FML is just just a term meaning ****mylife. mainly you tell your stories thats r either funny,weird, or just messed up and end it with FML.

Today, I had to buy another pair of 'fat jeans', because my old 'fat jeans' became my new 'skinny jeans'. FML........
Well the Xperia X1a got me in debt. FML

How many pockets does the average person have? Well i know i always have loadz and the phone could be in a multitude of pockets but generally in my chest pocket next to my heart, anyway so i'm out in town with my tusty Nokia Ringo "yes i feel old" feeling the ol bladder kicking in decided i have to go to them horrible town toilets "we all know what they like" anyway sprinklin away finish and force of habbit flush the toilet only to hear a splash very similar to taking a dump, look down and oh my god the Ringo is drinking toilet water "well i'd have love to have left it" but just purchased so had to get it you can imagine whats going through my mind? @ least i flushed before lol so i get it out and put under the hair dryer think i must have spent a good hour, didn't turn the phone on for about 3 days, to my suprise when turned on it worked, only for me to be moving away about 6 weeks later for work to get to my destination and find i'm in a city with no working mobile and no explanantion as to why it didn't work? Untill phone the x and find out that orange juice was the culprit "never spent so much money on payphones" but alls good many years later i have a Tilt and am happy

Something similar happened to me a while ago with my motorola star tac...
I was having it on my shirt pocket, went to the bathroom and suddenly my star tac was swimming on the WC together with all nasty fluids there!
I flushed first then took it off and of course it was dead...

Just wasn't a Nokia was it? ahhhhhh and the Ringo was an all in one unit couldn't even take the battery out often compared to a brick

Yep i remeber was my first real job working as a trainee mechanic and being fleased by a new phone, got it from a shop called Tandy to which i'm pretty sure no longer exists as outlets "shops" anymore?
They no longer work as was on the analog network and had *# commands to do anything
I'm not sure but also think they were the first ever pay and go phone?

What's the difference between General and Q&A?

i would imagine one is for general Nexus One information (touchscreen issues, USB Driver info)
while this one is for Q&A - where do i plug it in to charge it, can i use a stylus, can i root it, things of the like.

I think its a conspiracy by the small douche sect of xda trying to create more opportunities to berate people for not using the search function or posting in the wrong forum. Don't know if you're just trolling but there are separate sections and a search function for a reason: so that people aren't asking the same questions ( that have already been answered) over and over again.
The other reason is that clear categories/sub-forums help you find the correct information faster.
I like the new layout because if I want to know about apps/themes, there's a forum.
If you're too stupid to figure out the different between Q&A, Development, Accessories, Theme/Apps, and General Questions, should you really be on a modding/hacking forum?

Agree, it mainly prevents a lot of redundent information and can assist in narrowing the info down to a sub-forum.

Lol. I was literally thinking the same thing when I reread my post. Ive been pretty disapointed with my phone as of late. Pretty much the only news about nexus recently has been bad news (ie "the ram sucks the signal sucks the screen sucks the image quality sucks") its a real drag. but Ill try to care less

That's because people are trying, yes TRYING, and trying HARD to find anything at all wrong with the Nexus One. People are upset the Android is rocking.

Can't we all just get along?

I come onto these forums and for the most part, people are kind and considerate. Then there's a handful of people who just ruin it. I read a posting in one of the forums this morning. Obviously it was in the wrong section, but that's obvious to me and others who have browsed these forums for a while.
What's the first reply I read? It's an offensive posting using derogatory name calling meant to put the OP down. It's one thing to correct someone, but it doesn't mean we beat them down in the process. Why are we trying to make people feel stupid?
If it bothers you to the point where you want to call someone names and try to make them feel like ##### then maybe you need to step away and cool down. Give a gentle nudge, report it to a moderator(so they can move it), and go about your way.

i appreciate your sentiments and i see that you are hurt by what was said but then again...welcome to the world...the world does not care about how you feel... the best example is the noob video the site made when you were seeking registration...if you didnt watch it please do...it is awesome and i guess that is how these people who consider themselves experts feel (perhaps they are entitled to that)

No one is entitled to the right to be rude freely.Yeah,I too sometimes am bothered by some people who actually cause trouble by repeating already answered questions or that are too lazy to search,but I never got rude-at least not without apologizing afterwards.

