TP2 Bluetooth drivers for the TP (Raphael)? - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

The Touch Pro (Raphael) has had bluetooth problems for a long time when connecting with certain vehicles (in my case an Altima with the nav system) - history of the problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=346970
It sounds like (from the last page above, as well as other threads around the web) the Touch Pro 2 comes with bluetooth drivers that fix the issue. I see that HTC also issued an update for the CDMA Touch Pro's which may have solved the problem, but unfortunately I've got the Fuze (GSM).
Does anyone know if it's possible to load the TP2 drivers onto the Fuze, or if anyone has created a package for that?

I have a similar problem but it is with using RSAP (sim access profile) in Audi vehicles. I know someone who has upgraded to a TP2 and the problem is fixed so i would like to know if this is possible.
Is the bluetooth stack part of the rom or something embedded in the device?

Bluetooth connection causes reboot

My previous phone HTC TyTN (Hermes) worked perfectly well with my car OEM Bluetooth HF (BMW X3 '05) using varios ROMs and Radios, starting from the original VM5 to many cooked VM6 editions which I tried.
Now I purchased a brand new HTC TyTN II (Kaiser), which seems to have serious problems with the car Bluetooth. It pairs ok, but immediately when the actual bluetooth communication starts, the phone always reboots itself.
I have made a log of the communication using JETware Hands-free Extension. In the attached log you can find a row with strange character causing immediate reboot to the phone. The problem is not caused by Jetware, because the phone behaves exactly the same without Jetware.
From another forum I have found out that this seems to be a common problem also with another phone model which is T-Mobile Dash (HTC S620).

Any ideas how to sort this out? Which component on Kaiser should I start flashing upgrade/downgrade?

Kaiser ROM 1.56.414.2 Radio 1.27.14.04 Protocol 22.45.88.07H
Update to my situation, tried so far:
- Flashed Sleuth's V3.0 with Radio 1.64.08.21. The problems persists, phone pairs ok with BMW HF, but reboots itself immediately when actually connected.
- Tried to install Widcomm Bluetooth Stack which is duscussed in this thread, but could not get it really work in my Kaiser. After solving low memory issue by changing bitrate to 115200 it started, but it was not able to find any bluetooth devices at all.
I just wonder if this could be a hardware issue not solveable by any software updates? What could be fundamentaly so different between Hermes and Kaiser bluetooth implementations, that one works fluently and the other keeps rebooting itself even with different roms and radios (WM6.0 and WM6.1)?
What might be going so badly wrong in a bluetooth conversation that Kaiser decides to reboot? The AT-commands conversations starts just fine, but ends to a long string with odd characters. (please see the attached log file in my previous post).
Anyone, any ideas, please? I have done so much searching on this subject lately that I probably can no longer see any trees in the wood.

Now I upgraded my car computer software to the newest version as adviced in the x5world site here, the problem persists.

BMW and 6.1 bluetooth

I have a 2007 non I drive 3 series. Bluetooth connection worked great until I moved to windows mobile 6.1. now i can not get the phone to stay connected. I have the standard ATT rom, and have tried using Kaiser tweak as well, to no avail. Anyone else having the same issue? Any ideas?
Worked for me with no problems (although the sound quality was poor).
I've now got a 3-series with iDrive and it similarly syncs easily, and the sound quality seems improved.
I do have a question though - I have installed BT Audio to attempt to play music via the car speakers, but I cannot find any option within the Car stereo options to accept input via Bluetooth (other than for phone calls). So I'm back to using a wire...
Any ideas?
Cheers,
BMW and bluetooth
there is no way to play music through the bluetooth portion of the system. Gotta use that wire!
2005 BMW X5 and Bluetooth WM6.1
My AT&T Tilt bluetooth worked great with WM6, but the standard AT&T ROM upgrade to 6.1 causes the phone to continuously reset as soon as it syncs with the car. I suspect it's being caused by loading the phone book; loading phonebook briefly flashes on the dash display before the phone resets.
Has anyone else investigated this problem - I've read a number of similar problem posts on various forums (AT&T, HTC) but no solutions.
How do I turn off the phone book sync feature in the registry? I couldn't find a profile specific to that?

Can the Tilt/Kaiser Bluetooth Stack be replaced?

