goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Ship_exe
there are all the stock roms available, find the one that suits your needs
goto http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217
this is hard spl topic, read the instructions (7 simple steps) to downgrade your spl to default.
IF YOU USED USPL YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REVERT ANY SPL
Yeah I Used USPL ,
So I Only Have To Istall An Official Rom and the spl will go back as it was ?!
The Probllem Is That I Don't Know What Is My First Official Rom :s ?!
Is There Anything I Can Find from using the s/n or something !
basically spl will not return to normal as it actually did it the first time you reset your phone, anyway yep you just need to install stock rom. not to be rude mate but did you actually check the links I provided? in the first one there is a list of all stock roms, which of course depend from vendor, country, language etc. If your rom was for example in arabic + english there is only one you can download, therefore that must be the one. if not, you will have to read, read, read and then read the related threads for those roms until you find your one.
you could also goto htc site and try to download, if present, a rom update for your device. you will have to enter the IMEI of your phone and if your code is accepted, you will be 100% sure that you are allowed to flash that rom in your phone. and your warranty will be ok
I wish people didn't user Rapidshare who offer neither:
There are no more download slots available for free users right now. If you don't want to become a premium member, you might want to try again later.
That's about the sum of it. Sadly I too have a dead screen I need to restore to factory.

Hey guys, i just went from davidukes custom rom to a stock rom because i need to send phone into HTC, but now that i downgraded, the colors on the screen are all messed up, can someone please help me
This happens to me after I upgraded my radio. Press the power button once (sleep mode) and then press it to turn on the screen and see whether it helps. For me that's the way (the color returns to normal) and I will have to live with it everytime it is soft-reset/rebooted.

you need to follow the guide to restore your stock SPL. if it's a UK HD, i believe it SPL 1.14. anyway, click the "Restore Stock SPL" link in my signature for instructions.
@exlixx - what you describe is NOT normal. based on your description of the problem, seems you didn't upgrade your SPL; especially if you're using one of the new ROMs. if this is the case, check out the "Fix Greenscreens" guide to correct your problem.
how would i know which one i need, i bought it in USA and it came with an English rom so i would need WWE, but there are several ones...

all of these could be possibilities but... i dont know wat HKCSL means so maybe thats an abriviation for a country therefore i wouldnt need it, same goes for AFK... not sure which one i need even from the regular ones, my serial number is HT916KD***87 maybe you guys can tell me by my serial number
because right now i downloaded and have installed this one

but my screen is still messed up, and i already installed Restore_Stock_SPL_114_2.zip as well
just do some research using the model number (on the retail box), goto HTC's website and try to download a ROM using your serial number. did you buy from a retailer or person? is the model number T8282 or T8285? if you go into bootloader mode and and if you see BLAC100 it's a UK version, BLAC120 it's a Telstra HD. UK=1.14 SPL and Telstra =1.15 SPL. i suggest retracing your steps to ensure you didn't miss anything, e.g., doing something out of order. good luck!

May be u downgraded to the wrong stock SPL.
if u dont know do a hit and trial of all spl's starting from 1.14.00000.
Some one will surely work fine for u..
Do we really need another thread for this. Been discussed on many forums before. Just requires research. Use links provided by Cortez.i and post your queries within that thread. Abide by forum rules.
Check your SPL, what rom are you using. According to flashing guide do you have correct SPL for rom your using? If not you will experience this discolourization. Already a section on this in the wiki.

I just got a used xperia and i want everything back to original.
it has been hard spl which i think is preventing me from being able to update using ericsson update service.
It also has touch-it xperiance, which i effectively removed from the today menu, but the remnants of it are everywhere. I think its from the manila hd cab but im not sure.
the dialer is still tf3d, so are the notifications, as well as comm manager and im not sure what else
i dont want to hard reset because of all the other settings i put on widows mobile
i guess i probably need to remove tf3d and its cronies, re establish the original xperia user interface (touch-it xperiance 6.1 still shows up on startup), and put in the original spl which i can kind of figure out from previous threads but i need help with tf3d cause i dont want to screw up my phone!!!
thank you....

