Diamond gets stuck on playing sounds - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi , I have this weird problem . My diamond gets stuck on playing sounds ( eg - windows sounds for network detected , new sms , alarm ) . I realized this happens when the default program is Windows Media Player ( WMP ) , and the moment I reassign the extension to another ( in this case Pocket music player PMP ) , the problem is solved .
But the problem is PMP takes a tad longer to play , so not the best option for ring tones and sms tones .
1) Has anyone else had similar issues ?
2) Does anyone know how to solve this ? I was thinking of either reinstalling WMP
3) Would installing HTC audio manager solve this
Cheers

Help! corrupted mp3 in wmp (wm6.1)

Hey there,
I always listen to music on my HTC TD (xda version O2).
But after some time it just corupts my mp3's and i can't listen to them anymore.
I always have to newly sync them onto my device.
furthermore, sometimes even directly after a complete new sync some files are instantly corrupted (yes, they work on my pc and after 2 or 3 syncs they work )
as i said:
device: xda diamond (htc td)
os: wm 6.1 <- i had the problem with o2 version and now, with the 2.03 htc version also
is that a known problem? i couldn't find anything with the help of the seach function.
can you help me please? i need my dayli portion of music
edit:
just discovered 2 more things:
1. it doesn't help just copying, instead of syncing the mp3's
2. the corruption especially occurs, when i save some mp3's in a playlist

I am having the same problem when I get my phone yesterday. It happened after I try to play some music in ES Player ( i think maybe some 3rd party music player may cause the problem ).
Solution for me:
- Install Ringtone Maker ( or other 3rd party apps that can set the ringtone)
- Set the ringtone from there
- The ringtone that I set using the 3rd party apps doesn't take effect, but it fix the "sound set has stopped unexpectedly" and I can now set my ringtone & alarm using the system default
Hope this works for you
Found this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245829&highlight=+sound+set+:
I worked with HTC Support last night to further troubleshoot this issue. Here is what I learned:
1) The correct locations for storing custom ringtones and notifications are:
/sdcard/Ringtones
/sdcard/Notifications
2) You must copy the files to this location from your computer via USB. The problem I was encountering was caused by the fact that I was using ES File Explorer to download my MP3 and OGG files from a network share to my phone. While all other applications were able to see and play these files without any trouble, the built-in ringtone/notification chooser will not see files copied onto the device in that way.
And it works

[Q] delete music control from lock screen

ciao
i have viper one 3.2, on htc one.
im used to listen music while running, and have not idea why but sometimes musci jump from one song to another while i have it inside the pocket.
i used stock musci htc and musci google play app, both have same problem ( it is random )
i wanted to try to delete the music control from lock screen ( to check if there is not a real lock and the problem is just the phone inside the pocket ).
i found on htc option and on venom option both avoid music control from lock, but while listening music they are still there, any suggestion?
many thks
