I have read every forum on earth dedicated to the hero rom for g1. None have seemed to solve my issue. I have a class 2 8 gig sd card and I have 3 partions. I have wiped repaired flashed so many times I can do it with my eyes closed (literaly). I get to the androids waving then the htc logo...then black screen then again and again and again...forever. I now need help google is my friend but not a very good one....I can flash any other rom except for the blood clot hero rom. So if there is anyone out there who can fix this then by all means respond...
have you done a normal wipe (not ext partition wipe device wipe)?
have you got haykuro(death) spl?
have you got correct radio?

First, you could try putting a strand of anal beads in the phone and hit it with a hammer. Then take out the memory stick and pour some Booty Sweat into the circuit board to lubricate it. After that, put the memory stick back into the phone and turn it on. I think that will work.

You have something left over that isnt getting wiped, its either the ext partition, your dalvik cache, or your SPL/radio arent the correct one. Reformat your entire SD card from scratch and I will bet it solves your problem.
wipe/fdr
wipe ext partition
repartition(at least 96 mb for the linux_swap)
upgrade partition(upgrade_fs)
after the upgrading the partition pull battery
load rom back onto sd card
put battery back in
boot to recovery
wipe/fdr again(this is the step that is normaly ignored)
flash rom
reboot
ur good to go
wut i noticed is that the amon recovery one click partition only sets 32 mb as linux.swap and u need at least 96 for the mytouch/magic 126 for the g1/dream

What type of card do u have. Kingston, Trancend, etc.... I was having the same problem with a cheap no name (no name on the card itself) microsdhc.... What brand do u have.... Make sure its one of the popular brands above... The cheap ones always sent me into bootloop...

i had the same problem with hero roms and there is a post on one of the forums that solved my issues. i'll look and tell you where to get it if i can find it, but you can start in q and a.

Hello everyone i have this issue my hero keeps freezeing i dont kno whats going on i thought i was my micro sdcard but i changed that today and its still freezeing at random maybe im doing steps wrong or something and i also have the Catlog files before and after the sd card change both are Transcend 4 gig class 6 micro sdhc cards so let me kno if you need anymore info thx in adavance

Which ROM are you on? It could be a ROM specific issue. Do other hero ROMs have the same issue?

Im on Hero-V1.5.5 by Drizzy rite now and i've had the problem on cyanogen's latest also i thought i was my sdcard but i changed it today and partitioned it the same way and i've tryed to switch the swappiness to see if that was the problem
could it be the radio that has corrupt files or the spl thats causeing this? and if so can i reflash them without it messing up my phone

Very odd. I would have thought there's an issues with read/write speeds on the swap partition, but that shouldn't happen on a class 6, and as you have a new card that pretty much rules out bad sectors. I'm assuming you don't have a user.conf and userinit.sh...if you didn't swap would not be active on Cyanogens ROM, so it's not a swap issue. Was it on cyanogens experimental ROM (donut based)?
Could you give a little more information about these freezes? When they occur, how long they last, ect.
The radio and SPL could be reflashed, I would wait for other peoples suggestions first, as there's a risk of bricking every time you flash the radio or SPL.

"I'm assuming you don't have a user.conf and userinit.sh"??? umm it happened on 1.5 and 1.6 builds but it never freeze's cause when i have another 1 gig sd card regular sd no class speeds it never freeze but when i use my cards with more gigs and with swap partitions sometimes it freeze's on start up sometimes when im puting the phone into sleep sometimes when i come out of sleep sometimes when i turn my music off sometimes when im just playing with it to see if it slowed down(if i get that far....) but like i said whats weird is it dont freeze when im not useing swap i guess i dnt kno man

Sup im just curious does anyone understand this and kno how to fix it i cant seem to fix it every rom i use its the same thing i tryed diffrent swap sizes and diffrent swappiness numbers i have no idea whats going on i been dealing with this for a month+ now and i dont wanna go back to stock or unrooting my phone. But i also got a new trasncend 4 gig class 6 micro sdhc and it still happens but its funny cause when i use my 1 Gig Transcend card Micro SD card(no class,partitions but fat32 and no ext2/3 or linux-swap) it doesnt freeze EVER on cyanogen it runs as smooth as a baby's ass never crash's i can listen to music and try to stress it but it NEVER freeze/coma/hang ever so i dont kno if my stuff is wrong up there and i have tryed diffrent swap size's also and my phone freeze's with drizzy hero v1.5.5,cyanogen 4.0.4/4.1.11.1 and this MLIGN v1.1 when i have the partitions and i have also tryed the format Dalvik-cache thing but that doesn't help i tryed the format ext3 thing wipe flash and vise versa i tryed alot of combo's so ill put up the MLIGN v1.1 Catlogs i have and if you need more info just let me kno ill answer any question reguarding this post my phone and my sdcard so yea ask away and btw thx for reading this and thx in advance for the help o yea and also

