Hero Transitions on Official Donut 1.6 - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody knows which files I have to put in the Official HTC 1.6 Donut
to have the nice transitions that come with Hero?
Cyanogen Mod use it, but I like to put this kind of transitions in a normal rooted donut.
Any Help?

you need to copy task_close_enter, task_close_exit, task_open_enter, and task_open_exit xmls in framework-res/res/anim from a hero rom to the donut rom, if you open the framework-res with 7z, you can just drop the files where they're supposed to go to replace them and then push it to your phone (or add it to your update.zip), no need to resign (actually, signing with testkeys breaks it, so dont!)
I'm attaching the necessary files.

Wow thanks for your suggestions,
I have extracted the framework-res.apk from the Enomther v1.9.2- Expansion-Pack that contains the hero style animation and pushed in the /system/framework
and works very well... zoom hero style...very nice.
Thanks.
Now I can try with the blur style

Pull it out of the rom that has it... I can pull it out for you, just don't know what image are you talking about (and don't expect it to be quick neither... I'm not on here all the time)

Yeah. Just take the old com.htc.resources.apk from the previous build (should be located under /system/framework/) where you did like the lockscreen, then you can either
A. Cook it into the build by replacing it in the /system/framework/ folder
B. Copy and paste it into the same folder and replacing the com.htc.resources.apk in the herolockscreen zip here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...2&d=1248260883 and then running the bat as usual. It will just replace the modified lockscreen with the lockscreen of your choice.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Removing Stericson Lockscreen from a Theme

Does anyone know how to remove the stericson lockscreen from the framework so that i have the original lockscreen back. i am running on cyan 4.0.4 with compatible theme- currently melange 0963. i wanted to use xinvert or smorgwhite 4.0.4 but both have stericson's lockscreen. does anyone know how and what to change in the framework or whatever else inside the zip folder. i know how to resign the zip, just need the guidelines on what to insert and remove. i have previous versions of the smorgwhite theme and messed around with the zz files in the new version (i.e. i deleted them got boot loops, replaced them with two files from the 4.0.1 theme of smorgwhite and got boot loops, replaced the framework-res.apk from smorgwhite401 to 404 and got stuck at tmobile g1 and i even replaced the whole framework folder from smorgwhite401 to 404 and again stuck at tmobile g1 screen). id really appreciate the help. thanks
replace services.jar with the one from the theme template cyanogen provides
replace the settings.apk with the one from that same template
replace the framework-res.apk with the one from the template
remove framework.jar from the theme
replace android.policy.jar with the one from the template
with that done run this through ultra spikey's theme porter (the un-modified theme as themeold.zip and the one you pulled all of the files from as themenew.zip) then go into the framework-res.apk/res/drawable folder and remove all of the images that start "zz" they are at the bottom of the folder so they are easy to find.
Now you have the unsigned theme without the lockscreen.
Sign the theme and you are set to flash it.
i haven't tested this, but would imagine it works.

thanks for the quick response man. i'll give this a go
edit: only problem is though, where do i get the theme template since cyanogen removed all of his files after the google issue? so since i don't have the theme template, i just took the files directly from the signed 4.0.4 cyan rom. gonna test it out now