I've been having some issues with my Tilt and my car's hands free setup (see: http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&message.id=105410). The problems seems to lie with the Microsoft bluetooth stack on WM 6.1. HTC is no help with this issue so I want to take matters into my own hands. Is there a way to replace the default Microsoft bluetooth stack with another, more reliable compatible stack from a reliable company (not Microsoft or HTC)? I don't want to get rid of my Tilt, but I need it to work right in my car. I'm thinking of staying away from purchasing WM 6.1 smartphones because of this.
frustrated...
Wow, no one has answered my post here, at ATT, at Kenwood, or on tiltsite. HTC answered only to tell me that compatibility doesn't necessarily mean that it would work (bs). This is very frustrating. I've read post all over xda developers and the rest of the internet about tilt bluetooth problems yet no one has an answer. I've completely giving up on trying to get bluetooth to work right with any of my devices (car, computer, etc). I can't imagine buying another HTC product. Good luck to everyone else out there struggling to get bluetooth to work on their tilt while the motorola, blackberry, lg, samsung, and other phone users watch with amazement and pity. Keep fighting the good fight. Hopefully one of you will win. I've completely lost!
That's a pretty strange story you've got there, because I have zero problems with my Tilt and bluetooth pairing to all manners of devices... on a regular basis, I connect my Tilt to my car's Pioneer stereo deck, to my laptop and desktop, and to my wireless headphones and I've had little to no difficulty. Actually, the easiest pairings so far have been between my Tilt and Pioneer Stereo Deck... At least for basic features - in order for the phone book entries to show on the deck's LCD display it required an upgrade from WinMo 6.0 to 6.1 and then in the deck itself I have to manually download the contact book. But that's the only troublesome thing I have to do, which is mostly an advanced feature any way that I could live (but prefer not to) without.
Sucks that you're having problems, all I can suggest is make sure you're doing everything properly... I've had no problems I couldn't overcome with my Tilt and bluetooth capable devices, especially since Windows Mobile 6.1 came out.
Hi,
I'm having the same problems, also when disconnecting from the BT carstereo after a phonecall, the device freezes up.
Anybody found a solution for this problem yet ?
Ny the way, my car stereo is a JVC KD-BT1
GRTZ,
Niels
@k4ever: Have you checked out this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285419
From what I can tell, they've ported the Widcomm BT stack to the Hermes and TyTN, so I imagine it's not far off from the Kaiser/TyTN-II, if it doesn't already work (my BT is working fine, so I'm not too likely to mes with my phone to find out-- but I hope this helps!)

EDIT: Here's a CAB from the newer threads of the above post:

Thanks
Wow, thanks for the replies.
@ceosion
I got it working with a Pioneer deck in Best Buy. I was actually debating buying one, but I paid $500 for my Kenwood setup. All of my other phones work with it, to include other WM phone (not from HTC). I contacted Kenwood, but I have not recieved a reply.
@Weasel5i2
I tried the Widcomm stack when I used the stock ATT rom. It completely disabled bluetooth on the Tilt. I will try it with the PDA Corner rom I'm currently using (the best!) after the holiday weekend.
Thanks again for the replies!

I am experiencing Bluetooth connection issues between the Tytn2 and a kenwood DNX8220BT As far as I've heard from kenwood the Tytn2 is only supported with the older version of Windows Mobile (6.0)
I've also tried the Kenwood with my wife's Touch Diamond (Also HTC but other CPU, don't know about the BT radio though) but that one is also experiencing trouble. I didn't get any indication when they would have a new firmware version ready.
You did indicate that you also tried another WM phone, which version of WM does that one operate on?
@Mautje
The other WM phone was a Samsung Blackjack II running WM 5. I downgraded my Tilt to the default WM 6 Rom from ATT, but I had the same problems. I'm running the PDA Corner WM 6.1 Rom now. Does matter which ROM I use, I get the same results on the Tilt.
widcomm stack a no-go
I tried the Widcomm stack. It did not work at all. Kept getting error that "there was not enough memory to run, please reset device" or something to that nature. Could not uninstall so I had to re-flash my ROM. Back to square one.

