So with custom ROMs on our X1s exactly what programs are compatabile with our phones from other devices? e.g., will HTC Touch Diamond or HTC Touch Pro games work with the Sex1? I know that programs specifically made for the X1 still work fine even with custom ROMs...at least, in my experience.
I see lots of softwares available for HTCs and I know some work with our phones, but a lot of them do not list the Sex1 on their compatibility list.
It's all about the OS and the chipses/drivers. Xperia can run everything made for WinMo and most of the things made specifically for the newer HTC devices, because of the same chipset/drivers.

Im curious, for the T-mobile Wing, will any cabs designed for any other WM6 devices work on my phone?
for example: Say a guy in the trinity forum makes a sweet theme (or program like any of the ones mentioned in my sig), would his trinity cabs work on my wing?
If it wont for trinity to wing, what phones ARE supporting when crossing devices?
Most programs are designed for the operating system, and not for any specific model of phone. If you see a theme you like, chances are it'll work on your phone, likewise most programs will work too unless they are carrier specific (T-Mobile My 5 Faves for example). The only thing that you really have to becareful about is changing the operating system, which (assuming you're a noob) I would wait on untill you read through the forums and understand the risks that it might present.
With all the new WM 6.1 devices coming up, each with their own nice 3D user interfaces, would it be possible to exchange these UIs from one device to another? WOuld it for instance be possible to extract the Omnia user interface from the samsung sgh-i900 and run it as a today application on the HTC Touch Diamond? Or the Sony Ericsson Experia X1s interface? And vice versa...
I would expect this to be possible since it is a WM6.1 device, or am I wrong? What would be needed?
I expect to see Manilla and Xperia homescreens running on each others hardware.
Dear developers,
The touch diamond would make a great candidate for the Android operating system. Are there some ppl who can make it work for the diamond?
i've tried the Touch Cruise and Kaiser versions, but both of them are not working. Not so suprising, because the chipsets and resolutions are different (and what more..)
A Diamond Android rom would be great!

A few words about the HTC Kaiser:
it has a great design, with many functions. Also good features (GPS, QWERTY keyboard, etc).
But: I now have about 4 WM-devices at home. An Asus P525, an HTC Hermes, an Ipaq 914c, a Sony Xperia X1, and a Kaiser.
And you know which one performs the WORST? It is the Kaiser
And I guess it is due to the Qualcomm CPU. The menus open much slower than on the other ones. The P525 from Asus has a feature to set the CPU to power save/normal/turbo. Even power save is not as bad as the Kaiser.
Also the scrolling in the menus (WM6.5 style) is not as smooth. And yes, I tried all kinds of ROMs (6.1 and 6.5, different builds and chefs as well).
I think I will sell my Kaiser now and avoid Qualcomm CPUs for the future.
Too bad the Hermes has no GPS built-in. Otherwise, I would give it clear preference.
have you tried gfxboost yet?
(search for it on xda!)

downloaded and installed it! Thank you! It is way better now, still behind other CPUs but approaching "reasonable".
GFXboost is available here:

also this thread seems interesting: (June 1st 2009!!!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496528
Now I wonder why almost none of the chefs use gfxboost in their ROMs?
glad to help! htc really did a number with the kaiser (and continues to do so with newer models)...htc makes great hardware but they really need to get their act together with all the driver and software issues and inadequacies...
BUT xda and the geniuses here has been such a wonderful resource to get our devices purring like they should be in the first place when they leave the factory
ALSO, the kaiser is a GREAT machine (as you mentioned)...feel free to tweak it and try out other ROMs...if you are into wm6.1 and manila2d, i highly recommend the ROM i am currently using, with gfxboost added on manually of course (HyperDragon IV Rhodium ROM April 10th, 2009)
regarding ROMs with gfxboost, SOME exist (i think abusalza with his PDACorner ROMs briefly included gfxboost in one of his recent ROMs)
if you're looking for better scrolling, then i hear wm6.5 has builtin scrolling that is better than touchflo and i have read reports that wm6.5 also benefits from gfxboost but you already seem to know most of this, judging from your first post!
Hi!
I am kind of a noob when it comes to phone hacking so i ask for help here.
I have a Blackstone with WM 6,1. Is there any way to put WM 6,5 on it and make it work as smooth as it does now?Or do you recommend to put Android on it? I have read stuff about putting android on a blackstone and it does not sound like it works any good, but maybe i am wrong.
What do i need to swap from WM 6,1 to WM 6,5, and how do i do it.
Thank you from Forca
Windows Mobile 6.5 is not lighter or faster than 6.1. It takes more RAM and use more CPU. The only WM 6.5 ROMs for Touch HD are the ones done by the cooks here. They have ported also Manilla 2.5, so you can have twitter, facebook, footprints.. tabs weather animations, etc
You can get a very useful and fast ROM installing KWBR 6.1 and then installing a twitter client, facebook app, marketplace... if you want.
In the end depends on what you want more. WM 6.5 ROMs come with latest versions of many apps, but most of them can be installed on WM 6.1 too.
There have been other people asking the same only a few days ago, please use search:

There's a section on this forum for Android on Touch HD but it's not a ROM and it's not a replacement for WM ROMs. Several things do not work at all (GPS, camera), and it's very slow on average. It's nice to take a look at Android and test apps, since you do not have to modify the ROM, you just reboot and load Android from the SD card. But it's not like you're going to run Android all the time on this device.
Thank you very much for your help
