Sorry, football season is starting this weekend.
Must update my Hermes before the match starts.
Actually does anyone know of an app, which has the whole English Premier League schedule on it?
While I do think Arsenal, Man U. and Chelsea suck a fat one I do love watching the Premier League.
there is a program, I use it and it's fantastic. http://www.mbovin.com/teamstats/ppc.php
Oh, yea... INTER ALL THE WAY!!! Sucks they lost Recoba... but Zlatan is still the man. Not to mention Cruz and Stankovic. But they definitively need to get rid of Julio Cesar and get a decent goalie.
And as for the Premiership, I follow Liverpool religiously. I think Riise and Reina are very underrated players, Crouch sucks but I admire his adventurous and risk taking spirit, and Gerrard needs to get his s&*t together!
Cheers for the program...
It works great.
Crouch made it on to the England squad again, so he must be improving a bit.
Liverpool! Awwwwwwww!
Yea... FC LIVERPOOL! I know they aren't the greatest but they have spirit and very good players.
Hey, they went where Arsenal couldn't go last Champion's League
But maybe this year the Gunners will do something. I actually think they did just fine last season when Henry was out injured. An indication that while individualism in soccer is obviously appreciated, it is still a team sport. I don't think Arsenal will hurt much without him. They have great players and great team spirit. Just not as much as Liverpool but that's just my opinion.
I think being the fan of the strongest teams must be right as boring than being Michael Schumacher fan. Isn't it?
devis....that program...simply brilliant...thank you thank you thank you
Excellent program, can we have more apps for Windows Mobile that show Spurs at the bottom of the league!!!
Thanks... it took a lot of search to find it, and I actually kept in touch a little with the creator. Very nice guy, and helpful too.
Speaking of which... he will add leagues upon request. Should you have a league that isn't featured, feel fee to email him. If he can add it, he will.

Depends on the point of view.
If you're one of those people who like drama then you will pick a mid-range team and every game they play will be a drama.
If you are one of those people who complain a lot, then you will pick a crap team and then ***** left and right about how badly they're doing, just to have something to ***** about.
If you're a person like me... (hard to believe since I know i'm the greatest ) then you will pick the team that you like, and no matter how they do, you still support them.
So there... hope I've been able to shed some rays of bright light in this obscure and highly confusing choice of sports entertainment.
Some news I wanted to share with you guys: ARTICLE
Compare with all the sharing and community sense that kings XDA Developers.
This is a nice excerpt from the article:
Apple’s stance contrasts sharply with the Windows Mobile world, where developers are seen as the life blood of the ecosystem, 3rd party applications are expected to be installed from the start, and developers do not have to jump through any hoops to distribute their application.

Nice article, but I really don't get the fanboyism and anti this and and anti that. I have my diamond, and I am extremely happy about it. Reminds me of the old school AMD vs Intel/ATi vs nVidia wars scouring hardware forums not so long ago. It's just STUFF! Things. Devices. Not ideology; someone with an iPhone isn't less of a human being than others. No wonder there's war in this world.

well, to be completly honest, apple started it to make it into something different. they want it to be a movement.... you have to think apple to own a mac.
the I'm a mac guy underlined the whole thing even more.
so I'm totally comfortable with the bashing in case of apple, even though I own a macbook and run mac os on it.
This is a bit of an odd one but I'm hoping you guys can help.
I'm getting married on the 10th October and have written the bulk of my speech (a bit of history, the thank you's, etc), I just want to add a bit extra to make it stand out and memorable. I'm "a bit of" a geek, I did Electronic Engineering at Uni, I keep upto date with gadget/tech news with sites like Engadget and Gizmodo, I've played about a bit with ROMs and tweaks for my HD2 to the point of being called "obsessed" and so on. So I want to add a bit of a geeky theme into parts of my speech.
I've already put in that the wedding date is 10/10/10, when 101010 in binary is converted to decimal; it is the Ultimate Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything (42).
What else do you guys think I should include?
Thanks for the help in advance!
if i may say so...dont add anything geeky to the wedding... afterall your wedding..leave tech for that day...it just doesnt suit for wedding speaches...but thats just my opinion
Congrats on the marriage!
In regards to the tech references, it does depend, at least in my opinion, what the other guests think of tech etc. If your Significent other it into Tech as well, I do not see much of an issue with it, as it is your wedding afterall.
I do like the 101010 part. Thats clever.
Sorry that I haven't been much use, just thought I would offer my opinion on the tech part.
Congrats Man can't say i's be of much help though either ;D
Cheers guys, I can see why it is and isn't something that should be part of it. The reason why I thought of it was that my university friends will be there and I want to try to include them in my speech as well, whether as a joke or something else. Also, my dad and older brother have passed their geekyness onto me, which I suppose is why I took my course.
The opening line I've used is:
"I'm sure you'll all know it's been an emotional day, even the cake is in Tiers!"
I was looking for a couple more nerdy jokes to put the finishing touches to it.
As thats the case, then i would put a few more in, but not overload it. i.e don't do it in the tone of yoda throughout
(I actually lol'd about the cake...)
The cake is a lie....
Yeoldgreat1,
Firstly, congratulations on the marriage plans!
Secondly, my first son is due on 10/10/10 and I'd worked out the binary value too. Excellent work, great minds think alike!
Thirdly, congratulations on supporting the greatest team known to man. Arteta for England!!
Fourthly, I have no suggestions for your speech...