You have multiple errors, some of which reflashing the ROM won't fix. I suggest rerooting because flashing the RC29 DREAIMG.nbh file will completely clean the entire filesystem.
ok so i have to reroot but are u sure the new radio and SPL wont do nething or the new recovery wont mess anything up? and send me a thread that you think is good to follow and ill get to work on that RITE now and also the .nbh file would i have to flash that in the spl again rite? and are u sure the new spl with this old file wont mess nething up thx : )

you know on second thought just flash the spl and then the DREAIMG.img from step 1 of the guide, wait for tmo to send updates and enjoy your unrooted phone because you obviously don't have what it takes to have a rooted phone.

i was having some odd issues i downgrade to rc 29 hand another issue come up then upgraded from rc 29 to stock cupcake then back to xrom. i tryed everything i could think of it some how worked out also flash back to rc29 with a swap portion that might be the issue.
ok umm i formated my sd card before i did nething wiped and did everything from there and uhh i dont understand what u mean when you say you went from rc29 to stock cupcake to xrom unless xrom doesnt need a rooted phone im guessing i dont kno explain it to me cause i could try that but rite now im running

Ok I am having the same issues. I tried to install HDWall cab on the latest march 9th energyrom with WM6.5.5 and Sense 2.5. It prompted me to restart so I did and ever since I tried rebooting it, its stuck on the bootloader. tried to hard reset a bunch of times and just goes back to bootloader. Took battery out a bunch of times. Tried to flash back to AT&T stock ROM via USB. Flash went to 100% and then when it tries to restart after flash, back to bootloader. Ran mtty1_1_.42_538 on PC and then tried to reflash to energyrom and still stuck on bootloader. The weird thing is when I try to flash via USB it the current Rom image is blank. Oh and also I attached an image of what mtty1_1_.42_538 shows when running the application. Please help chefs!!! You chefs are the brains!

I am not a chef but at this point I would do an SD flash of my favorite ROM.

I would if I could flash from a 16gb micro SD. That is the only card I have. I have read you can't flash with any card over 2GB. Don't know if its true because I don't have any other card. Card is formatted through my pc. Please help!

i'm using an 8GB card and I can flash from SD with no prob
I can't flash from the microSD. I formatted FAT32 through the PC and tried putting a couple different NBH files (stock Roms and custom Roms) and neither my old fuze or my Tilt 2 read it. I don't know if it is because it is a MicroSDHC 2 card. Anybody???
For some reason my fuze and Tilt 2 will not read the card in bootloader. I'm thinking I might have a hardware issue but would like to keep plugging away at possible solutions it might be... The phone is only 2 months old so I'm questioning whether it is a software or hardware issue
In case anybody was wondering, my bootloader reads as follows:

At the bottom of the screen it will show the USB when plugged into the PC and Serial when unplugged like it should
Possible fix
Format your card again but in 16bit.
Copy the ROM image you wish to burn to the root of the card.
Make sure it is named RHODIMG.nbh and nothing else.
Before trying to burn this rom, I would actually burn HardSPL again to your phone.
Then insert card and see if it will reburn your rom.
I am using a 16GB card in my TP2 without problems, but found I actually had less problems by formatting it to 16bit. And any access to the card was actually faster than formatting it in 32bit.

I think it's not a matter of capacity so much as a matter of brand. If your 16GB is from eBay you might well have a defect/reject card. I have a 4GB A-Data from Newegg that I only use for flashing. Never saw any problem with it.

It seems the read can not be read in two devices. That sounds like a defective card. Get your self a 2GB (non HC) card from a reliable source (maybe BestBuy) and keep it just for flashing.

I’m in desperate need of some of your wealth of experience, i have managed to root and flash my g1 with - rc9 JFv1.51_CRB43-EU.zip (Jesus freke), and recovery-RA-dream-v1.6.2.img recovery image!. Now i want to update to a newer rom!
Now for the problem, the recovery program allows me to flash many of the rom's available but none of them work after the flash completes it just loads the g1 screen and stops there i have left it on that screen for about 10 min’s and nothing at all happens, but then it will allow me to flash back to rc9 JFv1.51_CRB43-EU.zip absolutely fine no issues every time?. Do i need to install anything else before updating to Open Eclare 2.1.1 or SuperD1103-blk.? I’m in the UK with a UK g1 mobile if that makes a difference?

