven't been squashed.
everyone complains about bugs, but do you guys know that the builds which were leaked were not the final? the builds are still being worked on by microsoft so dont expect anything bug-free.
almost every rom wears a different build, meaning different bugs and speed,
and dont complain about the rom becoming slow after installing apps, every single operating system slows down after installing apps, even linux and apple os x...
if your storage drawer is filled with clothes, obviously it would take you longer to find a pair of socks than if it had just 3 items, the same thing applies to any computer device
if you install 32 apps and games to be exact like i do in total you should not have a slow device, but obviously it wont be as fast as when its like first use, mine is never slow and i been installing these since day one on 6.1
if you need anything bug-free, there is always wm 6.1, but as for now, wm6.5 is not yet completed, so expect bugs of some sort

I agree. But the response after apps installation is different. ROM like Norti 6.1 nX1i v1.04 [SuperLiteSpeed] shows excellent response after app installation while others show marked slowness. i think there is something different in memory management between different builds. The same happens with different 6.5 builds even if from the same Chef.

I give my vote to Touch X. The latest versions are indeed buggy, but then again so are most ROMs. But at least Mr Rusch is very quick in providing fixes. For me Touch X is a great balance between speed and eye candy, especially with 10.8 with the Leo icons and animated weather wallpaper

Ex Onkolog Rom users..What are you using?

Hi all, not sure if this is going to be one of those threads that gets deleted or moved, but hey its the 'rom' people I want opinions from
Ive been using Onkologs 6.5 superlite rom from way back in May, and all this time its been super fast and super stable through all my day to day use and work.
But things move on and so does the software and tweaks etc...esp looking thru some of the recent roms posted here.
Now I've just tried a couple of the roms posted here with all the upto date stuff and what I have thought would be fast and stable roms, but sadly they dont hold a candle to the speed and stability of Onkologs old rom.
Now I know his roms were quite popular, so was just wondering what other people are currently using as a replacement and any opinions really Has somebody created a rom as clean and fast but with the new software?
Cheers
Mick
Good question - same problem here.
I too enjoyed the clean, fast, and not pre-customized roms from Onkolog.
Since his retire I've been using first Miri's, then Nrg's for a while, atractive but full of clutter, then returned to Miri's Standard, since I didn't feel much of a difference with his own XtraLight, until I found Xanny's, Its stable, great looking and up-to-date.
Lately, I always try the last Miri Standard and the last Xanny without HTC Messaging, Miri's is cleaner, but Xanny's is nicier, if only he would cook a version without Manila I'll be happier.
Just my opinion..
Regards and Merry Christmass to all,
Carlos

Kwbr's Topix roms are always a save bet. They still sport the manila 2.1 version, so they are more stable then the 2.5 roms out there. Besides that Kwbr has been able to make a rom that is able to withstand quite some messing around without crashing .
He has a WM6.1 version which is really fast, but his WM6.5 version is also something you should try for a while!
They are not as clean or lite as onkolog's, but they are stable and fast! And to be honest, his additions/tweaks to the rom are in no way a downside of the rom

I totally agree.
I use kwbr's Topix WM6.1 for my normal business use, and have been doing that for more than 7 months ( I was also a former Onkolog user, still remember his april 19? version, still have the complete backup somewhere).
Topix is a superstable and fast rom, and it's fantastic to use.
I like WM6.1 better than his new WM6.5 versions.
Now and then I go on holiday or more easy work abroad, and that's the time to try other roms. I've tried many, and now I'm testing Xanny's Grid 1.6 280011 rom, and I like what I see, a beauty right out of the box.
But is it stable enough for everyday use ? Time will show.
topix
i vote topix super fast super stable and working until the next version of his rom...From Greece with Respect have nice Holidays and Merry Christmas...
Think your always going to get different responses on this. So far you have been told to try Miri's, Xannys and now topix. Best thing to do is go try them. This thread will continue to grow with people suggesting different rom chefs as each person has their own personal favourite.
As I said, go try and make your own conclusion of whats nearest to Onkolog and best for you, as in the end, only you can make this decision

ROMS

Hi guys i was wondering what would the most best stable fastest rom for the CDMA Diamond be. I have tried multiple. The two best i think were MightyRom and EnergyRom(currenty using). I just need ur opinion if you know some other nice ones. I rate roms by aesthetics and looks but obviously also speed and stability. Thanks
MightyRom - http://www.mightyrom.com make sure you goto diamond section
EnergyRom - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=74084
I like the Pegasus . . .
rom Touchflo 2.1 basic. I tried a few roms including Mightyrom 6 and Energy Rom, but seem to be sticking with Pegasus. It is has more recent versions of WM and Touchflo than Mighty Rom and and at least a more recent WM then Energy. It is stable and everything works. There is also a Pegasus titanium rom with an enhanced version of titanium that is also worth checking out. I checked it out, but Titanium, even nicely tweaked, is not as good as Touchflo, in my opinion at least.
IMHO, I like manila Rom. It is much more easy to use. So the Energy rom is my pref.