Meg, it happens. For the most party though, people who do thinks like this usually have a reason behind it. All it takes is usually a little reading before have to understand the rulesand regulations of the forum but a lot of people are too lowest to read them.

1st nothing was said to me, I'm just tired of reading these post that attack the poster for their "noobness". For those advising me to let go and move on, good advice. At the end of the day I can't control what others post.

Spot on. There is never a need to put someone down. I'm relatively new to this forumn and often find myself hesitant to post for fear of being berated. However, for every one asshole spouting off, there are twenty excellent members who will happily answer your question or point in the proper direction without being nasty about it.

well just my 2 cents, but i went from the dell streak forum and it was awesome i helped ppl they helped me never any rude answers. got myself a galaxy tab bc of more development and its full of dickheads (not everyone) i dont even post in that forum sucks bc i love my tab but every time ive posted i get a rude answer ppl are just mean

I agree with the OP. There are plenty of people on this site that need an attitude check. Everyone starts somewhere, you learn things by asking questions, and having people to guide you. You do not learn anything by being told off by some random person who thinks they are better than you, because god knows why.
There are also the exact opposite though, it seems few and far between, because most of the time the people that are rude give everyone else a bad rap. I have found plenty posts that are very helpful and have answered my questions, but a lot of the times browsing through other threads, when people have simple questions or comments to be made they are attacked by the "know it alls".

1. If the poster is offensive, report.
2. If the OP is retarded and made mistakes even after being told to read the rules, he deserves to... be re-educated.
3. This topic is redundant.

I agree, in the past ten years or so, at least in the U.S. this has been one of the worst fads. Listen to hit music, its all about clubbin and the "imma do me" thing. Incredibly selfish, but to each his own i guess.

I'm sorry but I have to interject here. You think MY post was childish? Stop for a second and study your title; I can hear you now going "My My My"...not very befitting for an adult if you ask me.
Being a relatively new member, you have not had the time to really aquatint yourself with how things work around here. We have an off topic section for a reason. Things that do not pertain to a specific device or are just rants like these, do not belong in the device forums. It was not wrong of the moderator to move your post, he was doing his job.
Also, disrespecting a moderator will result in a temp ban so I advise you to be more considerate. kthks.

Would anyone want a "bible" thread, or is there one?

I'm not a noob to android by far, but this forum seems to be lacking a "bible" type of thread. An organized place where one can find the answers to whatever common questions they have.. I feel like lately, most questions get answered with a stock reply of "there's a search button", but when you ARE searching, if most of your results end up resulting in "there's a search button" as an answer- it gets frustrating.
With most devices, the same questions come up- "How do I root" "How do I restore to stock" "whats the difference between x and y roms?" "which is the best rom?"
Is there a thread that answers all of the basic questions, some sort of "Nexus 7 bible"? I haven't found one. I think it is good for rom developers- I read description of rom A and rom B, and I it can become hard to see what the differences are.. I mean it would be more than JUST that, but it would be helpful just to have a list of everything that is out, or anything else that might be useful.
The last bible thread I started(with help) has had over 30k views, and I think it was really helpful for people that just don't have time to sift thru the huge amount of information.. if I am right, and there isn't a bible type of thread, would anyone be willing to start/maintain one? I am more than willing to research all of the useful answers about this device if it might help people.. but I am too lazy to even try a few roms to see what the differences are if I am the only one that benefits.
I guess I am just looking for feedback or support, if I am right, and there isn't one GOOD place to get all of the answers.. I'm willing to contribute. But only if I know there is some sort of demand.

Yeah, this forum is a little too unfocused. I think that would help.

But I do agree a little. You can find a lot of info about roms and kernels (the difference and what they do) over at other devices. But what I usually miss is an overview of what you can do with them. Can they do Cifs (Windows File sharing access), OpenVPN and such. But I guess it's something you need to figure out for yourself.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, I'm willing to dive into things more if I know it might be helpful to others.. I'm super busy at the moment with the last 4 weeks of college(graduation time baby!), but I may create a google document that others can help contribute to if they so choose..
There isn't an n7 wiki either right? I'll do some searching, but I didn't know that my last device had a wiki until after we had already made out bible. It wasn't well done, and I think there alot of perks to a google doc, but I just want to be sure.
Edit: There is a wiki, but it seems really really sparse.. Links, to other links, to other links, in no particular order, not easily searched. There is actually no information on the page itself.. when I get some time I hope I can do better.