Just use the top three wipes available in Anon's recovery menu: Wipe System/Data (1st), Davilk Cache (2nd), Ext Partition (3rd). If you haven't partitioned your SD card into FAT32, Ext2, 3, or 4 and Linux-Swap, do so now with the Recovery menu. You must backup your fat32 first, because a total repartition will totally blank your data. Good luck!

Make sure you partition your sd card and then try like the above said....or maybe try flashing death spl.

i have partitioned the card via anons recovery flasher, i have set my 8gb to 96mb swap , 1.5gb ext2 and the rest is used for fat32.
i have also gone throught the menu and deleted / erased the top 3 as requested but when i install a new rom it still freezes on the g1 welcome screen? please help!

This is YOUR FAULT for NOT READING!!!!
You installed an SPL meant for an HTC MAGIC onto your HTC DREAM. It *CAN* be made to work, HOWEVER, you failed to read and understand what is required to actually do it safely.
SPECIFICALLY, you are stuck in boot mode 3 -- boot to recovery, and because you changed the SPL, your recovery partition is UNABLE TO BOOT.
You are BRICKED, and the only way out is to use a hardware interface called "JTAG", which requires you to disassemble the phone.
SPECIFICALLY:
You missed the part of that thread that says "MOD EDIT PLEASE READ THIS THREAD FOR UP TO DATE INFORMATION".
I have no sympathy for you. That instruction is in big purple letters.

How could you mess it up with step by step instructions....lol...I am being dead serious....it doesn't get more clear than this.
IMPORTANT: Before going any further make sure that you have PVT board. You can do this by rebooting your phone and holding the camera button. The first line should say "PVT" if you see "DVT" then DO NOT flash this because odds are you will get a brick but If it says "PVT" then you are good to go.
First you are going to need to download the latest radio and the SPL. both can be found here http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/ There is also a new radio that is compatible that can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640535
Prior to starting the installation process please make sure that your battery has a good charge. Also DO NOT pull your battery out at anytime during the installation process. I know it seems like common sense but I read a thread where someone had pulled their battery in the middle of the installation process and they ended up with a brick.
Now that all that's out of the way lets get started!
1. Copy "ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip" or "G1-radio-2_22_23_02.zip" and "spl-signed.zip" onto the root of your SD card.
2. Reboot into recovery. I suggest using the RA-dream recovery you can download it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566669
3. Wipe your phone "factory data reset" (this step isnt really necessary since your phone is wiped after flashing the SPL but I always like to wipe before flashing anything)
DO NOT SKIP THIS NEXT STEP OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE
You must have the latest radio "2_22_19_26I" or "2_22_23_02" to flash this SPL if you already have the latest radio you should not have to flash it again but it will not hurt if you do flash it again. When in doubt flash it anyway.
4. Flash the Radio "ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip" or "G1-radio-2_22_23_02.zip" it will install and then it will ask you to reboot to finish the installation, so reboot, it will then finish installing and then reboot back into recovery.
5. Flash the SPL "spl-signed.zip" it will install and then ask you to reboot to finish the installation, so reboot, it will then finish installing and reboot into recovery so you can flash your ROM

Did you follow those steps when flashing the SPL? Did you even flash the radio before flashing the SPL?
It sounds like you have no idea what you did to your phone which is never a good sign (and usually means you shouldn't even be flashing custom radios/spl's/roms)

Sigh....I would go buy another phone off Craigslist or something similar.
Next time...please read before flashing....Although I'm sure you will after the last mishap.
the only way to fix your phone is to buy a doner phone with a broken screen or something cheap off of ebay
there is NO KNOWN WAY to fix it without a doner (the jtag method isnt do-able yet)
I know here in town...there are so many G1's up for sale around the $150 mark in really really nice condition.
That's where I'd be looking if I bricked my G1. Well...I'd be replacing it with a HD2 probably...lol

hmmm are you using a custom rom? is your memory getting low? did you wipe data and cache before flashing this rom?

2.22.19.26i, Cyanogenmod 6.1.0-DS, i don't know about the spl.... what is it?
i flashed it with RA-dream-v1.5.2
one issue i had a few days ago... my dog made my phone fall off the table, and it knocked my sd card loose... so then when i picked it up it said i had no memory left fpr mms... and the only solution was to reflash rom because i had my sdext used for dataon device... so basically i had to re format and re partition my sd card

512mb ext4
re-flashed rom and it worked fine!!
so my guess is your sdcard got knocked lose, or you didn't repair the ext after you wiped it..... or you just didn't wipe it lol
