I'm having trouble getting Pandora back since upgrading to Donut. The app won't show up in the market. Searching for the app turns up nothing, and when I downloaded the .apk off the web, it said it could not install. Is Pandora not Donut compatible or is this a problem unique to me?
what rom are you using?
It works for me, try searching "pubandora"
wait till they update..pandora not donut compatible yet

Pandora is a protected app. The ADP ROMs can't install protected apps from the market.

Umm...I switched to this ROM from JesusFreke 1.51 ADP, and I had Pandora on that...

The JesusFreke 1.51 ADP ROM was modded to include protected app downloads. Using the official HTC ADP1 ROM won't allow you to download protected apps. I'm assuming by now you have switched to one of the other 1.6 ROMS available though.

I have been using an app call Market-Enabler that allows unlocked G1s and Canadians to purchase paid android apps on their phone.
I'm sure some of you know or heard of this app. Just wondering what you guys think of it? Won't work on cupcake 1.5, but I have it working on Hero 1.5.

Thats a pretty dumb statement. It'll work on ANY 1.5 *with root via 'su' command*. BTW "cupcake" was the development name for the version 1.5 branch, so hero 1.5 *is* cupcake, as is every other 1.5.
wonders if the once again those without root will be able to get paid apps again
as ME uses setprop it needs to be run as root, if it's incorporated into a rom the api could be used but ME then needs to be compiled with the same certificate as the other system apps to get into the radio group... But installing another image also implies that the phone has to be rooted.
[Update 19/12/09]

Hi guys,
Atrackdog just gave me a new result for facebook apk, named 1.1.1 .. obviously it is not available on the market yet, but I remember the same thing happened with the 1.1.0 version "coming" from the droid...
Does anybody know where's this version coming from?
Maybe from the 2.0.1 update Verizon customers received.
Yes...that could be it...
I just wonder why in the world they don't release these updates in the market..they know they are working even on 1.5 or 1.6 devices...

They might know but that doesn't mean it has been officially tested and supported on 1.5/1.6. Those are two VERY different things.

Sounds like a sentence!
You're the man!
You can't use the normal one because it's ODEX'd.
I ran it through the deodex script -> Here is the new De-Odexed Facebook.apk (v1.1.1) View attachment Facebook.zip
RENAME IT FROM Facebook.zip to Facebook.apk (DON'T EXTRACT IT)
Now when you try to install it'll say it's not for this version of the phone. You're probably going to need to change your build.prop file to show SHOLES just like before the new Google Maps came out...

will that script work with any odex'd apk? For instance, I love the world clock from hero, but cannot stand the lag from the rom. would that work?
I used the terminal to install the app.
install /sdcard/backups/facebook.apk /system/sd/com.facebook.katana.apk
it didn't give me any errors, that should mean it work... right?
Well, I don't notice a difference, is there supposed to be one?

It works on some things... Like the MyFaves didn't work. It seemed to work on the facebook apk. I pushed it also into the /system/app but it won't show in the apps dropdown. I then tried to place on the sdcard and install with App Manager but it says "not for this phone" or something like that. Might have to change the build.prop to show the SHOLES keys instead. But it looks like the APK itself is ok.

this one is the new facebook apk 1.1.1 ..pulled from the new droid update verzion just sent out .. however it wont install ..... ( at the moment )
Anybody being able to install this on a magic/dream then..?
I keep getting the same error "cannot install app on this phone" i guess for now I will stick with version 1.1.0....hopefully someone will find a fix for 1.1.1
The g1 has incorrect testkeys for 2.0 apps. You will have to edit the build.trout.prop, as was needed to get navigation to work. I do not know what other problems will come from doing this though. For me, even with replacing to old build.trout.prop, and erasing all traces of maps, I could not download the new version from the market without a wipe.
so i guess for now there is now "easy" install on a Mytouch/Magic for version 1.1.1 as it was for version 1.1.0.........
Is it even worth installing? Other than the extra ".1", does this version have anything we might want over 1.1.0?
Just like beePlayer is there any app that allows you to watch demand.five on android phone (G1)
demand.five is available on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/demandfive
however cannot watch any program on G1...
any suggestion what I have to do to watch demand.five on G1?
Looks like it's all flash based on youtube... And you say you can't use the youtube app to view it? Upgrade to the newest version on the newest rom, if that doesn't work, try a hero rom and see if it works in the Flash9 enabled browser.

gmap multitouch is on the market for 2.1 device
I downloaded maps 3.4 from market but that didn't have multitouch zoom. Isn't this the version from the nexus update?

I am using a custom 2.1 ROM on Hero, and downloaded the maps 3.4 from market, but still do not have MT.
Is it because it recognizes the device as Hero? or am I missing something else in my custom rom that I need to install?

mt worked for me, but no navigation.
I get: "Package file was not signed correctly." when I try to install.
Ho hum
It's officially out today!
HOWEVER... it's still listed as not available for my Xoom LTE. Not sure if they forgot to check the box for this model. If someone can get the new tablet friendly APK out there, I'd be obliged. I've already submitted a message to Hulu support.
i was able to install it on my xoom.

i have no clue how to do that.
It's good to know how to do it, programs like ASTRO File Manager or App Backup & Restore can backup the apps installed on your phone or tablet as APK files, which can be installed on any device. It doesn't back up app data (You need root and Titanium Backup for that), but it's great if you want to save old versions of apps in case someone releases a bad update, or if you want to copy them to a device that doesn't have the Android Market or something like that.
Then you stick 'em on some sort of site that lets people download 'em.
Installed fine, however getting DRM not supported error...
I'm running EOS ICS on my CDMA Verizon Xoom, and no dice. I installed it on my Transformer, no problem. Used Astro to backup the apk; however, it says its private and won't allow me to. I've tried to install from the device and the web based play store. No go.
I don't think it's compatible with ICS yet, because my Galaxy Nexus is also non-supported; however, I have ICS on my Nexus S and it installed just fine, so...idk
Runs on my xoom just fine.

You're not getting a "DRM Error"? Mine updated from the hacked version posted earlier once I removed that, but I'm getting "DRM Error 93“.

Im using market update version -
As of last night, my Xoom LTE could install the app off the Play Store. I could also start a video, but the connection wasn't great it seemed, and I got a network error after like fifteen seconds.
It seems like the only people who have gotten the official app to work on their Xoom, are people with the 4G LTE Xoom. Although, it does not say it will only work on 4G LTE in the Google Play app store, there seems to be a pattern. I wonder if a build.prop edit could fix the issue?

Huh. One of your builds, or an official build?
I've wiped data (thinking that the previous hacked version left something around), but still getting the DRM Error 93.
