phone stuck at mt3g boot screen - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was running CM4.2.1 with SystemForce 3. I wanted to install the SystemForce 3 themed HTCMusic player. All I did was go into recovery and apply any zip. as you can see from my logcat things didn't go so well...

Lol you should try asking in the HTC Magic sections since this is the G1 forum. Not trying to be mean or anything but yeah lol

lol
Haha, you're right.... I've just been living over here in the dream section, that I forget we have our own section. Everything I've been using comes from here, I guess that's why I posted here.

I really want to learn how to drive a 6 speed mustang without using a clutch. Any help???
Seriously, if you want a serious answer post your question in the right place. Id think aftert the response to your last dumbass thread you would have learned.
I'll have a triple baconator with fries and a coke.......oh is this the wrong subforum??? hmmm
Gasp!
why would you be running a jf rom? they are completely outdated. at least run cyanogen 3.6.8 or something higher than that. and really. read the first 2 threads on the Q&A part. they are at the top for a reason. and i believe they also say "READ BEFORE POSTING A NEW THREAD" or something similar to that.

in need of a new Hero ROM for G1 that is fast and still being worked on?

The one I use is no longer being updated and my bluetooth not working so I am in need of a good popular HERO ROM for G1.
This is not the right section.
If you have a look through the posts here with the prefix [ROM] title... etc
then you will find something that you like im sure.
You might like the look of this one.

Oh and do a little research first of all, people will probably ask you to post these type of questions in the Dream Q&A section first of all and do a little home work.
indeed.. Q&A friend...
But to answer the question. Jacs hero is still being worked on and its lightning fast.

that sentence does not make any sense.
what is the avarge inital loading time that you get after the t-mobile g1 screen? Mine taking forever and re-applyied the install.
Edit/Delete Message
wow, people really dont understand the concept of a search button or posting in the correct place... MAYBE all the devs and people with dev-esque questions should move to the Q&A forums and post there but keep this labeled development to throw there r-tards off?
Sorry but this is in the wrong section and a horrible question. First of all, EVERY hero rom is still being worked on and second, every rom seems to respond differently to different g1's. It's all about trial and error. Flash one see what you think......and for the love of god SEARCH!!!
1. There is a Q&A thread. Ask your questions there.
2. There are MANY Hero ROMs. All are currently being worked on.
3. Search next time.
This is your first warning.

Themes - knowledge point

Hello,
First post and allready asking stuff.
I'm starting on making themes and although I have read a lot of stuff I can't get it.
Major questions:
- Do I need to have a custom rom to make themes? Can I install a theme on a standard, factory clean android magic?
- What are those RC33, Rc30, etc... And how do I know what do I have?
At the moment I have a stock HTC magic 32A. The only non standard thing in it, is it's rooted.
The build number only says: CL#33743 (no RC stuff...).
Any help would be appreciate.
take a look at this thread...

Hey smurf... thnks for the answer.
I've allready readed that post (and most of the links in it), and still got the same questions.
They only talk about G1/dream and all those RCXX... The problem my magic says CL#33743. Am I missing something here? Do I need to install a RCXX image?

afaik you have to be rooted to install themes, an exception is when you are using a home replacement.
RC stands for Release Candidate and its just a version numbering thing i guess...
Hello again...
Yeah, I tried instead of just asking.
After a few more reading I realise I was making some confusion. I have a rooted phone so I just adb pull the files I needed to theme (framework-res, htclauncher, etc...) changed the drwable files and adb push them again
It's kinda of what a update.zip does but with more files. Nothing better that trying
Now I just don't know why some people ressign apk's, but I guess a little more reading will fix that too.
Thnaks for your help smurf.

i am getting seriously confused with rom flashing

i got a nexus one today i got the rooting and recovery flashing but when it came down to flashing my first custom rom i am getting confused i see roms and kernels and radios and dont know what to flash first or if i should be flashing certain files at all ...some one please give me a quick guide or point me to a link that i didnt see already
Seriously, if it confuses you, then you shouldn't be doing it.
There's PLENTY of easy to follow how-to's in this forum. Read them. ALL of them.
Just add the ROM zip to your sd card, boot into recovery, wipe, flash ROM. CELEBRATE!
Flash a ROM first. Then everything else is an 'addon' to the ROM. You pick and choose (if compatible with the ROM you will be using) the addons. But overall, all you need to do is choose a ROM, first.
I thought only people who knew anything about 'android' had an interest in the phone. Lame ass people cluttering this forum!!!! POST IN THE RIGHT AREA!!!!!

Now on my HTC I'm a little lost I've been reading through he forums for a couple days now and visited the HTC Dev site to Unlock Bootloader still can't figure it out a bit confused. If some would be nice enough to explain to a n00b with a Android I would appreciate it!