Congrats with your son, I hope he becomes the biggest blue ever
First of all, congrats!
Now to business...
There's bound to be people who don't understand your 101010 joke. So you can follow that up with "There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't."
Then, of course, there are the classics:
"All my base are belong to you."
"I knew it was love when I memorized your IP number to skip DNS overhead."
Seriously though, don't overdo the geek stuff. Mix in some material to get the tears flowing. Those are the lines that will be most memorable, not any of the geek jokes.
Here's a line I used as a closing to my wedding speech:
"Sometimes, you would laugh and giggle, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

Cheers, and he will. He'll be the Premiership's top scorer in 2029/30!
From what I have heard on some news sites on the internet, Steve jobs only has weeks to live. It is about his cancer which is eventualy killing him. I don't like him at all but if it is true, I do find it sad to hear. I would never wish this on anyone.

Call me old fashioned but I don't think this is a particularly useful or apropriate use of a thread.

Heck, the off-topic Mafia's Cook has no problem with this topic, so what's the big deal? It is semi-relevant, because love him or hate him, he started the REAL touchscreen trend. I'd imagine that Android would be using full physical keypads instead of touchscreen if it wasn't for iPhail, despite the general opinion of its usefulness.
Anyway, the rumour that Mr Jobs is dying is unconfirmable, as the original source is National Enquirer, which is a tabloid magazine. And the doctor who said he's dying based his opinion on pictures of Steve Jobs. Pictures.
Make of it what you will.
There's all kinds of wild speculation flying around out there right now. The list of people who actually know what's the case is likely very small.
What really gets me though is the sheer hatred and malicious ill-wishing I've seen going on out there about Mr. Jobs. I think there a lot of jealous, personally insecure folk out there, and that's actually pretty sad. I mean, by way of example, I hate Microsoft and strongly dislike the attitude and actions of Bill Gates, but you won't find me wishing death upon the man, or anything of the sort on his family or friends.
It's clear that we have a lot of dangerous, irrational people out there, and this makes me sad.
love seein the closet apple fans coming out on this thread like cockroaches for some smelly cheese .. get outta here
I have been keeping an eye on news sites and stuff now for 48hrs and I still not convinced. If Steve was really going to die, I think it would be all over the news by now.
Although, that being said, he is a very ill man and if he were to pass away soon I would not be surprised.
Personally i don't like apple and I don't like Steve jobs like I said at the beginning of this thread but he still is a human being and I hope it is not true.

Long live steve??

No offense, but the topic is about a mans life. I don't think anyone here(Or I hope anyone wouldn't) wish something like this on anyone else. That post comes off as very rude.
I saw that article featured on gizmodo.
It's probably a rumor unless you believe that 2 "prominent" cancer doctors saying that Steve Jobs has weeks left to live by, if you can believe it,
looking at photos of his ass from his jeans.
so I don't think Steve has weeks to live. The national enquirer is 99.99% bs.

good job reading i didnt even mention steve in my post
I'm just curious as to how good Android would have been without the iPhone as a big fat target to shoot for. Apple would be no where near as influential or profitable, imho, without Jobs at the helm. Granted, he may piss on his customers opinions, i.e. antennagate, yer holdin' it wrong!, but the fact remains that if Apple wasn't pushing out quality products the whole community would be lesser for it.
totally agree...
Apple first don'd the PDA term back in 1992 around the release of the Newton message pad.
On another note.
I can't understand why anyone could say that don't like someone if they have never met in person...
Just heard about this myself.
Thoughts, prayers, etc. go out to those affected.

Yep, Christchurch has been having earthquakes for a while now on a frequent basis but this is the worst one yet, my prayers go to all the people who suffered.
All my best for the ppl on that zone of the wrold
I'm in the thick of it - was in a lecture when it hit. Thankfully, we're back up and running with water & power now (Hell, the cable's back up), my suburb's one of the least damaged. Bit less of a wake-up call and more of a genuine disaster than September's - last rumour I heard was that a good number of the 65 confirmed casualties were from a preschool on the ground floor of a large building in the CBD. I really hope that's not true.
Well, between all the storm flooding in eastern Australia and now these earthquakes, I'll bet you folks from that region are about tired of being dumped on like this!
I live in Florida, and when we had those hurricanes come through in 2004 / 2005, a lot of people (myself included) were really at our wits' end.

Kinda hard to have a plan when you just got hit with an earthquake 6 months ago. I guess they will have to go the Tokyo way and redesign their entire infrastructure.

Wait... I don't understand that joke. At the expense of lacking laughs... can you explain it?
The gist of it goes like this...
There are more sheep in New Zealand then there are human beings. As a consequence of this, there are a lot of sheep jokes or sheep references relating to them (largely coming from their Australian neighbors) and, in general, the "implication" is that New Zealanders have improper relations with sheep.
So, if you're going to read the joke (and was a joke, I don't really believe this to be true) in the "context" it was intended, you would read it like this:
They have sheep in Japan [so the New Zealanders will have something to do at night] ?
Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I have an ex g/f who's from Australia who clued me in on this whole thing, and I've got a couple online friends from NZ who are really fantastic people.

Ok... that's disturbing. Reminds me of the python song, "We love sheep"... and of course, there is that rumour that effluent Japanese business men have... shall we say, a night out with various domesticated animals prior to enjoying them for a dinner.