Please look around in this subforum or use the search. I think you're the third person in two weeks who asks this question.
To help answer your question:
If you can connect to SE update service and update from there, you will flash the latest official rom. That means that all stuff on the device (not on the sd-card) will be gone anyway. You can do a hard reset, which has the same effect but will restore the rom that was last flashed.
If you want to use an official rom, you have to flash stock spl. You can find that in the hard-spl thread (one of the sticky topics in the top of this forum).
Another way to obtain an official rom is to look in the rom library (also a sticky in this subforum), and look for the R3A rom you want. You probably want one with a specific language and maybe even a provider. Just look around in the R3A rom list to see which suits you best.
having the touch it xperience means you do not hav a stock rom
so you must flash a stock rom if you want it stock
look in the official rom thread, don't waste your time with SE update!
also if you flash a rom you must hard-reset anyway!
To go back to original, you need to follow these steps:
1) Download the stock rom for your country from the same forum, usually it's the Generic_UK.
2) Flash this stock rom to your mobile (this will clear all your settings and remove all data). IMPORTANT: Before doing this step, download PPCPIMBackup tool and backup all your data using this tool.
Additionally, you may have to restore your stock radio(not FM radio) BEFORE proceeding to Step 3 if it has been modified, search the forum on how to identify and do this.
3) Download the Hardspl utility and the stock rom's "ruu_signed.nbh". You'll find both in the Hardspl sticky post here. Connect your phone and run Hardspl, but before clicking "Next" in the first step, replace the "ruu_signed.nbh" in Hardspl's folder with the stock one you downloaded. Now continue hardspl and your stock SPL will be restored. IMPORTANT: Make sure you don't have a file named "Kovsimg.nbh" in your memory card before you do this or else it may not work.
Now you're done restoring everything to original. If you just want the stock OS, but wanna keep the hard spl for later modification to rom then you can skip Step 3. But unless you do Step 3, you will not be able to use the SE update service and any remaining warranty you have is still void.
NOTE: Make sure you restore stock OS and stock radio(not FM radio) before stock SPL, that is do Step2 before Step3.
Summary of things you need:
1) PPCPIMBackup tool to backup all your data.
2) Stock ROM(OS) for your mobile, additionaly the stock radio.
3) Hardspl utility and the stock spl file - you can skip this if not needed.
stock radio is included with stock roms!

Glad it helped you. When I first came to this forum, I was confused too. Then I figured it out. Well.. I think the radio here refers to the transmitter. Radios might differ based on country as different countries have different bands on which the mobile operators work. I think the radio referred here is just the driver file which makes the transmitter in the phone work.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I searched but never found any topic that explains what an xperia radio is. I'm assuming what I thought is correct.

To further clarify, it's the PHONE transmitter, the one that lets you call and send messages and go on the internet. It is not an FM transmitter or receiver.
Is there any difference if you have a X1i or X1a when flashing any of the original ROMs in the sticky topics here?

Hi all,
Excuse me if apparentely it's can seems I repeat old and answred question, but sincerely I have not yet sufficentely clear ideas on how I can flash my blackstone with an updated Rom.
I want remark that I have a decent knowledge on developing a program for W.M., but I confess that after read various threads and articles about, I remained in a great confusion yet!
The question:
I have a branded (Tim) Blackstone:
BLAC100 32M
SPL-1.13.0000
MicroP-BlackStone (Led) v6
Device Info:
ROM Version 1.13.401.0 (20428)ITA
ROM Date 10/25/08
Radio Version 1.09.25.14
Protocol Version: 52.49a.25.26W
This device ABSOLUTELY need to be upgraded to the Rom 1.56 (but first of all I WANT TO UNBRAND it).
After an initial problem (caused by the unricognized S/N), I dowloaded (using another S/N) from Htc the File:
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_ITA_1.56.408.0_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship.exe
To upgrade my device, I want to preserve only the country and the language, because I read that it is necessary to preserve the A-Gps funtionalities (data changes country by coutry). Is it thrue?
I understood that I can't use it, cause the Tim brand of my device.
In my case only the brand is not matching, while the language and country are apparentely matching.
(But, why the "401" of my device is not matching with the "408" of file I downloaded? Can I use the file with this unmatching country code?)
1) - I have a great confusion on SPL, HSPL, SSPL, USPL.
2) - I have a great confusion because I not understood if Radio Rom upgrade and Rom upgrade are 2 different processes or not.
3) - Is the Rom version related (developed) for a specific Hardware version (as it is logical to think)?
4) - Is the Radio rom "country sensitive"? (As I think that each country have a different GSM Net).
5) - If want upgrade both radio and rom, what instrument exactely I need?
Please can you clear my ideas.... and doubts?
Thanks
Ignazio
Ok, you have managed to get an official HTC rom, you can also find some more here
If you use HSPL or USPL, this will allow you to flash the new rom. If you are intending on staying on the official rom, uspl will probably be the best option for you to use.
In response to your questions:
1) SPL - Second Program Loader is a boot loader after IPL (Initial Program Loader) often seen on smart phones and PDA's. SPL is similar to a BIOS in a computer and can be flashed and updated.
The difference between USPL and HSPL:
* HSPL is an user-modified SPL that you have to flash to your phone. It overwrites the existing SPL on your device with a "hacked" one so to say. It allows you to bypass the HTC certificate check and flash unsigned or CID-mismatching roms to your phone. You only have to flash it once and then you can flash roms anytime.
* USPL is a temporary solution. It takes advantage of an exploit in the existing SPL and then loads a modified one to memory, effectively allowing the same thing as HSPL. However, since this is only memory-resident you have to do it each time you want to flash unsigned or CID-mismatching roms to your phone, because this exploited state is lost upon reboot. With USPL you must still have the right version of the HTC SPL that is compatible with the rom you want to use.
* SSPL is just another method of getting to change the spl and is only really needed if you experience problems using one of the other methods.
Hopefully this makes it a little clearer for you.
2) It depends. The radio is in most cases included in the rom. The rom you are looking to use included a radio. This is shown by the 1.13.25.24 in the name of your rom, so if you install that rom it will also update the radio in a single process. You can however also only upgrade the radio and then it is done as a separate process and will not affect the rom.
3) All the roms are initially developed for a particular hardware configuration I would imagine, but there are many fantastic chefs here on xda who take roms meant for other devices and are able to port some of the components to a cooked rom which can then be used on a number of different devices.
4) Yes, radios are country and area sensitive, so what works well for one person in a particular area would possibly not work as well for you.
5) You will need to use either hspl or uspl in order to upgrade your radio (if you are using one intended for an HTC). Some people have taken radios from other devices such as the Omnia, but in order to flash these radios you need to do a security unlock of your device and there are special tools that allow you to do this, but this is really only a last resort if you can't find an HTC radio that works for you.
The steps to follow in order to flash are described in the Dummies Guide to Flashing (see link in my signature) and if you have any further questions, please ask them in that thread.

Read the Dummies Guide (link in my signature). If you have any more queries please post them in that thread as this one is likely to be closed down soon.
ROMS are a personal thing, so have a look at a few and read some of the more popular threads (ie the ones that keep popping to the top) and depending on the feedback received from users make a choice. Once you've flashed once it becomes addictive and you'll try a few before you find one that suits you.
another thing
after i follow all the steps from there all roms should work..after that finnishing them i start that rom update launcher that comes with every rom?
Continuing on Dummies Guide thread.......
As above, continue on dummies guide

Hi all i am new to this got my first HTC Touch HD today
looking at the roms theres a few i like just got a few questions.
what is the best to use HSPL or USPL?
will flashing a new rom mess up my sim lock?
When it says donate whast the normal to donate? dont want to give to little
thanks about it
Thanks
Jonathan Hemmings
HSPL sits in ur rom permanently whereas USPL opens the loop once. That means flashing each time u need to use USPL
U need to read this guide fully to understand and make ur choice
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
People donate as low as US$ 5 whereas donating US$ 10 is a good amount to start with. Flash different rom's and make ur choice which author u like more. Then u can donate a higher amount if u like that author's creation. I am a big fan of Energy's pheonix rom.
Regarding SIM lock. Flashing rom doesnt mess with ur SIM lock or unlock feature and if ur sim is locked u can open it with olipro's tool. Try searching it in the forum.
It all depends on u what flashing method u choose, how much u donate and which rom meets ur needs....
Welcome to XDA and have a great time here.
BEWARE: Flashing ur phones makes ur phone look much cooler and sexier and u will madly fall in love with ur Touch HD once u find ur perfect rom
HAVE A GREAT STAY....
Thanks for the info mate
one thing i cant get my head round is the USPL and HSPL it say that HSPL is permanent but then it says once you have done it you can flash as ment times as you like ?? i am a little confused.
with the USPL if the battery dies or you take your battery out will it lose the rom?
Thanks

also is there a way of making a copy of the rom that is on my phone now just incase i did not get on with any of them and i wanted to go back to this one?
thanks again

HSPL is one written to the handset. USPL isn't written to the handset, the files are sent to the handset when used and it loads another SPL on top of the existing one which is lost when the handset is rebooted (i.e. when the ROM has been installed).
I personally use USPL so I can keep the stock SPL as installed by HTC. Some prefer the HSPL as they don't have to use USPL everytime they want to flash.
I'd probably start with USPL and if you find you flash more often, change to HSPL. Apparently though, HSPL provides more protection against a bad flash - unsure what it does though as I've never used it
It doesn't matter what SPL you use though, once a ROM is flashed to the phone, it stays there until you flash another.

I'm unsure of any way to backup an existing ROM. I'd take a look on HTC's website as they may have an updated stock ROM available for download. I keep that one as my stock ROM to revert to after a couple of custom ROM flashes.

Factory SPL is preventing you to flash any ROM made for another region or another language. Sometimes there are specific ROMs, made by HTC for certain providers, and SPL takes care to allow you only to flash an official upgrade for the same provider or the same region.
If you wish to flash a cooked ROM, you need to circumvent this protection in the SPL.
USPL makes a loophole in your existing SPL and it will allow flashing (now I see jonifen has explained it better). However, that loophole will disappear after the hard reset. Whenever you decide to flash another ROM, yo'll have to repeat USPL. The advantage is that you keep your official SPL.
HSPL is completely replacing your SPL with a new one, and the new one is slightly changed by OliNex: it always let you flash any ROM you want.
Hard reset will not affect it, as hard resets do not replace or wipe the ROM, SPL or the radio, they only wipe all your data and all 3rd party applications installed by you.
Thanks for all the info i am now flashing i have gone for HSPL as my phone is out of warranty + its lots easier + more stable from what i have read on here.
Thanks again for all your help

Hello guys,
I am having serious issues with my HD, and the best solution is to send it back to be repaird, or trow it away...
F.Y.I. the problem is screen going black, or without backlight, or not starting quick, and continuing black.. or the infamous "MICROP FIRMWARE MISMATCH"
To make it a bit worse, I bought it second hand, and I have to prey that the phone is not 2 years old... (guess to be seing in the sticker info on stock number, or part number...).
So... I had a lot of fun in this forum, installing HSPL, and diferent roms.., and guess.., I have to put everything back to original to try to get it fixed.
First, I will show what the info on the Phone is..
R 1.13.25.24
G 52.62.25.34U
D 1.56.47501
BLACK100 32M
SPL-1.56 OLINEX
My questions (and I guess lots of people's question too) are:
1) How to downgrade my SPL to an "official" one
2) Which one could that be (number)
3) Which official rom to use (number), to make it matching SPL.. MUST BE AN WM 6.1
4) Is my radio version "stock"?
5) can I flash Stock rom, and then AFTER stock SPL? to avoid to have to use USPL to flash stock rom after..
6) Does the Stock rom comes with its own radio?
Requests
1)Dummie capable help
2)Where to find stock SPL'S for this phone.
3)Some link to tutorials HOW TO...flash stock SPL
4)Link to downloads to WM 6.1 stock rom (HTC Support doesn,t have them, only upgrades). Dutch should be the languaje, but if not, WWE should do...
5) Where to get some luck...
I know its a lot what I am asking, but, after hours of looking arround, and lots of tabs on my explorer, I am just confused..., and believe that many people are in the same situation.
I have ony seeing upgrade guides, but not yet an downgrade guide sticking nowhere, and ways of dealing with manufacturer due hardware problems, and I mean, the way to set your phone back to standar, or the proper way to back up everything before we make it "really user friendly", which, acording to manufacturer, is ILEGAL,
Everybody's reply's will be trully apreciated
Well, I found the "STOCK" rom on the HTC site.
It has already the radio included.
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_NLD_1.56.404.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship
For everybody's info, the only way to download it, is by filling the Serial number of the phone (behind the battery) in the HTC Website(support).
It was an unlocked phone, so, I choosed EU version, and after filling the serial number, gave me automatic.. Dutch languaje (good enough to send it to Service).
So, I guess that if you want to change the lenguaje of your phone on an official rom, and is not possible with your phone serial, you will just have to request it.
I just flashed it with SPL 1.56 OLINEX, and he just won't start..., just have to let him rest couple of hours, or try to start it tomorrow (vibrates after 1 minute, and wont start), so, If everything goes ok, .. stock SPL, and "send it back"

First you have to sure what was your original SPL version, and Radio version.
Good luck.
I flashed thesame rom when I had to send my phone back to claim warranty. I use spl 1.14. My phone was repaired for free so I think I did it right ^^
edit: just follow the guide philrom posted anf you'll be fine . The stock rom you flashed already includes a (stock) radio, so after flashing spl 1.14 our phone is good to go
1.14... and will be ok for warranty.... so, 1.14 will be
Apreciate the info, let's hope that service will do their job, so I can go back to WM 6.5!! , and off course custom roms..
Again, tks. I will let you know how everithing turned out.
