First you have to download the tools you need to build your own kitchen

ok here it is the art of cooking
first put the extracted files of ervius kitchen on C:
-C:/Kitchenname/ervius files
and extract the ship rom, you can use 7zip,winrar, then put the nbh file on the same folder where you put the extracted file on ervius
-C:/Kitchenname/.nbh

there willl be some pop up message, just click ok.

click on Dump then choose the nbh file(latest ship rom of jade)
when it is finished close the program
here is the folder structure finished dump of shipped rom
then download the file megapackeges ported for jade
then put the extracted file in
-C:/Kitchenname/EXT/Jade/23060/mega_External_Packages
here it is
just follow the folder structure
note: put the inititflashfiles.dat here:
OEM\Jade\0409\OEM_Lang_0409\initflashfiles.dat
then download the XIP and SYS Files
then put it in the
-C:/Kitchenname/ROM/Jade/23060/OEMXipKernel
then the other one at
-C:/Kitchenname/ROM/Shared/23060/MSXIPKernel
Next is the SYS files
the SYS files is consist of
-DPI_96
-DPI_96_resh_240_resv_320
-SHARED
-put the file in the archive that you download in
-C:/Kitchenname/23060/DPI_96
-C:/Kitchenname/23060/DPI_96_resh_240_resv_320
-C:/Kitchenname/23060/SHARED
you dont have to edit anything or put the file in their appropriate folder coz i already put it
you just have to copy paste the file
Now Start Cooking with XIP and SYS 23060

just one question do i have to put all in Cdrive
as i have partitioned my comp to C & D and i use C only for OS
so can i do all the saving and cooking in the D drive of my comp as i see that u have mentioned to put all in the C drive on ur tut

i never try to put the kitchen to other drive, much better if you put it on drive C: and make a back up of your kitchen on your drive D:
and another thing is to avoid using long name of your kitchen to avoid path length errors.

Okay i have do all what you have written but when i make a nbh file over than i flash to my Phone there comes Preparing your device bla bla bla but then comes nothing the Pone Hang Up!!!

what is the size of the nbh file you make? and do you remove anything in the packages? or add something?

No i didnt have add or remove a Package or other!!! Filesize of NBH:

Is it possible to extract crossbow icons from wizard rom and share icons here so that i can put them into magician?

Max, the Crossbow roms are widely available. Why not dump and extract the icons yourself? You don't need a working device (ie Wizard or other Crossbow device). I suggest using the Universal's rom anyway, nicer icons, higher resolution.

thx vijay for ur efforts..but the pack doesnt have icons of applications like activesync and msn messenger ..internet explorer etc.
plus how to put .ico files on magician?
i dont want to use any software .. i want to replace original ones with that of crossbow's...is it possible?
max414: you're going to have to learn how to do this stuff yourself... you will need to dump the rom, dump the icons for each required dll and exe, and then use an icon editor or resource editor to replace your existing icons with the new ones.
There's a lot of pain in the ass steps there... nothing hard, just time consuming. I don't have time to bash it all out

For your job, you need a resource editor. Look up Resource Hacker on google.
The rom - where you get it is up to you.
The rom can be dumped in the usual way, with mamaich's romtools:
Prepare_imgfs the rom
This will dump the files. From the files, dump the icons.

Guys, you're going to have some minor difficulties I think.
Check out the roms that have been made with custom icons, but generally AFAIK you will have to replace the original resources within the existing dll/exe files using Resource Hacker (btw, Visual Studio 2005 is a better resource editor). The complication is that you may have to resign the files, and then get them on to your device - which means either hoping you can overwrite the existing rom files, or cook a new rom.

Ok Thanks I know where I stand against all the developers here,I think this rom dumping is too much for a noob like me,I would rather give up the idea of having crossbow icons on my magician.

OK I am downloading pv2 rom for universal now,i have already got resource hacker,and mamaich WM5 ROM editing tool, now what i have to do?

I guarantee that it is almost the same as my R4, so i believe it is good - you decide. I am with it right now and my device work just fine.If ot has hidden problem my device will burn first and i will tell you (i seriously doubt that)
It is that simple because of Bepes hard work for creating this type of kitchen for hermes, my work was porting it to blueangel
BuildOS options are based on xml files which simplyfies the whole operation
Also i forgot to mention that the old OEM packages for the old kitchen will work with this one too

After download I get unexpected end of archive from WinRAR. I downloaded it twice. Am I doing something wrong?

when i try to open the archive it give me an error "unexpected end of archive " , if i ignore this and extract i have again the error and there is no Guide.pdf
just a moment to download it and i will see if there is a problem

the second is connected: is this rom in german?
my xda terra has already CE OS 5.2.1236 but the built 17741.0.2.1 ... is an update recommended?
Does the romupdate imply a radioupdate? i have already the higher version 02.85.90 ...

