Recently got a diamond touch and as it was previously locked to vodafone with some apps like opera seemingly tied in decided to flash it.
anyway all working good with wm 6.5 and touch FLO 3d2 installed but now im suffering memory issues.
an exmple of this is if i try to play any youtube clip i get not enough memory please close some running programs , even though nothing else is running.
also had this happen when trying several other apps.
could it be the diamond just doesnt have enough power when it comes to internal ram and rom to run apps well enough and that im gonna have to revert back to 6.1.
anyone else had this issue or know of a workaround
Theres lots off apps you can get to free up ram on your device, some are freeware look on google, also you can try disabling any home sceen plugins like tf3d and such b4 running any resorce hungry applications, and finally check what apps boot up with windows, disabling these can allso free up ram
im running htcaddicts clean ram but even if i run that direct b4 hand on a lvl 2 pass i stil get the issues. not sure how i would disable touch flo and tbh thats not really an option as i use the programs tab to access most stuff so disabling would mean navigation changes.
Im sure ive read a post on forum about some hardware settings you can change regarding cahche settings, flushing etc but cant for life of me find it anywhere
Try Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool you should be able to use that to tinker with cache settings ect
update on this, the memory problem even after hard reset and clearing cache is still an issue
build is wm 6.5 23016
memory shows as 107.96mb
now even running or trying to run the in built game teeter gives me the exact message
Initialize teeter fail.
Memory is not enough.
this is a real puzzle as even running clean ram and clearing cache and stuff and checking in task manager nothign seems to get round this.
has anyone else experienced this issue using 6.5

Hi,
I have a Kaiser which keeps locking up whenever I try to use IE. Very rarely will it actually load a complte page and allow youto click on a link. More often that not, the device hangs whilst trying to load a page, the little circle in the bottom right stops 'spinning', and everything freezes. The soft keys onscreen and even the hard keys stop working and you have to do a soft reset.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I had this on mine... wasn't sure what was causing it so did a hard reset and re-installed apps and its fine now. What apps/tweaks you got? Maybe there is something common that caused it?
I still have the problem on mine. I am using Opera now don't want to re-install all the apps.
My installed apps:
htc audio home plug
sktools
resco explorer
TT 6.032
iGo
Live Search
Google Maps
Opera
Palringo
BT Audio Toggle
Real One
Skype
Spb Backup
TCPMP
Sprite Backup
WM6 Remote Desktop
Yahoo Go 2.0
I have the following installed:
TomTom Navigator 6
SBP GPRS Monitor
OneNote Mobile
Fizz Traveller
Sprite Backup
Skype
HTC X- Button
I did have fit4Cat Hermes Tweaker installed, but as I was not using any of it I have just uninstalled it and tried IE and this time it is working.
Not sure ifthis really made the difference as Fit4Cat wasn't even running when I was having the problems. Weird.
I had the same issue but I had the patch installed that used the SD card for the IE cache. I removed that and did a warm reset.
I haven't had IE lock up on me in a day now on either Edge or 3g
That seems to have solved it!
The removal of Fit4Cat Hermes Tweaker was not the problem, it was a previous registry hack, that had worked on the Hermes, that I used to store the Cache on the Storage Card to save space.
I edited the registry to put the cache back on the device and IE loaded pages without locking up and it was much quicker too.
Thanks for this one.
Hmm I have that problem too ... and yes, I moved the cache to the card. I think that is the root cause.
Anyway, I use Opera Mini now which is way much faster. IE is just no contest against Opera Mini in terms of speed !