I like the fearless rom
HTC CDMA Diamond with MikROM -WM6.5&6.5.x Sence2.5-build 2012 Light&Standard version
IMHO, I like Sense 2.5 Roms for my HTC CDMA Diamond. I will Highly recommend MikROMs, it has the latest sys and the perfect rom it is always his next ROM (he never stop to cook new ROMs with every fix that appear in the WM6.5 and WM6.5.x sys. Also you can choose between Light or Standard Version. His ROMs are always as stable as what is best in that week, next week you can surprise with a hole new ROM with new fixes that doesn't exit before. So go and get a look at AmiKAM MikROMs LINK HERE.

Very good ROM, good battery life, aesthetically pleasing and fully functional AND more than enough free storage. Could use a little performance improvement, but hey this is the diamond its running on so no complaints
Thanks for the ref.

What would you say is the best rom?

Looking for a good reliable rom, just wondering what would you say is the best rom to have on my blackstone?
the clean rom ist the best and the fastest rom on xda.
the top version is better than the bottom version.
==> try clean rom top version 1
http://www.multiupload.com/IK64V7SC7D
BlackNew V
I really like BlackNew ROMs. I tried Energy ROMs, both on my Diamond and current Blackstone. They are pretty and full of apps, but slows down the machine a lot. And for speed and functionality is top priority
With BlackNew ROMs you get speed and some usefull apps
are the mods on holiday? they normally close these threads because they can be so contentious
Yep cant be long before the padlock cometh...We're not allowed to have a discussion about who likes which rom & why on here You've got to spend hours and hours, days and days trying them all yourself and going with the one you like, but remember not to post to tell anyone..

The mods will soon type something into this thread along with this line: "thread closed"
Maybe the Mods have realized that you can't close down these types of questions, hence another one will always pop up! These forums by nature produce these comparisons, so in effect they are the root cause. Can you condemn something that you are responsible for?
I love Energy Roms...I always come back to these. They just are "eye candy", and have all the features and personalization ideas that I love...but they are really designed for the HD2 which makes them "fat" on our HD units...Eg... they are 220+ MB for a ROM footprint compared to 168MB for a KWBR rom footprint. Hence the downside to me is they are generally more sluggish COMPARED to others...but they get faster as NRG keeps cooking.
KWBR's rom is quicker, but would love to see some eye candy enhancements.
Miniterror's roms are awesome...but would love to see CHT back in.
Have not tried many of the others as these guys keep producing too much quality to send me elsewhere..
I tried Kenia's BLack V, and that was awesome!! But just could not got back to the 6.1 OS...but he did a super job blending new age enhancements with the stability and speed of the older systems.
Thanks cooks
Regards
J
I don't see the problem with other people's opinion it's like feed back in one place instead of going through each thread on the ROM have one thread with feed back for all the ROM's in one place. Just an idea..
the reason why they get closed is that everybody has a different look of how a rom should lok like and what should be included in the rom
as it are opinions there cant be decided whats the best rom
also benchmarking wont be the answer as i have read that you can set some thing that the rom becomes verry slow but benchmark scores mega high that it should be the best rom
so for me the best rom is my own
i like the colors that are in and the programs and the fact its dutch
some others could like nrg rom more as they like those colors or the startmenu at the bottom builds
it all comes down to you what you want
maybe on a side note somebody can make a spreadsheet off the roms out here with the functions the roms have like startmenu at the bottom or on top
colors or default look and stuff like that
best ..
.. is your own ROM ..
My best: Blackdragon 3 Final
I tried them all, but with a windows phone speed and stability should be top priority. You can always customise your phone to your requirements. So I vote for blackdragon by Andy, as my best rom; mainly becasue of its incredible speed and stability.
I've tried most ROMs and became a bit of an NRG fan but I think there are too many changes for me to keep up with these days. It's great to try many ROMs and see what nice toys there are and also which areas of stability you need.
Been using G10's Evo v6.00 (24001) 30.06.10 for a couple of weeks and have to say I love it. Battery and connection (UK) as well as GPS for TomTom is great so I'm sticking with this for a bit.
I'm sure some great new feature or app will tempt me to try something else in the future though.
Just flash a couple a week until you get bored (by then you'll know exactly what you want) would be my best advice
Hi there,
I my opinion these are the best 3 options:
1: [ROM][WWE][10-Jul-10] Cloudy 0.4 (WM6.1)
It's one of the fastest roms on this forum but has all the features you want. It's no "clean"rom or anything like that. I see this rom as one of the "jewels" around here. I did not detect 1 bug or glitch or anything like that while using this rom for a week now.
2: Try KWBR's rom. I am a big fan of his work and his roms are usually the most stable and also very fast.
3: Go with a wm6.5 titanium rom and if you like buy spb mobile shell and customize it the way you want. I belive ram usages will go up to around 50% while using spb so you are probably not as fast as option 1 or 2.
Good hunting!
i would say again there is no such thing best rom...
read the sticky dude...
every chef has different goal on their rom release
exp
- want clean roms for fast performance ( i prefer clean rom ... )
- want stable rom less bug ( for stable i prefer stock rom )
- want best look for lastest rom release ( WM 6.5 com 5 built )
I think jude1993 just wanted people's opinion to what they liked or disliked about the ROM's. I am intrested aswell. What is the best ROM is the wrong title for this thread though, Maybe it should say your opinion of the ROM's. Just an idea
I've tried loads of different roms too....Gets very tedious Loading all your programs n contacts n messages etc..
This weekend I've tried most of NRG's latest offerings, but dear god they are slow. For me anyway I use my phone for work, not to look trendy, but to run fast, stable & smooth.
I've come from Onkologs stable of roms, so its been tricky to find a modern comparison...And I much prefer 6.5 to 6.1, but not the latest bottom button builds.
For me the fastest most stable clean rom I have come across and go back to each and every time is....
Energy.BLACKSTONE.21895.Titanium.Mar.17
Needs a bit of tweaking here n there but have not found anything to touch it for speed/fluidity/stability.
Just my opinion
Mick
this is very interesting
as i've been trying out WWE 6.1, 6.5 and 6.5sth(at least 30+ times of flashing)...i'd say i eventually chose WWE 6.1 Lite Rom. The reason why to my choice is more speed, more rom capacity, and ram usage. Well, actually most cookers here did very good job as theirs roms are stable, compatiable and fast in general, appreciated! Without considering eye candy interface, WWE 6.1 is the most fastest rom compare to WWE 6.5 or up...
All in all, there's always sth i think which hardly get solved is language patch problem. Ok say like i am chinese, hk...my rom is WWE 6.1, i'd spent some certain time trying out chinese patch which i needed to read and write chinese...some cabs installed that could read and write in chinese but then while some app running that easy to get device "hang", some apps couldn't display chinese characters properly...this is i what found so far an unresolved issue...would you agree...?
thanks
cheerz
over the past 3 days i have flashed about 5 roms Im currently trying miniterror ,but i find my self wanting to go back to the energy roms more for the eye candy
before it used to be duttys roms but now im neither here or there.
But always gravitating towards Energy the Maryone roms I have tried so many times and they always feel too slow and sluggish ...

