yea i tried to fastboot but i cant get my computer to read my phone it doesn't come up on adb or fastboot i did the <enter>setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1<enter> on the g1 screen but that didn't help either
So i found a couple threads that has helped me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=574098&highlight=fastboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512319
The only problem now is my computer doesn't read my G1. I have the danger spl (1.33.2005) i think
The reason I can't get past the g1 screen is because i forgot to include the rom onto the sdcard before i flashed the radio and spl.
I hope this is enough information for someone to help me
Try a differant driver. The one in sdk1.6 gave me trouble when using fastboot w/ 1.33.2005 spl. Try the one from here it should work.
Once you get that working, just flash a new recovery image. Don't forget to press back to switch to "usb" instead of "serial".

Long story short, I've received this ADP1 from a friend, this ADP1 will only boot into a SPL mode when you turn it on.
But at the time, it still has the ability to boot into a fastboot mode, so I mount the RA1.5.2 recovery img to see if it will take CY rom, it successful booted into the recovery mode, and flash the new radio, 1.6 rom along with the CY rom no problem, but when reboots, still goes into the SPL mode.
So here comes the stupidest move...
I've accidentally flash the NBH file(RC29), and was hoping to have a fully restore the phone, but it didn't, and made it worst, now, it still goes to the SPL mode when you turn it on, and now, I lost the ability to access the fastboot mode, and recovery mode only shows the icon, nothing else.
I would like anyone's advise, anything I can try?
Appreciate your help!
Hmm that's a very odd situation. Without being able to boot the phone after flashing RC29 you have no way to gain root again. Sorry to say it but I think you have a semi-unrecoverable-brick :-/
I was trying to get the dream on my phone and I think I just ruined my phone? when I turn it on it just goes straight to the system recovery page and it wont turn on, i also can get the boot loader page to come up but that is it!! is there anything I can do to reset my phone and get it working????????????

install a custom rom and it should boot up
What recovery do you have installed?
If you can get into the bootloader then there is always an easy way out to fixing the phone. Starting from square one with the Root process found in many root guides. Use the "Search" link.
I have drea100 put 32b
radio 2.22.19.261
Dear android experts,
I had CM 5.0.7 installed on my HTC Dream, and I stupidly installed ROM Manager, wanting to upgrate to CM 5.0.8, and used the application to do a backup - after I clicked the 'backup' function, the phone rebooted, and is now stuck on the startup logo (and has been stuck for the last hour). I have already tried pulling out the battery and booting the phone into recovery mode, however it cannot access recovery mode, and still hangs at the startup logo. Is there any way to get past this startup logo, or is there no hope for my phone? Is there any way to push the phone into recovery mode via adb? I am a complete amateur, who follows step-by-step instructions - please help me!
P.S. If this tells you anything, while my phone is stuck at the startup T-mobile logo, if I plug in the USB cable, a message on a red background appears at the top of the 'G1 T-mobile' logo, saying 'FASTBOOT USB'.
P.P.S. In case this is a detail that could help me, while my phone is in Fastboot Mode, I have four options available:
HBoot Mode
Reset Device
Restart to HBoot
Power Down
Could any of these help me?

This thread is old, and OP is ignorant and wants to blame ROM Manager for his own problems. If you can't get into recovery, chances are you are using one built for another phone. Find the one for the G1.
Or ran into the know issue of cm5.0.7 that fash_image sometimes (more than not) fails.. thus applications using it sometimes fail.
But you have danger spl right? So flash the recovery via fastboot.. and if you don't have fastboot/adb and intended to run these custom roms its about time you installed it.
I am trying to fix a G1 for a friend its stuck at the triangle with the exclamation mark I have tried to the Alt+l And then Alt+s
and then tried to load a rom but nothing I am a noob ,I have an Evo that I have rooted and loaded custom roms so I am not a complete idiot but I am not familiar with the G1 Please someone direct me.
Thanks,
Try to flash an (official) ROM via Bootloader (hold cam button while powering on).
If you have some kind of engineering spl (often present on a rooted phone), you can flash a new recovery via fastboot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719) and then flash a rom from the new recovery.
If that doesn't work you will have to flash a stock image.
If there is a valid dreamimg.nbh (get one for the right brand like tmobile, rogers...) on the sdcard you will be able to flash it from the bootloader. You will loose root though, if you alread had it.
Tried that and it didnt work even tried to install that dreamimg.nbh file still no luck
G1 when power on comes only G1 screen, when soft reset and hard reset is the same . when update it says on screen: "E: Cant open / cache/recovery/ command" and aborting upgrade in 50%
Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on with this?
well im assuming the phone has been properly set as far as radio/spl -- i would say you need to reflash your recovery. Erase your current recovery with fastboot and then fastboot the brand new recovery into it and try again. If the phone cant boot into the rom it will try to boot into the recovery and if it cant, it does that. I think. theres a pretty nice G1 wiki here and theres also cyanogenmod wiki... cant go wrong there.