To bad. I was also looking into the other roms on this forum but it wil probably not work..
Kenwood is reporting that it should work with the rom version mentioned in the compatibility sheet.
In the sheet for version 1.43 firmware there is no mention at all of a rom version just the Tytn2.. I guess that's the WM 6.0 version

BT connection to BMW 1 hands free aborts

hi,
I am driving a BMW series 1. I have an integrated hands free system in the car. I can connect the Touch Diamond with it. Even all the contacts can be shown and dialed with the multi functional buttons on the steering wheel and the radio. Here comes the issue:
During a call the BT connection aborts. Sometimes after 5 seconds, sometimes after 5 minutes. When TomTom Navigator is running it hardly ever worked. So my guess is, it is a performance issue and if TomTom is not running then it only aborts because the battery gets below 60% and perhaps some kind of powersave mode would be activated? I am using a cooked Rom based on the latest original HTC Rom. With the original ROM it was even worse. I hope a cooked ROM would solve the issue. Unfortunately not.
The technical support from HTC told me to ask my car manufacturer. They told me of course the opposite. After I told the HTC guy that it works fine sometimes and I guess it is because of the battery, he just told me to keep it loaded all the time. Quiet funny, but if the performance is the reason then it will never work with TomTom used at the same time.
So, does anyone has any good idea what I could do? Are there any patches available?
I would be really happy for any answer. thanks
Sascha

I had an issue with connecting my diamond to my X5. I fixed it by changing the bluetooth handsfree gateway dll from HTC custom dll to the Microsoft voicecommand dll. Not sure if it will address your issue, but it is worth a shot.
I posted it on ppcgeeks.com. (Sorry i dont have the link handy at the moment)
thanks a lot. i will try and post the results.

Cooking MS Bluetooth stack into rhodium...?

Not sure if anyone out there is aware, but a lot of people (myself included) have been having some problems with the Widcomm bluetooth stack that is being used in the Rhodium (touch pro 2, tilt 2) and i possibly the Topaz (Touch Diamond 2/htc pure). Does anyone know if it would be possible to take a the MS bluetooth stack that has been used in other phones in the past, such as the touch pro from last year, and cook it into the newer touch pro 2 ROMs?
Bump. I'm interested in this question as well.
i am interested 2 because older htc bluetooth stacks are working for me
Count me in. I would also like to see this cooked or even some solution for those of us who want to change to older one.
I don't think that drivers are available. I'm not sure, but I don't beleive any Rhodium ROM (even the early dev builds) had M$ stacks.

Hey Sleuth!!!! Good to see ya, been awhile!!!
You may bve able to use the different stack. There are other BT stacks that were installable via cab for devices past. However, as Sleuth pointed out, unless you have access to device specific drivers it will take a bit more work than just cooking in an available package from a previous device package.
Give it a try. If you know about disassembly, try to compare the stacks. Just remember that there are not just the BT drivers you need to worry about, but also all of the shared resources that the driver uses or is used as for some audio functions, in example.
Just a note, but plenty of people had problems when they switched to the Microsoft stack in the titan, TP, etc. The fact that they switched back to the Widcomm stack was a blessing for A LOT of people who weren't able to use their last gen devices with many Nissan and Infiniti vehicles with both bluetooth and navigation. It just didn't work for us before the TP2 came out, unless you kept your old HTC Apache for this long.

yeah, I was almost ready to jump ship to android or even iPhone but then the Rhodium appeared. This is a bonafide cool gizmo the likes of which I have not seen since my Palm TT3.
MS BT Drivers
I would also love to have the MS BT drivers in the Rhodium. with Widcomm the voice dialling does not work properly, the phone does not connect to my Win 7 laptop. All this worked just fine with my TyTn II.
Yep, would be nice...
Driving a Volvo with BT, and up to now, I could pair it with my O2 Atom Life, HTC TP and a lot of other phones & PDA's.
Since i have the TH2 though, i can't get the sound working while trying to do a hands free call.
Recently I found a workaround by disabling the Data Connection in Comm. Manager, but this still stays a cumbersome solution.
I would appreciate the old MS BT stack of the TP on my TP2 as well
Iam not sure... about this but what i know is the devices which use generic bluetooth stack (microsoft) has bthuart.dll in oem drivers and bluetooth packeges in sys atleast thats what i have in my device..
