Do we have a solution for AT&T keyboard? The CAB that I have (from EnergyROM's thread) fix FN and Shift keys, but number are still on the top row, while on the keyboard they should in in the middle.. Plus there are issues with special chars like "\" and "-", "=", etc, they are all in wrong places.
I'm running latest EnergyROM with 2.1 Manila.
Anybody able to say if they have a FULLY corrected keyboard layout on Tilt2? All the symbols, numbers, etc..

In this thread there is a cab that fixes everything but the OK button. I also have the registry settings posted earlier in the thread as well.

I use Resco Keyboard Pro (Screen Keyboard, I don't know if it works on the hardware keyboard as I have an Alpine, you can set a secondary the keyboard language, and just press a key on keyboard and you can swap to a Norweigan keyboard, I know cause I have a sister in Norway.
Download demo from here to try out.
www.resco.com
So it can also remap the hardware keyboard?
-John
No, you allready have it. Pres 'a' or 'o' button, then doublepres dot button. After that pres space for as manu times than 'a' becomes 'ä'. Enjoy!
Is there not a faster way? Like a registry hack that would give "ä" when pressing "a" twice very fast? I think that would be a lot faster method - doubleclicking "a" rapidly to get "ä".
Could this be done with a registry editor?

Changes Sym-button order, that a-letter changes first to ä-letter and then to å-letter. ö-letter the same

Hej! How do you make this characters with Swedish ROM? I don't have it here, so can't say. Do you know?
The other way is to install Aekmap and remap buttons according to the way you want them to (ae.inc.ru)

I tried Aekmap but I just couldn't customize it. The menu was hard to use, is there a help file somewhere?
PS. Also, I can't see any scandinavian letters on the Full Screen Keyboard.
I don't know why everything has to be so hard with these Win CE devices, I never had problems finding easy to use programs for my Palm devices...

I use SPB Keyboard Pro, you can set a secondary the keyboard language, and just press a key on keyboard and you have your characters, I know cause I have a sister in Norway. In fact I use a lot of their software, which has improved the WM2003 no end.

Well, in order to make it work you have to read an AEC FORMAT section at Aekmap page.
You may contact me via ICQ or by PM and I will explain you in details if the web-site doesn't give you a clue.
Solution to get scandinavian characters (å, ä ö)
This is the most simple way to get scandinavian/Swedish charset on your device.
Hardkeyboard:
ftp://xda:/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Misc/Swedish hardkeyboard fix.zip
(Source:http://www.smartmobile.se/)
Softkeyboard:
ftp://xda:/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Misc/Scandinavian softkeyboard.zip
(Source:http://www.epocket.no/tastatur/)
No tweaking needed.
Have a nice day!
Hi, resurrecting an old thread... I just got a new HTC Wizard and I can't get the softkeyboard from http://www.epocket.no/tastatur/ to work.
I installed it, and it shows up on the Remove Programs menu but I can't use it... I mean; I can't find the program anywhere and the softkeyboard looks the same as before.

I updated today my SPV M3000 from ROM version 1.3.1.11 FRA to the new official version from Orange 2.16.1.3 FRA.
All worked ok. But now the keyboard layout is wrong. When I push the key A in the screw shows the Q.
I need help to now where I can change that.
[/img]
Not 100% sure if it applies to the newer rom:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Changing_Device_Language
I do that and the key "A" and "Q" work well, but the key "Y" and "Z" are wrong. And also the symbols on the keys, like @, *. etc....
I check with a lot of diferent codes but nothing positive.
I have really a big problem!!

So the reg edit there for the Locale -did- change something, at least?
If so - I guess you just need a different Locale than the 'French' one. What is the physical layout of your keyboard itself? i.e. the three rows of letters on the slide-out keyboard
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"Locale"="0407"
reset device after that.
use AEKMap

...sound logical - but where I can do registry settings on the WIZARD ? Which prog is needed ?
Hints are very welcome, cause I flashed my german version (VDA II from Vodafone) with the QTEK eng ROM and have the same problem with the keyboard layout now !
Thanks,
Joe

look for...
- PHM Regedit
- Tascal Registry Editor (TRE)
which are the two popular free ones
- Total Commander CE
has a registry editor built-in. does fast searches, but I wouldn't use it for editing much. also free
And there's a few commercial "does everything" ones that include registry editing
Other than that - if you're familiar with the registry on your desktop machine - you should be ready to go
I own an AT&T Fuze but since I'm not with AT&T and I'm with T-Mobile, I flashed to the HTC 1.90.405.1 ROM. Now don't get me wrong... With few exceptions, this ROM is actually almost exactly what I was looking for.
My main MAJOR problem is that my hardware keyboard mapping is completely off. I can type text but formatting characters such as "-" and "?" and "_" and the Fn and Caps keys and even numbers (0-9) are not mapped correctly and so I can't figure out how to type properly on this keyboard.
My question: Does a cab file exist that fill fix this so that the keyboard will be mapped correctly?
you need to install the fuze keyboard cab. Search for it.
EDIT: here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2855122

Thank you so much. I'm going to use this until I can get the money together and then I'm just going to change the hardware keyboard keys to the ones from the actual HTC Touch Pro.
Then I will never have to worry about it again.
Thanks again bro.
lol your welcome. I dont know i like having this keyboard layout better than the original touch pro because i noticed that i used the symbols a lot more than i do numbers when i am typing a text or email or notes.
I have an AT&T tilt that has been out of commission for some time, finally repaired the screen and put it back to work. I decided to try the HTC Western EzInput since it was the same as on the new Tilt II and Pure that I've been looking at.
I put it on and everything runs as documented, just some SIP change issues and everything else seems fine, except the hardware keyboard function layout is all wrong. I have searched forums and google and can't find a keyboard layout file that matches this keyboard. This is not an issue to be fixed with the tilt keyboard fix, its more than just a couple symbols off, I can't even type numbers at all with the hardware keyboard.
I know I need a 4 row, 29 key, keyboard layout file to make this work properly with the eT9 settings, but I just can't seem to find one. I also can't seem to find the information needed to modify one of the existing layout files to match.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to adjust myself to using touch only, but their are situations where the hardware keyboard is just more useful.
Oh and btw, I am using shifu's WM6.5 WWE V4.2 rom and loving it, just want my hardware keyboard working properly
Double that for me as well. Every version of ezinput 2 i have found so far for qvga f*** up my keyboard layout. If there is a version that don't, I would love to see it.
What I would have to do was once I installed EZInput, I'd install the Tilt Keyboard fix (you can easily search the forum) then soft reset.

I installed Energy Leo ROM on my tilt 2 and that thing is absolutely GREAT!!!
I have one problem, i text alot and the ROM i installed was for the TP2 and it has a different keyboard layout so my keys don't match, any one that can help???
tilt2.blownfuze.org/rhodium/Tilt2HWKeyboard.cab
please use the search function next time
Obviously search is the first thing anyone tries.
I have searched for 3 hours for a fix and have found several CABs, none of which have fixed my keyboard layout. This one doesn't work either. The entire top row of my TP2's keyboard is numbers. When I hit the numbers (even after installing any of the above-mentioned CABs), different symbols come up like @_!()'":/.
Anyone have a fix for a new RHOD210 Touch Pro from T-Mobile? I bought it this week and have been looking for days for a fix. Any way of modifying it myself?

That fixes my Home Key going to the Start Menu, but the keyboard is still not laid out right.
Can someone maybe extract the Keyboard Map DLL from the stock Tmobile ROM so we can just replace it? I'm not sure if the needed file is SbdNopAll.dll or what...
Works great in a blink of an eye, thanks alot xredjokerx!!!
