Dears:
I am trying to retain the arabic keyboard layout from the original ROM because I waited long time to buy the arabic device. Then when we started the upgrading, it's all gone.
I found accidently the following cab file in the windows folder of the original WM6.1 ROM. So I figured if I install it on WM6.5 customs roms it will re-enable the arabic keyboard, or so I thought.
Anyone can offer help on how to have the arabic keyboard working and see whether this file is of real use or not? thanks.
Samer.
can you find "Bulgarian Phonetic" keyboard layout ?
10x
ok, so no one can answer, let me now rephrase the question maybe it becomes simpler.
If you have an official NBH for your TP2 device which comes defenetly with special files and settings to activate non-english characters (in my case arabic), how can I find these files and settings and extract them from the NBH file?

Thank you for your concern. This discussion is about remapping the main keys to a different language. What I am looking for are the suplemtnatry keys which are activated after pressing the mail key as it has a symbol of switch language.
So in other words, I have 2 languages on my keyboard, english and arabic, and there is a key that changes the complete keyboard to arabic or vice versa dynamically.
I am hoping to find a solution for that

Hello,
is there anyway to get an english rom with a german keyboard layout? I know the question may sound strange, but i would like to have this combination.
Nase
On the ftp site there is a keyboard sectiion, you will find a cab to change hardware keyboard.
For software keyboard you need resco or solved, do a search as we have a thread on keyboard.
Oh, that's nice. I will have look at the server.
Do I get you right, that i can change the hardware layout of the keyboard although the ROM has a english layout?
Nase
yes ... u can change keyboard layout to german (or something else) when u have installed aother rom language ........
just copy the cab file to your My DOcuments Folder and double click it ... after a soft reset the keyboard language is chaged ....
That is wunderful. I always thought that isn't possible to change the keyboard layout.
Now only my new MDAIII has to arrive and that i can start upgrading to another ROM
Nase
Still want the touch keyboard, in many languages..
Are there anyone that could extract that touch keyboards from Different ROMs and tell my how to install, or Make a .cab for it?

"1044" in "decimal" or "0414" in "HEX"
Swedish:
HKLM > hardware > devicemap > keybd > string "curlang" and
"1053" in "decimal" or "041d" in "HEX"
Estonian:
HKLM > hardware > devicemap > keybd > string "curlang" and
"1061" in "decimal" or "0425" in "HEX"

Are you talking about the on-screen software keyboard?
I so, have you tested the Diamond keyboard?
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410524
Please report results if you try!
(Waiting to try the cooked ROM, until I hear results on this one!)

I'll make a thread with CABs for more languajes later (bit busy for now...), but for now can someone test this CAB and report back?

[x] norwegian T9 works
[ ] norwegian layout
Where do I find the "norwegian files" ?
in your windows directory on the rapahel.
the files should be named
P20-Swedish-capmap_down_mask.png
P20-Swedish-capmap_up.png
P20-Swedish-map_down_mask.png
P20-Swedish-map_up.png
but change the swedish to norweigan. copy the files to /my documents
then rename the files to
P20-capmap_down_mask.png
P20-capmap_up.png
P20-map_down_mask.png
P20-map_up.png
then copy them over to your /windows folder with total commander or something.
remember to backup your original files
soft reset your raphael after you´re done
Did it work for you?
doesnt work at all...
It's most likely because you're missing the correct keyboard text file for norwegian layout.
I have added the ones I have and it solved my danish layout for full qwerty in potrait and landscape mode.
Just copy into windows folder.
Hope it'll solve your problem also
Hardkeyboard language codes
DOes any one now more codes for the hard keyboard. I know in the registry curlang 1044 works for the norwegian but what about swedish or even estonian I would like most. Maybe german would do also.
Hi, before I make my decisions to buy a X1, I need to make sure if the X1's hardware keyboard layout can be changed to Korean.
I read a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446449 where it says change of layout is possible by editing the keyboard reg.
I would really appreciate if someone can try and see if Korean keyboard layout works by editing the reg to 412.
Thanks in advance,
can anyone help? will changing the registry give Korean keyboard on x1? or should i flash it to korean rom?

Dont know if my commnet will help you at all.
I bought my X1 in Korea, so there are hangul Characters on the Keyboard, flashed with a german ROM, edited the Registry to english Keyboard and all is fine.
i've flashed my x1 with a dutch rom, but it has AZERTY-layout for the keyboard, my phone has QWERTY. can I somehow change this? Or has anyone got a dutch ROM with QWERTY layout?
not really worth a new thread, already tried some searching...?
Mod edit: not rom dev related, moved to general
yes i did, and haven't found any usefull things that work for me, so i started a new thread...
I would associate AZERTY with Frensh roms, not Dutch ones
which one did you flash? something like this should be described in the rom des
q: are we talking about hw keyboard or sip?
for hardware read here
best
it is a belgian phone, and here we have azerty and also qwerty, both with dutch software on it. But the belgian ROM that i can find is azerty, not the one with qwerty...
edit: it appears to be a ROM with dutch language and franch keyboard layout, the value in the registry was 1036

Does anyone know where I can find the following keyboard which is works with Arabic letters for diamond2 or WVGA screens
here is some picture for it... I hope that someone can help
Solution:
Download and install the attached CAB.
tested on the Touch Diamond 2 Stock ROM
That appears to be the default keyboard.
Yes, it seems it is, try changing the language to your keyboard, when you open the keyboard, you will see an small arrow on the right of it icon (taskbar) press it and try to change the language to your desired.

yea man its the original one but there is no Arabic language in the list your talking about ??
so what i have to do if know plz let me know
This file name could help you out
You need the following file
Enable_Ar_EzInput_xxx.cab
the x's are for the version numbers. Once you install it you will get Arabic in the List of Available language. Be warned, this cab keeps the English keyboard layout and adds the Arabic keyboard layout, the remaining languages are removed for some reason.
On my device I only have English and Arabic in the list of languages after using it (I am using WWE version of official and cooked roms). For non WWE roms I don't know what it does to the list of available languages.
Just attached the cab file. I don't know if there is any newer version of it.