Download any theme with a black notification bar made for Enoms TheOfficial ROM. Extract this, and in framework, extract android.policy.jar, framework-res.apk, and services.jar. Create three folders on your desktop, android.policy, framework-res, and services. In framework-res, create a folder called res, and in res, create a folder called layout.
From the theme, take the file framework/android.policy/classes.dex and place it in your folder android.policy.
From the theme, take the file framework/framework-res/layout/status_bar.xml and place it in your folder framework-res/res/layout.
From the theme, take the file framework/services/classes.dex and place it in your folder services.
Download my attached res.zip, and extract. There will be two folders, drawable and drawable-land. Move these folders to your folder framework/res (Note, do not place in layout, you should now have 3 folders in framework/res).
Open a blank txt file and copy the following:
Code:
Enomther's TheOfficial ASOP 1.6
2.4.2
framework-res.apk
/system/framework/
services.jar
/system/framework/
android.policy.jar
/system/framework/
Save this as Black_Bar_Enom.thm. Create a zip from the folders android.policy, framework-res, services, and the file Black_Bar_Enom.thm. Name this zip Black_Bar_Enom.zip (NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE SAME NAME FOR THE THM FILE AND THE ZIP, THEN METAMORPH WILL NOT WORK)
Download metamorph and the eclair theme by djengizz. Place the eclair theme and Black_Bar_Enom.zip in the folder /sdcard/AndroidThemes. From here, metamorph will do the rest, just be sure to apply the eclair theme before you apply the Black_Bar_Enom.zip morph.
I forgot to add, you now have your first metamorph to post. I am sure many users of Enoms ROM would appreciate it.
Thanks i will try this
ok tried this exactly as you said and it gets stuck in bootloop. help

That is weird, there must be something in enoms source that I do not understand. Boot to recovery and flash your current ROM to do away with the bootloop.
Enom is very good about responding. You should either ask him what is wrong with my instructions, or ask him to port my black bar mod.
cool thanks tho

[Theme][Metamorph] The Oficcial Drone by ravenjr, Droid's Nemesis

This is the introducion of Drone© developed by myself Brian, or [email protected] I am developing a new ui for Android and also will be releasing the Official Drone introduction video soon. Drone© also is not specific to any OS as of yet. So i hereby introduce to the Android community "Drone"!
This is just a theme for Dream users, im not doing a whole lot of advanced theming because im not revealing the ui or other Drone© specific official related material.
NOTICE NOTICE NOTICE
RavensScript has a lot more options now and also i have fixed the problem with the turbo opt script but dont use as of now because i have to do more scripting, all the other options work just fine. I also have the official Droid fonts that change the whole system fonts to the Droid, pretty neat!
Instructions-------> Extract, place tmp folder on the root of sdcard or if you already have directory /sdcard/tmp created then just copy all the contents over
Actions--------> In your terminal app type: su (enter), sh /sdcard/tmp/ravensScript.sh
Will be posting the Morph this wknd, thanks and HAPPY NEW YEARS

just unzip the file using your computer and extract files to a folder on your sd card, use the existing theme button in metamorph and select the .thm file.
works for me my motorola a855 android is running the ICE theme. no custom rom, just root access.
cheers!
Very nice theme. When will you be putting it back up? I am running Manup's Eclair v1.5, will this work for that ROM when you put it back up?

Newbie - question on Metamorph themes

I have a Droid, 2.0.1 (Sholes ROM) and it is rooted. I have Metamorph installed, even loaded a couple of themes - worked great!
Then I found this place and this very long list of themes. Even found the file for metamorph themes. Problem is this:
I have no idea of what the rev/version is referencing:
CM
cyanogen
AOS1.6
etc, etc.
Can someone tell me what I am looking for???
I figure that AOS is the Android Operating System but I am at 2.0.1, not 1.6. Are there just no MM themes for 2.0.1 or is there another thing I should be looking for???
Marsha
CM
cyanogen
AOS1.6
etc, etc.
This is telling you that the theme works on Cyanogen Mods (for G1/Mytouch3g)... version 1.6 (Donut)
Things made for CM and most other arent going to really work for the Droid. We are running Android 1.5/1.6 and even with using eclair, our stuff is ported so we maintain only having a drawable folder, even if there is a themed eclair ROM, if the theme is made for the G1/My Touch, only the drawable-mdpi and drawable folders are themed, we wouldnt edit things in the drawable-hdpi folder since out phones don't use it. You on the other hand need the edits in the hdpi folder since the Droid is a higher res phone. MetaMorph would be a good opportunity for you to learn the basics of themes and use that to put them together for yourself. Of course, maybe a backup of your phone before applying.