17944.0.3.1 - the latest build from Microsoft dumped from Trinity
This ROMupdate contain only OS, not IPL,SPL,Radio,ExtROM,Splash.
This rom - ENGLISH.

Ouch.
I'm sorry this is really 1236-core.
This is because i dont have Herald and haven`t possibility to check workability of this ROM.
Can this be flashed using Asergs methods? I only ask because most roms I have are OS.nb but this file ends in .nba

I have renamed it to OS.nb, and used the same tool as PDAVIET has, but after 20 minutes it is still at CopyFileToTFFS(OS.nb:0 , 0, 04400000), is there an solution for this? My PDA is still on now, so i proberly can rollback to a other version, but i want this clean version of windows mobile, not all the crap in other ROMS.

It worked, after 50 minutes it still didn't finished, so i decided to plug of the usb cable and do a hard reset (my pda was frozen), after that i got the bootscreen of k0ster's ROM! It works perfectly, only some minor things i don't understand:
I cannot use the ReTOUCH dialer again, if i install it and restart my pda, i don't get the TOUCH dialer, but only empty images. On the PDA VIET ROM it worked. Anybody idea why this is hapening?
To k0ster: Can you make some changes in this ROM or second ROM? I would like to have standard in the rom that .cab don't get deleted (This is a registery setting). And the Dialer skin etc is working.

Maybe the flashingprocess wasn't finished and you now run your PDA from a "half-baked" flashmemory ...
I'd recover it by applying a WM5 RUU and try to reflash again.

Just a word of caution, anyone upgrading to this rom or any cooked WM6 rom from another wm6 rom should downgrade to a WM5 otherwise you will experience a wide range of problems.

ROM is okay?
It seems like the rom is okay, but my phone is CID locked so i cannot roll back to Windows Mobile 5 en then upgrade to Windows Mobile 6. This should be working fine (ive upgraded before). Does anyone know a program to customize the rom?
I have the T-mobile wing. Do I need to CID unlock it first before upgrading to this rom.
and MOST importanty, how big is the page pool size?

CID unlock is not required if you upgrade using ASerg's method for flashing. Check out the txt file in the attached zip archive, and if you follow EVERY step(including flashing from Guest mode) it should flash without porblems.
AFAIK the pagepool on this ROM was C0 (which is 12MB) but I could be mistaken. Regardless of the PP size it is not that difficult to alter and would be glad to assist you if you are having troubles with Paul's guide at Modaco.

Copy the missing DLLs in Redist folder from your earlier builds.
I didn't port the new xip.. can you post me your rom folder or tell me how to extract a xip from your 00_OS.nb.payload (already extracted the nbh)

use erviuskitchen for xip porting.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420
unzip the erviuskitchen to c:\erviuskitchen
copy os.nb.payload c:\erviuskitchen\ROM folder (create ROM folder)
run erviuskitchen
select XIP porting
select extract XIP from payload.
will post my SYS & ROM folder soon.. (facing some internet connection issue)
after extracting how can i make a payload file of it again?

ultimo is the full one with the stock application
lean cut is those with most of the stock program removed.
can get the CABs to install again

2==> i downloaded the files from master EFSANE's links..
SYS/OEM 21500 0409 MUI FILES http://www.ctrlpda.com/showthread.php?tid=3653
3==> dowloaded MASTER ATHERS kitchen tool..
4==> convert NBF to dump..
5==> deleted all the MUI files...
6==> replaced EFSANE's files.
7==>edited USER.HV and DEFAULT.HV
8==>cant find f**king BOOT.RGU anywhere...
9==>anyway reasambled the rom without editing boot.rgu..
10==>got NBF again ..
11==>flashed my device...
12==>IT STUCK ON BOOT SCREEN...
13===>again using build 21189 ....

make_boot_hv (make_boot_hv.bat)

New boot.hv was.Change shortcut name -> default.hv/user.hv
Step 8
New default.hv/user.hv copy to dump folder and change.
Step 9
Run Hima_Build (Hima_Build.bat) new nk.nbf files.
