i know how you all feel, my girlfriend was whining that i loved my phone more than her and that my phone couldn't be that great so i let her play with it one day and she wants to play with my phone more than me now. ;-) ;-) but she now understands the bond that i share with my phone and she wants me to get her a hermes now.

I just found it ironic some of the users that posted in this thread and didnt complain that this thread was useless, but complain and treat others like dirt when others post threads that are actually more on topic for the site then this thread. So I guess I learned theres such thing as general popularity on here, and not a matter of fighting for the principles of specific values.

I think it is the difference between entertainment and harrassment. Being asked to work for someone who says - I am too busy to figure this out - would you tell me how to do this... is VERY different from a fellow geek who just discovered his wife is one as well. IMHO

I am learning, and have the home customizer v1.0 and such... was wondering how to change the color of the start bar and the bottom bar that says calender and contacts? how do I load more colors? all I have is the "at%t theme, guava bubbles and the other two it came with

i downloaded RCmod 2.1..... loaded it into my phone and installed it, in the same place/way I did home customizer, but I cannot find RC mod or how to use it.. sorry for beeing a noob guys. i just need a little help

Everyone was way nicer than they probably should have been. Gotta tell you it takes some pretty big " cajones " to come on a site like this, ask a question that is the subject of at least 1000 ? posts. Then tell everyone you don't feel like searching, just answer the question.

root before jailbreak?

hey i got a g1 and um im going to try to follow a rot video which lets me know to put in a flashrec.apk and a recovery image...so back up then apply imgage??? but one question....do i need to jailbreak my phone before i do the root process????

no such thing as jailbreaking an android device. Thats for Apple only thing, Android doesnt limit you from doing what the device was made to do, only need to root to gain extra functionality.
I agree though, you sounds ill-informed of the risks and consequences of rooting your phone. Do some research, consider how you would feel w/ your G1 being as useful as a 'brick', and make an informed decision.....

okay this is what ive done...i use the flash rec apk and then backup and applied the ra recovery img. now i can go to the recovery mode...can i apply any rom not knowing the spl?...also one last question.... if i need to unroot do i do this by appliying the dreamin.img by pressing the end and camera then apply and this should unroot it right????

youve seenthe complicated way of jailing breaking an iphone i presume. heres how complicated it is in android
open settings > applications > uncheck allow non-market apps > press yes

but really dude, learn to search and read some of the guides, all your questions have been answered 100 times over. you are not special and will not be getting any special help from anyone here on such a stupid question.
you should goto the tmobile store though and let them finish the rooting for you, they are professionals and will do a really good job, some of them are nice and won't charge you the $13.79 fee either.

Sure, thanx for being serious.
I have to apply for graduate admissions in US for Fall 2013. And i got my recommendation letters form my recommenders. However, they didn't give it on the college letter head. But now my college is closed because of vacations up till 26th December after which my exams start. I took this concern to my recommenders and they agreed to help me. BUT to access the letter-head they need to ask it from the clerk. The clerk (who is illiterate) thinks I am doing all this procedure so that i can quit my admission and ask my fees's back from the college. My professor tried to explain it to him but the guy happens to be the trustee's nephew. I call the trustee and i learn he doesn't know what recommendation letters are. He wont meet me so that i could explain, he rarely answers my calls since he knows my number now . I tried everything to convince him that this is the standard procedure and everyone applying has to do this and it is not only me.
His reply is that 'y do you want admission when you are still in 7th semester?'. He doesn't understand that international applicants have to apply early ! BEFORE THE UNIVERSITY DEADLINES
So, i have a soft copy of the letter head...reproduction needed
(this is wrong...i know, but i don't wanna waste one year just so that the trustee doesn't understand the process and thinks i will rob him)
