G1 bootloader loop - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In my stupidity I removed the battery during the first boot after installing the most recent CM. When I went to boot up again it wouldn't get past the boot screen(the initial one, not the CM one).
Using ADB I pushed on a few roms that I though would help, none did. I started up adb logcat and here's what I got(this loops continuously):

Constant Soft Bricking on all but JF Builds (Solved)

I just got my phone back from HTC (wifi wnt on it and a battery leak tons of fun). I've been able to root the phone and get the new radio, SPL, and latest JF build on the phone but for some reason I can't get any other build on there that works. All the Hero builds seem to be force closingg during the HTC setup wizard right before it starts to sync so I can't get into the build, and all non hero builds freeze at the G1 T-Mobile screen.
I've tried formatting and reformatting my phone but nothing seems to work. I was going to test out the swapper builds so I just created a swapper partition (tried Paragon, Gparted, and the built in G parted for my ext2/3 and swapper partitions). Then I tried removing the swap partition and I still can't get any builds other than the JF builds to work. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on or having similar issues?
Update:
Solved the problem by using ADB to push the /system/framework and /system/lib from the latest Cyanogen build. Immediately afterwards I updated to that same version of Cyan's and it finally went past the T-Mobile Screen and after taking a fairly long time it booted. Initially I got this weird error where the screen was clearly on (could turn volume up and down) but the screen was black. From there I did a wipe and ran the update one more time and it went through perfectly and now I'm running cyan's latest build.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and assistance. The builds were all hanging because it couldn't overwrite certain files in system and framework but its functioning now so thats all that matters. Thanks again!
Did you wipe before you update? You should have a fresh ext2/3 before flashing.
Yes I've tried wiping and doing non-wiped installs both land me in the same spot though. I've also formatted my ext 2 tried using ext 3 and removing and keeping the swap partition. I am using the stock sdcard too btw.
have you tried going through the htc setup wizard without turning on wifi because turning on wifi whhen the pop-up appears is said to sometimes fc the process?
I believe this is not a development forum question. I think you should read over everything carefully. If you did indeed root your phone right and have some basic idea of what you are doing then you should NOT have too many problems. If you are going from one build to another I would suggest doing a wipe. Other than that everything you said is kinda vague.

I had a similar problem but only with Hero builds and not letting it turn on Wifi stopped the forceclose/reboot.
That it won't let you use other google based builds is very peculiar.

I never turn on the wifi during the setup it doesn't usually ask me either. I'm in a constant 3G surrounding so I never use the wi-fi to be honest.

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum but I figured this is where I am most of the time and I see a lot of questions answered here. Anyway I used to be a flash junkie and I've used every build on the forums until my phone broke and I had to send it in for repairs. Unfortunately since I had my board replaced I've been running into problems. I have a PVT board for the record not a DVT which has been a problem in the past with the new SPL. I never had issues until I got my phone repaired but I didn't want to rule out the new partitoning of my card. Since my last post I've tried removing all the partitions and just going to single FAT32 partition and I still can't seem to get any builds (more specifically I've been trying latest Dudes, Cyanogen, JACHero, and JACHeroski builds.) As for being vague the problem to me is kind of vague. I'm tried so many different avenues trying to narrow the problem down to the card or the builds but it starting to lean toward the board being the problem here. I'll give any specifics just tell me what you wanna know.
try flashing the rom, then remove the sd before restarting, put it back in once the phone has completed setup wizard.
I believe that new board = new (to you) radio and SPL. ie, the old (stock) SPL, and possibly the old radio. boot it into the SPL and check ur versions.
personally if i got a new board i would start from square one. flash to RC29, root hack, radio/SPL update then ROM update. the works. if that doesnt fix your issue, well then i dunno.
EDIT: I believe this would explain why you're able to flash JF, but not others. JF doesn't require the custom SPL (pretty sure), whereas most others do.

stock sd card may be the problem. some of the ones that shipped with the phone were not of highest quality (mine sucked, and after a couple of weeks died completely)

Thats exactly what I did as soon as I got back that was the only way to get root on the phone that I knew of. I did it a few times but I still kept getting stuck on the Tmobile G1 screen when upgrading to any of the differnet mods.

Tried this and unfortunately it didn't work. as for my Phone type, SPL and Radio I have the following :
I'm using DREAM PVT 32b Eng S-OFf
Hboot-1.33.2005 (DREA100000)
Radio-2.22.19.26I
I grabbed the log from my phone for anyone that knows what this stuff means (btw this is right after updating to the newest cyanogen build 3.6.6.

Thank you everyone for your help so far.
It may be an odd suggestion, but try flashing JF RC-33. Ive had a somewhat similar problems with versions of TheDude's cupcake where it would one day just suddenly bootloop, and would keep doing it even if I wiped and flashed it 1000 times, but oddly enough, flashing RC-33 and then flashing another rom (Dude's in this case) would work. It may be worth a shot.
I tried flashing down but its still the same situation where I can only use JF builds now everything is giving me dalvik-vm errors in logcat as well as core.jar in the /system/framework errors. I'm trying to get there.