Same here, I changed the chache lokation to SD using Memmaid and IE was locking up randomly. But after reverting the settings back to original (use device memory) I didn't have a single hang.
I thought I downloaded and installed Diamond TF3D Config program. It's the one that you can change the tabs on the home page, add and delete tabs, right?
Well, it seems it was slowing down my setup so I tried to delete it several ways and each time it's still there.
So tonight, I came home and did a hard reset. Settings - clear programs - 1234
That does a hard reset, right?
Well, it redoes everything and guess what, the Diamond TF3D Config
program is STILL there....
Am I missing something?
FWIW, I'm using Dutty's 1.4 version ROM
Thanks,
Mark
That is indeed a hard reset. It might be a part of the customizations and to get rid of that, do a soft reset right before the customizations initialize.
Try going to settings/today/items/unclick Touch flo 3D
If you haven't tried it....
Will
I used Dutty's 2.2 ROM and the programme comes pre-installed as part of Dutty's ROM it seems. Using the advice above about soft-resetting before it installs the customisations should work (?) but then you won't have any of the other awesome apps Dutty pre-loads.
Also, I can;t say i have noticed the TF3D config affecting speed (when tried on my stock ROM) especially when the Advanced Configuration tweaks are applied.
Just my thoughts
I've tried searching with no effect.
I've got IgoV8 installed on my phone, running the latest Hyperdragon rom.
If I have manilla disabled then Igo will run no problem, Enable manilla and it won't load. No errors, nothing.
Tomtom works fine. Anyone got any ideas?

You probably not using the latest version of the IGO8, I'm using 8.0.0.44366 and it runs smoothly on all the latest releases of HDIII as well as on some others (see in my sig below) I now that previous vers of the IGO8 had compatibility problems.
Cheers, just checked my device and i'm running 8.0.0.31442.
Will try an update.
I have a lot of problems running iGO when I have been running without a reset for a few days or I have multiple programs running..
iGO seems to demand a lot of ram to startup.. Not sure if it's some free/largest chunk type of check or if it truly attempts to load and it bombs out. I see the spiny busy cursor for a second or two then nothing else.. No messages from iGO.
I've pretty much given up on using it anymore.. Even when I do get it running by exiting most everything or doing a reset it seems like it only runs at most 20-25 minutes before it crashes.
BTW, I don't run Manilla or such, but I do run SPB Pocket Plus with Phone Alarm, SPB Weather, KaiserNotify, and Flexmail as my typical load.. And when I'm on the road, I typically also run TrackMe. This gives me about 30-35m of ram free typically, and when iGO is running it 'only' takes about 8m but it could need a lot more to startup, not sure.

Do you run HTC home? I had such problems when i have used Dutty's roms (not manilla), the conflict between Igo8 and htc home is a well known issue and you can find many posts on that.
I can get Igo8 to run correctly with Manilla2D (8.0.0.41506) so an upgrade should do the trick for you. this version seems to have a lot of problems if you minimize or exit the program. I think you are right with the ram, because occasionally Manilla2D will be closed when igo exits. I'm left with a screen that says "Click here to start touchflow2d" or something similar.
but a lot of times I just want to minimize IGo. and it is impossible to get it back if the running programs taskbar is hidden by manilla2d. running the program again opens a new instance, and causes all sorts of problems.
It wouldn't be so bad if Igo8 appeared in the task manager as a running program, but sadly it does not. I'm using the Opal task manager that is compatible with Manilla2D (XDA-Team TaskManager_2_1_34563_3.cab). Anyone know how to make Igo8 appear correctly as a running app in that task manager or any other solution to this issue?
All sorted, upgraded to 8.3.
Can you please sent link where can it be downloaded
I got a Diamond about a month ago, and i have been a very long customer of HTC, since the days of xda 2s/Blue angel to xda orbit2/Polaris.
now i have the Diamond, im really wondering if i should have bothered getting the iphone 3g.
it seems to be the slowest device i have ever had.... and it is due to the touchflo3d app. which i will be honest, i love it. its great and works well, even when skinned. but after a soft reset, just after flo3d boots up, i am using 60% of the memory, is this normal? if this is, then this is unacceptable for a device that does not have enough memory to run.
if i unload flo3d, i can get it down to about 50%, which is better, but with a boring homescreen.
so, this now means that windows uses half of the system memory just to run, 60% with flo3d and if i run wifi and Opera or youtube together, about 80% of the time i get "the device is low on memory" message.
My question is , is this normal? and is there anything i can do to make my situation better? i am currently running the Syrius WWE 1.00.25.03 rom....
cheers and sorry bout the rant...
I personally don't like TF3D, I think it's badly flawed and half-finished. I'm running Panosha's ultra-lite Shimple 1.1 ROM without TF3D, using a bunch of SPB today plugins and my free memory is 72MB after a soft reset.
Having said that, there are ways to keep TF3D and improve the memory situation. Disabling the HTC dialer and volume control can gain you as much as 12MB for example.
Some ROMs save more memory than others, I haven't tried that many of them but HallengreeN's is meant to be quite good in this respect. He has a new one coming out this weekend apparently.

