Change IMEI? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible? And if it is, how?
It would be practical to me if I could change the IMEI of my G1 to that of my old phone, be cause of the way my operator works.
As far as I can understand this is not an illigal topic on the forum. If it is, please tell me so I can delete the thread.

It is in the wrong forum, and its not possible (afaik) to change your IMEI.

I believe it is illegal in most countries

Someone asked this somewhere else and I'm pretty sure it's illegal

Start asking your questions in the right sub-forum (Q&A) (Theme) or even in (General), or simply search.......Final result will be a ban for you up too 3 days.
Thanks

Starting a thread with Helppppppppppp!!!!!! will not get you very far here. Have you even tried searching for your answer? Both questions have already been answered many times.
Thought he was asking for help because his 'p' and '!' keys were stuck......

ROFL. Nice one.
no the sim unlock from old Herm won't work with hermII. Only way is to pay to unlock or call the wireless provider.
Yeah...DIE A-HOLE DIE!!!!
(sarcasm)
Can't you f*ckers at least be nice about your condescension and arrogance? Guy's got five posts, obviously needs a little assistance.
"please do a search on this forum instead of listing redundant threads" might be a nicer way to phrase it. Now mutant black's post above could have answered the thread and been done with it, instead of stretching it out with insults. $.02
As i stated, im really sorry, im new and got excited i just got my tytn 2 and wanted to pimp it out .hahaha....now i know this will never happen again, how can i delete this thread.

please read before you post
this question has been asked and answered many times already
welcome to the forum
if you seach the forum you will find the answer you need with out having to ask a question
:-| i'm new to this forum, too. me myself knows how to search and find answers and i hope every of my future questions will be answered, also if there is an answer anywhere in the forum, search isn't the best in my opinion.
so, senior member: it's ok to tell the new ones to search to forum. but if you take yourself some time to fill some lines, why don't you answer the question, too, and hope the new user will search the next time?
@hallais
there are two possibilities:
- you product isn't a real unbranded htc one or something grey ipmort or something else, than you will never be able to register yout product.
- you tried to enter the 15-numbers imei, but should enter the serial number, found on your device when you plug off the battery.

You can hope as much as you want, but if you just give them the answer you just teach them that they dont have to search, they just get told the answer for the simple effort of spamming the forum with another junk thread with the same old question. The majority of people are lazy. give them the chance to be and they will be. Not even a supposedly "developer" site is immune to that.
I'd never dream of telling the mods here how to run their site, but my personal preference is for deleting the threads and banning the users who waste the time of every other forum user with their selfish laziness.
here you go..i have done all the hard work for you...took all of 30 seconds

or here

as you see there can always be other solutions for a problem, so i think it isn't that bad answering a question ;-)

Why would you want to - it's one of the only verifiable pieces of information a buyer can trust. I suspect noone will help you with this.
Yes... you are right,... in case of selling the item, but i bought it as a present and i want to offer it as new... but it's not
we are on a forum so... any question is ok
i know of no way to do this. It is not erased when updating a rom, so it is stored somewhere else within the hardware of the phone. I suspect that it is hardwired somewhere along with the IMEI, and so you cannot delete it.
Best not to tell people something is new when it's not, huh?
and no, not any question is ok. Ask about warez, changing IMEI numbers and generally how to screw people over tends to get a chilly response in most places!

IMEI question

Hi,
I have a question that if a moderator wants to close the thread I will understand
I will change my phone using my operator insurance, so I will conserve my phone and make it repaired so I can sell It.
I just want to know if I can change my IMEI.
I repeat, if my question isn't in the right place here, just lock the thread.
Thanks in advance.
You don't need to change your IMEI and doing so is illegal in most countries.
You will not get any advice on how to change your IMEI on this forum.

mightyrom questions

I just flashed my Sprint TP2 to the latest MIGHTYROM... now I have some questions I hope someone can answer
1. I am missing the down arrow that is supposed to be on the top right that shows running programs, memory etc. I have seen threads where others say they are missing it too. How do I get this back?
2. Can we change the FLIP CLOCK to something else but leave the weather there?
3. Where is the WORD CORRECT that is supposed to be there so that when you type, it brings up word suggestions.. mine does not.. it also doesnt bring up contacts when you start typing in the name in the TO: field
Thats all for now... Thanks....
You'll be much better off asking your questions on a different forum in the appropriate thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98

I posted questions in that forum before but twice was told that was the incorrect forum.. I did a CDMA flash and that is the CDMA forum so I dont know why they would say that... thats the reason why these questions are posted elsewhere...