[Q] Best ROM for business use???

Hey Guys, sorry if I should not be posting a new post here. I am new to windows devices... I am trying to help my brother out. He has a Touch Pro2 and has convinced his boss to allow me to hack it for the sake of speed and stability. I am looking at the mirage of ROM's here... just as many here as there are in the Android Dev side of things!!!
So my question is, what is going to be the best rom to start with? I am not looking for fancy features... I AM looking to speed up the device!
So my question is... what is the best ROM for the sake of Speed and Stability???
I need this device to run as fast as it can... without overheating... I am not so worried about battery life as he, and the rest of his guys, have and use car chargers most of the day.
Thanks for your help!
I would recommend Wild Child's WCX here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750620
Thats the fastest, stock like Sense 2.5 ROM.
He is the chef that helps me with my ROMs so I know he does a good job.
You can also try LBFAR here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=642956
It is super fast but uses old UI.
I wouldn't recommend mines as it is right now since I got 2 or 3 bugs on the Sense UI. Its super fast but I wouldn't recommend it for "business use" yet. Maybe next release.
Best ROM
I have not tried the ROMs listed above but I have had great success! (Borat voice) with the Energy series ROMs by NRGZ28. He seems to have cooked a ROM for everybody (sense 2.5, sense 2.1, max sense, cookie... etc.) If you are looking for speed and stability, I would suggest his sense 2.1 or titanium ROM. For a fast ROM that has the most functionality, I would suggest the sense 2.5 ROM with cookie. He also adds in a ton of customization and useful applications and every one of his ROMs uses XDA UC which allows you to flash a ROM and automatically restore almost all the settings, applications and customization you had prior to flashing a new ROM.

I am not looking for fancy features... I AM looking to speed up the device!
So my question is... what is the best ROM for the sake of Speed and Stability???

Jackos Oldschool ROM WM6.1 21048 + TF3D 2.1
The author claims it's built for free RAM, not speed, but it's damn fast. WM 6.1 and Manila 2.1 - nothing fancy indeed, but awesome in all respects. As for stability - that may very well be linked to the amount of free RAM
Oh btw. All the ROMs recommended this far are for GSM devices AFAIK. If you have a CDMA one, there's a different subforum for that.
Thanks for the input!!!
I am testing and compairing three of the roms listed... I'll tell you how it goes. I think I'll start with the Jackos Oldschool first, as it looks like it might hold the most promise having the most ram available.
Thanks again!