Ext2/Ext3

sup peeps
im just wondering whats the diffrence between Ext2 and Ext3 and also could 1 or the other cause a coma/hanging issue on a hero rom if you have or dont have the right "Ext" so let me kno thx people
if you have cyanogen's recovery image go into the recovery console and type
Code:
upgrade_fs
reboot
ext3 has journaling which is a good thing. just do it.
wow....you didnt answer my question and i alrdy have ext3 answering my question just might help me with my coma problem so ya

i answered half of it. the coma issue, afaik, is related to a kernal panic. the last time i knew of the coma issue being present was in the use of unionfs and AUFS for apps2sd, but that has since been replaced by bind mounts and symlinks.
afaik? and how can i look at my log to see if the kernal is panicing whats the command for adb so i can see what the hell is going on so i can post it or something

wow....you're giving the guy stick for not answering your *whole* question? This isn't a f*cking call centre...
Anyway, back to your question: ext3 is pretty much the preffered filesystem for all ROMs, it's more efficient than ext2 because as david said, it uses journalling and it's probably more stable than ext4 because it's been out longer. So changing your filesystem won't help with kp's.
i see so i need a dev to look at this log is what your saying and no im not getting at him he was being a **** by bypassing my question like a **** so he deserves the **** comments he got from me(pause) but neway thx for answering my question

Maybe he didn't know the answer?! Why do people have to be so damn hostile? He's volenteerting his free time, answeres one of your questions and get's called a ****, nice!
"David1171 - i answered half of it." sounded kinda dickish to me but if u aint mean it that way no harm done misunderstanding is all i guess

always post your code with the code tags.
right now your the one that looks dickish. Someone tried to help you out, someone who is surrounded by noobs who ask stupid questions, yet he still takes time to try and help you out. Your question looked like one of them, as there are a lot of threads with that information around here. If you don't like the information given, don't say anything negative and ask for additional clarification.
As for your logcat, it seems to have the same crash over and over. Reflash your rom. you probably didnt wipe, and it looks like you have corrupted files

look at how many of my posts have helped people and how much time i have helped people root their phones, partition, other things they didn't understand and now do because i took the time to help them understand, i have been trying all night to help Z҉A҉L҉G҉O̚̕̚ to get his theme to fit within the confines of the hard spl so people that are afraid to flash the 1.33.2005 spl can use it with all the extras as well.
i misread your initial question and answer what i knew how to answer. i guess partial answer have never helped anyone reach their goal. maybe in the future we should all decide never to answer a question unless we know every single part of the answer with a clear and thought out thesis on how we reached our answer.
you should post your logcat in the thread for the rom you are using, there is a much bigger chance that the dev will see it in there then they will here where you are asking people who don't have all of the answers.
also thank you adriank.
WOW
Wrecking Crew needs to spend some time here obviously. HOLY SH*T! Adrian cursed TWICE in this thread!!!!!!!!!!! wow RanT, you must have hit one of his buttons real good and btw I would have posted the same thing david did as I don't know the answer to your second question either.
<3 david
sorry Adrian, I'm no pedo
i love how people feel they can attack me but w/e and i did post the "logcat" in the roms thread so no worries there and ill press buttons all i want if i feel im being smart mouthed just cause i asked as you said a "noob question" it cant be that noob if even you dont have the answer to the question so it will be returned back to u im not a bad dude but you can take w/e i say how ever you want go to the corner and cry if u want makes no diffrence to me and yea thx for attempting to help and u can curse all u want dude lol i get to laugh u look like a idiot and if u dont kno answers to questions just say you dont kno instead of making it seem like u dont see it or dont wanna answer it or w/e it may be
and yes i did wipe and redo just to make sure something stupid wasnt causeing this so i partitioned 4 gig transcend class 6 micro sdhc card
wiped my phone
redid my partitions
fat32 0 3400 3.4gigs

linux-swap 3900 3964 64megs

cyan 4.1.999 homescreen problem

I'm running cyan 4.1.999 and sometimes my homescreen loses all the shortcuts and widgets. Everything still works, I can pull down the notification, pull up the launcher, go into settings, launch apps and what not but just no home screen.

This is the logcat, I don't know if this is relevant but I figured I'd include it if anybody can understand it.
I have the same problem. I go into Advanced Task Manager and kill the 'Home' process and everything comes back. It's annoying when it happens...so hopefully it'll be fixed soon!
ETA: I use the same weather widget you do...I wonder if that's a contributing factor.

Same, I haven't gotten a FC yet. Even after reboot.
But I don't think this is the full thing, they said they were going to add a section just for Live Wallpapers. I don't see it.

Cm 6.1 stable it keeps saying install unsuccessful.

Try pushing it, make sure to do a nano just in case.
Wouldn't install so I pushed from adb. Even after wiping cache and data it still fc's when I go to "my apps". I'll wait for something official.

Installed it on CM6 6.1 stable via clockwork and its not running smoothly getting FC's on market and gmail now, Restoring backup.
No install with clockwork

Running cm 6.1. What I did was rename the download vending.apk, downloaded the gapps and deleted the vending.apk in there and replaced it, then i flashed gapps in recovery and everything worked perfect.
Sent from the corner.
No matter what I do, the new market won't work for me. Once it did for a while...and then started the fc's again. You name it I've tried it. Ran permissions repair as well. Logcat:
