Is there a way to overclock my HTC Fuze?
Just wondering, thanks in advance.
Greatly appreciated.

Haha I don't mind the battery.
I want to overclock for more speed so it doesn't lag when I used Touch Flo HD

check out what no2chem did. some searching will get ya the info, or you could do www.nuerom.com
I tried to install ClockControl and my phone wouldn't pass boot anymore.
Neurom doens't work. Any other options?
I remember reading it somewhere in XDA, related to no2chem i think..
Never tried it though
nueOverClockTest v1.3 can be found here
I have noticed a bit higher speed, but it freezes my phone after a bit... sometimes. Check it out, and thanks again to no2chem

Woah! you really are running 312 MHz??? You may not be doing a whole lot more with your phone soon...
Sounds to me like you are hooked (see the bottom of my sig for a thread you may need to join ). Really depends on what you mean by what else you can do. You can always try other roms so you can see whats different about them. Then if you really get the bug, start learning how to cook.
But I'd seriously be careful with that massive overclocking you are doing... I've pushed mine to 273Mhz and it works, but I'm not comfortable (and don't see that much gain) so I back off to 260.
Good luck...

good work
is in the t bad to overcook?...or massively overcook?
When you overclock you run the risk of overheating nd putting strain on your processor by doing that. And because its an un natural load being put on it, it could be damaged permanently to such an extent it wont work anymore.

If your processor gave up then theres nothing more you can do to your phone..
(And I'm not interested in overclocking, just downclock.)
No it doesn't...there is no over/underclock that works for the TP/Fuze processors.
Ok, thanks motionmind.
Overclock possible...
Hi,
I use Omapscaler.exe to overclock to 300.. default was 200.
I see no problem right now.. and I think it does help a little.
Not sure what it does to the battery and I haven't don't any testing.
But, it's not doing anything bad to the my htc fuze.
I've been doing this for RRE Rom for several days now.
Let me know if anyone has any other points on this.
Thanks.

Is the default 200? Maybe you underclocked it... I thought it was like 528 or something...who knows....
Maybe he has a different phone? To my knowledge, no Qualcomm chipsets can be over or underclocked.
Anyone managed to find this software and give it a go?
The Touch Pro has finally been overclocked.......
Anyone care to try this on their X1?
http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/post/2009/09/06/Touch-Pro-running-at-800MHZ.aspx
does not work, forces the device to auto restart.
However, the creator is working hard to get one that works
Even if a X1 version is released, the only thing you might achieve is to fry your cpu and destroy the device years earlier than its expected lifetime.
How about Temp and Battery life, is it worthed ?
ok this OC tool worked for me today i had x1 at 768mhz and it was fast but then i started an program and the phone froze so.. there is still alot of work on that app..
the phone froze or restated...

Hi all.
I tried to install the neucontrol software but when I run the cab my xperia says that the program was uninstallable.
I was using a custom rom, the energy rom, standard version. I haven't tried installing it with a different rom.

As the same arguement for Pc overclocking, the lifespan of a cpu is many years beyond what you are likely to use it. I.e the phone could last for less than 5years for all I care, 2years in fact as Ill upgrade to xperia 2 so I might has well "fry" it and gain a faster smooth and more enjoyable experience in return for a shorter lifespan.

I prefer to keep my tech working even after I stop using it. After all, you never know when you might need a backup device. Different points of view about this, I guess.
I agree with orelsi..I'd like my device to be in good condition even though I won't be using it anymore...you never know, you might come up short on dough with your plans of buying the x2 or x3 and selling ur x1 might give some additional cash for u to finally buy that device...of course if it's fried, no one will buy it or u'll only be able to sell it dirt cheap, for parts or whatever

Indeed, this is very true
on my x1 freze quickly
somebody thought about downclocking the cpu? maybee some MHZ less could double the akku duration??!! =)
this would be mutch more interesting fo me instead overclocking this littel cpu xD
greetz
You would make the phone useless, for anything else than calling. I would prefer multitasking and good performance over battery any day.
waw it worked for me...
i install the tool and my phone way connected to pc with activesync and it ran at 800 mhz ,i was like (damn thats how the phone should run, smooth scroling in main menu ,benchmarked with sktools and got waw results ).
BUT when i took usb out of pc my x1 froze and i had to softreset.
and i couldnt run it again in my x1(now when i run it,it freeze or restart)
what a shame ,i hope the tool get stable so i can run x1 at 800.

Alright, I'm rooted. Now, I want to have the WiFi tethering and I'd like to overclock. Can I do both? Is there a kernel that does both, or do I run em one at a time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends, setiroN puts out a very nice kernel. I use his in my ROMs. On a side note, I would move this to the Q&A before the army shows up!
Edit: you need a custom ROM to gain access to the tethering function.

If you haven't done it yet, flash Perception or Cognition, they both have wifi and usb tethering on. I haven't played with the others, but if you do some reading you find out about the others.

Yeah, I saw more technical stuff over here so I posted. My bad. I think I want to stay away from ROMs. Idk though. I've heard they're cool, but always break something. I just came from iPhone and I was up to speed. Now I'm such a lost n00b! My goal WAS to overclock and enable tethering and stay with the stock ROM. Are there any ROMs that don't break ANYTHING? Thanks dude.

You can always go back to stock, but you never will once you play with some lagfixed kernels and custom roms. I thought this thing blew the iCrap out of the water stock, and its amazing now. Overclocking sounds cool, but unless you are a gamer and actually need the extra clock speed, i'm not sure its worth the effort. I have had ridiculous battery life just using 1GHz and Voodoo lagfix. I would def recommend you try P9.5 (perception) as I have no problems with anything and the best GPS ever.

No disrespect meant to the other ROM devs. I am a DG fanboy and found what I was comfortable with and haven't looked around at all, but I know there are a lot of people out there that like roms made by other devs, and I'm sure they are just as good.
the Perception 9.5 in my signature is the link to the perception thread. The sticky at the top of the thread has all of the guides for beginning to flash roms.
check this out as well, haven't watched it but it should give you an idea of whats going on:

Alright. Finally got back home and got it flashed. Seems fine. Battery life seems a little shorter. I only have about an hour with it. A few questions, what is Blinky? And what is BLN?
bln is back light notification. it can sometimes be turned off in recovery if the kernel has a modded recovery. basically if you get a text email or other alert the phone will put on the soft key back lights. i dont care for it because im never looking at my phone at it is never in a visable location for the lights to catch my attention. basically if i can see the lights im probably about to unlock my phone anyway in which case i can see the notification in the status bar.
blinky is an app that has something to do with bln but it didnt work when i tried to use it.
give the battery a couple days to calibrate. the batstats file can get all screwy making you think you have battery drain. if you charge the phone while it is off and then start the phone the two battery meters should be close to each other. if they are not then the batstats are likely off. you can clear them in clockworkmod recovery. over the coarse of a few days you may see the battery life appear to get longer.
i believe the accepted procedure for calibrating is charge to full. clear batstats. charge to full +1-2hrs. turn off phone and charge to full again +1hr, turn on phone and charge to full.
but i tend to just clear bat stats once and use the phone. im not gonna dis anyones method but i see no point in the calibration thing.

I doubt you will find such a kernel, but even if you can find it, do you really expect a working phone with these frequencies?

My phone 528MHZ I saw a video on youtube and there had 820MHZ
nice.. is the video titled: "how to fry your phone without a pan?"
you can't even run your phone at 710, let alone 820 mhz without it being buggy or crashing.. Check out dumfuq's kernels if you want and one of his older versions allow up to 820mhz overclock.
556-614 are fine but 820 is an overkill, u'll fry the phone and it mightdie faster, what's the reason u want to oc to that level?