Memory issues?
I'm using HTC standard 1.93 ROM. Never had any 'Out of memory' messages. Never had any slow device issues. I use MemMaid to clean up my device once a day and make sure applications close, not minimise using HTC Task Manager.
I certainly don't agree that TF3D is badly flawed and half finished... but we're all entitled to our own opinions
Just to clarify my previous post, I've never had any "the device is low on memory" messages so that part isn't normal. I'd definitely recommend a new ROM or at least a hard reset.
Your memory figures do sound fairly normal though, TF3D is a memory hog and I used to get bad delays with it. This would have been with one of Dutty's 1.93 ROMs back in August/September.
Reflash and lose the dialer and things should improve!

Could you give more details on how to go about on that? Where and how can I disable the volume control and dialer?

The easiest way to disable the dialer is to use either Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool or Diamond Tweak. Diamond Tweak also has a setting for disabling the HTC Volume Control but it doesn't work on newer ROMs so the only working method is by cab file.

Hello!
So I am having some problems with my X1. It is laggy and it freezes pretty often. Sometimes I have to remove the battery many times in a day becouse of freezing. And writing with hardware keyboard isn't very nice anymore becouse the letter are coming to screen with delay and sometimes it skips over some letters. Then I have also had some weird problems sometimes that when someone calls to me and I try to answer the phone it just disconnects the call. And phone has freezed couple of times on its own without I've done anything with it. Once it didn't wake me up in the morning becouse it had freezed during night. So I really can't trust this machine at the moment.
I did hard reset couple of months ago becouse I had some similar problems before. Now it is not so bad but still annoying. I am considering buying new phone but I like this one and if there is way to make it work it would be nice.
So I am using Windows Mobile 6.1 original version and I haven' done any modifications. Just using mobile shell panel and couple other software. So I would like to get my phone stable and reliable again.
they sound like all the problems i've had with a custom rom! this never happened to me on 6.1 :S did you ever flash any custom roms before then go back to 6.1?

No I've never used custom rom. Although I bought this phone used little bit over year ago so I can't know for sure if previous owner had tried out some custom rom. But I still doubt it. This phone was just couple of months old when I bought it.
You have any ideas how to get rid of these problems?
Have you tried reflashing your rom using SEUS? Another advice I can give you is to install a decent task manager that shows all running processes. Maybe there is some kind of software running in the background that destabilizes your phone. Check Windows\StartUp to see if your phone loads any additional programs during the boot sequence.

Thanks for your input altae!
I haven't tried reflashing rom. I have no idea how it works. So if you could give me some kind of clear step by step instructions or link. And does it remove all the saved data in the phone?
And I checked Windows/Startup folder and there are four items in there.
Paneldefault
panelmanager
Panolauncher
RunGNAgent
I am using Panoramic launchpad so the Panolauncher belongs to that program. Panoramic launchpad is quite nice program but I think it is little bit buggy. Should I remove it? But I don't hve idea what are the other programs. I've used xperiatweak to change the startup panel to the mobile shell so I think "Paneldefault" and "panelmanager" could refer that perhaps?
edit:And btw here is list of programs I've installed.
Panoramic Launchpad
Spb Mobile shell
Spb Keyboard
Resco explorer
Clifford's XperiaTweak
Resco photoviewer pro
CoreCodec CorePlayer
Burrotech Scan2PDF
Aidem Pocket Painter
Spb TV
Viksoe.dk Flite
DS-Info DiamondTV
Adisasta wmTorrent v3
PPCLINK HiCalc
+All the original X1 programs
Paneldefault belongs to Xperia Tweak. It loads the default panel you have set. Panelmanager is what it's called, the panelmanager Panolauncher could indeed be a reason for your problems. Why don't you delete the entry in the startup folder. You can still launch it manually. I don't know RunGNAgent.
To reflash your rom got to SE website and download SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Software) from the support section. It explains step by step how to update. Post the results and we will see how to proceed.
Do a hard-reset or flash to one of the custom ROMs. Is it just me or does these things happen inevitably? Seems like the case for me. I hard-reset once every few months.
