I'm sorry but I have to interject here. You think MY post was childish? Stop for a second and study your title; I can hear you now going "My My My"...not very befitting for an adult if you ask me.
Being a relatively new member, you have not had the time to really aquatint yourself with how things work around here. We have an off topic section for a reason. Things that do not pertain to a specific device or are just rants like these, do not belong in the device forums. It was not wrong of the moderator to move your post, he was doing his job.

Stepping into a realm of what i thought was a brotherhood of telephone-techies that would have shared the wealth of knowledge and technologies (including but not limited to software) and instead i walked into the shadows of bashers and homo-erotics (four letter words and iron rods buddy??) Huh? Your sig says you have a Sapphire. You can do the same things you do with that only it's already rooted & unlocked. Other than that you have a G1/Dream with a special battery cover.

like previous posts, you have a g1 that you can load sweet roms to with a couple shortcuts compared to the retail g1....
still, ultimately pointless through and through, nothing really special about a dev dream.
to sum it all up for you.....
an adp is a rooted and unlocked retail g1 with a special battery cover...
that should make searching easier

i would imagine one is for general Nexus One information (touchscreen issues, USB Driver info)

The other reason is that clear categories/sub-forums help you find the correct information faster.
I like the new layout because if I want to know about apps/themes, there's a forum.
If you're too stupid to figure out the different between Q&A, Development, Accessories, Theme/Apps, and General Questions, should you really be on a modding/hacking forum?

Pretty much the only news about nexus recently has been bad news (ie "the ram sucks the signal sucks the screen sucks the image quality sucks") its a real drag. but Ill try to care less

How can you be desperate for users if you just launched the site? I would study SEO and get effective keywords running through a sitemaps xml file to get crawled if you want users. After that's setup submit it into the search engines. Many of them.

Not desperate but I just want people to use the site. I have seo measures in place, though I do need to set up meta tags for the dynamic pages. I just figure this is one way to get people interested. Besides even good seo takes a month to see any results.

I come onto these forums and for the most part, people are kind and considerate. Then there's a handful of people who just ruin it. I read a posting in one of the forums this morning. Obviously it was in the wrong section, but that's obvious to me and others who have browsed these forums for a while.
What's the first reply I read? It's an offensive posting using derogatory name calling meant to put the OP down. It's one thing to correct someone, but it doesn't mean we beat them down in the process. Why are we trying to make people feel stupid?
If it bothers you to the point where you want to call someone names and try to make them feel like ##### then maybe you need to step away and cool down. Give a gentle nudge, report it to a moderator(so they can move it), and go about your way.

i appreciate your sentiments and i see that you are hurt by what was said but then again...welcome to the world...the world does not care about how you feel... the best example is the noob video the site made when you were seeking registration...if you didnt watch it please do...it is awesome and i guess that is how these people who consider themselves experts feel (perhaps they are entitled to that)

No one is entitled to the right to be rude freely.Yeah,I too sometimes am bothered by some people who actually cause trouble by repeating already answered questions or that are too lazy to search,but I never got rude-at least not without apologizing afterwards.

Meg, it happens. For the most party though, people who do thinks like this usually have a reason behind it. All it takes is usually a little reading before have to understand the rulesand regulations of the forum but a lot of people are too lowest to read them.

1st nothing was said to me, I'm just tired of reading these post that attack the poster for their "noobness". For those advising me to let go and move on, good advice. At the end of the day I can't control what others post.
Yes, I've watched the noob video recently and find it extremely funny, not offensive.

Spot on. There is never a need to put someone down. I'm relatively new to this forumn and often find myself hesitant to post for fear of being berated. However, for every one asshole spouting off, there are twenty excellent members who will happily answer your question or point in the proper direction without being nasty about it.
well just my 2 cents, but i went from the dell streak forum and it was awesome i helped ppl they helped me never any rude answers. got myself a galaxy tab bc of more development and its full of dickheads (not everyone) i dont even post in that forum sucks bc i love my tab but every time ive posted i get a rude answer ppl are just mean

i only call ppl out when they deserve it like the other day in the cdma hero forums when a certain someone cough... andy lowe.. cough triple posted asking the same question and was not clear at all so yea ill definitly call someone out when they deserve how else are u going to keep noobs in line.
I agree with the OP. There are plenty of people on this site that need an attitude check. Everyone starts somewhere, you learn things by asking questions, and having people to guide you. You do not learn anything by being told off by some random person who thinks they are better than you, because god knows why.
There are also the exact opposite though, it seems few and far between, because most of the time the people that are rude give everyone else a bad rap. I have found plenty posts that are very helpful and have answered my questions, but a lot of the times browsing through other threads, when people have simple questions or comments to be made they are attacked by the "know it alls".
1. If the poster is offensive, report.
2. If the OP is retarded and made mistakes even after being told to read the rules, he deserves to... be re-educated.
3. This topic is redundant.
