Hi,
I've been searching for a while now; i think htc home is fine, except for the clock.
I would like to replace the original htc clock (with the lousy alarm function) with spb time, is that possible?
If so, i'm gonna buy spb time, because it rocks!

SPB Time is a stand alone product, it will not interface with the bulit-in alaram app. And if you are looking to get SPB to light up the little alarm clock on HTC home, good luck. I've tried already via reg hacks, the only way to do it would be for SPB to somehow add the function in Time.
I installed SPB Time and Pocket Plus to completely get rid of HTC Home
Actually, the best way to integrate SPB Time with HTC Home wouldn't be to replace the clock, simply to change the linking such that tapping on the clock would open SPB time instead of the Windows Mobile Time settings.
If that's impossible (which it's looking like from the research I've been doing), another option would be to use either the HTC Home launcher to run SPB time, or to enable SPB time's Screen Saver mode.
yep, without re-engineering the Home plugin to do that, it would be impossible. Although that is a great suggestion and probably the only way it would work. It would be nice if that was a registry entry, just select the alarm app you want and it will open when clicking on the time displayed on HTC Home.
Hell, I would be happy if SPB could hack/hook into the alarm icon of the OS (it displays on the home htc and on the standard OS date plugin) and display the alarm icon when an alarm is set.
Any of you guys using SPB TIme also using S2U2? if so, let me know, got something for you to try....
I think the TouchFlo 3D is fantastic for "showing off" your Touch Diamond, but it's a bit gimmicky, and slightly cumbersome, so I'd like to be able to turn it on and off when it suits me.
Out of the box, to do this you need to go into the homescreen settings and select TouchFlo 3D, or, deselect it, and reselect all your usual homescreen plugins - a bit of a pain.
However, I've realised that browsing to the "Manilla exe" in the Windows directory turns on the TouchFlo without affecting your homescreen plugins. If you then kill the manilla process using a a Task Manager which shows processes, you're straight back to your normal homescreen. I've made a shortcut in the Start Menu so I can toggle between the two relatively quickly and easily.
But, I'm looking for some clever person out there to make a simple app which toggles between TouchFlo 3D and normal homescreens at the press of a button. I'm sure it can't be that difficult (for someone who knows what they're doing)??!! It just needs to launch the Manilla exe and then kill it when you want to turn it off.
Anyone fancy having a go?
Cheers
Simon.
It is possible to toggle between spb mobile 2 screens and touchflo 3d though.
Kill Manila.exe
Has anybody come up with an automated(one click) way of killing the Manila.exe process ?
Mortscript
Create a script with Mortscript to check for the presence of manila.exe.
If not present, start it.
If present, kill it.
Create a shortcut to the script in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Assign this shortcut to button 1.

thought thats called SecondToday?
ToggleManila.mscr
I have the same problem, that I want to turn on TouchFlo 3D, but still want to keep my "Classic" Today Screen intact.
Although I tried SecondToday, however it cannot display the internal plugins such as Tasks, Calendar and Date
Thanks to wensing's suggestion, I created this simple script. If you want to run the script, please follow the instructions below.
a) The first thing you need to do is to disable the TouchFLO 3D from Today Panel Plugins, then activate your favourite Today Plugins (except TF3D)
b) Install MortScript
c) Put the "ToggleManila.mscr" in any folder you prefer.
d) Create a shortcut to this script, name it (eg. ToggleToday.lnk) and put the shortcut inside the folder "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs".
e) Go to Settings->Buttons, and simply assign "Button 1(Hold)" to point to the ToggleToday shortcut.
Of course you are free to experiment with other settings or assign it any other buttons.
Another thing to note is, because TF3D will "take over" the Home hardware button, I have no choice but to kill it, so that the classic Today Screen can be activated after TF3D is killed. However this also means the next time you activate TF3D, it will take some time to load. So please be patient and wait for the TF3D while it is loading.
Anyway, this is my first attempt at using MortScript, just a simple piece of work, but hope that I can bring some joy to my fellow Diamond users.
Hope that it works for you guys
Thanks Wensing
The mortscript suggestion works perfectly.
I am running SwiftBL 3.0, and when I launch the script, TouchFLO3d restarts automatically. Does this script work only on roms that have uninstallable manila?
Or do I have to edit some registry settings so that manila doesn't restart automatically?
when I try and assign a button there are no buttons to select in my menu, any ideas why?
Uncheck TF3D

So far, I am using Settings->Buttons and I assign "ToggleManila" to Button1(Hold). By default this may have been assigned to other programs such as Voice Commander etc. Just replace it with "ToggleManila".
I am not familiar with other more advance programs that allow u to assign it to the other hard buttons, so I am sorry I can't advice u on that.
By the way, u might have to create a shortcut that points to the actual file where u place the ToggleManila.mscr, and then u put this shortcut (I simply name it ToggleManila.lnk) inside Windows->Start Menu->Programs before u can select "ToggleManila".
See if it works.
This works great, thanks everyone involved!
I find it better than 2nd Today because the device is much quicker without manila running.

I'm using Dutty's Diamond v1.8 (full) and used to have speed problems when launching applications, particularly after using the audio player.
TF3D is alright but it doesn't actually do anything that special. The weather screen is pretty but most of the other screens are useless, especially the horribly limited 'favourite contacts'. Now that I've got used to the standard windows today screen I prefer it.
I'm looking forward to trying out Schap's TouchXperience though!
that's work very nice
now we must wait for TFL3D tasks and who knows how this thing will be
this works great with the manila2D with the touch. One question though. The script kills the manila2D very quickly, but it does take several seconds for it to run it; any way of speeding that up?
thanks for the script
work very well
thanks for the script. great work
As Leekg has mentioned you can use TF3D and SPB Shell together.
I have left TF3D as it is and installed the SPB Shell as well. On the home screen have reprogrammed one of the Soft keys to SPB Menu -- touching that takes me to the Shell. Closing it brings me back to TF3D!
I do have a question though -- is there any way of changing the default msic player to windows media?
Hey guys. I've got Ultimate Launch and I want to be able to see what programs are running on the today screen. Maybe an icon row at the bottom. ANy ideas?
-josh
try spb ilauncher. do a search on it.
Wisebar Advanced will show you what programs are running in the top bar of the today screen. Check it out HERE.
Magic Button is on title bar but does not cover any standard info. Only 80 KB executable file. Makes close button really close applications. Can be found here :
http://www.trancreative.com/mb.aspx
doesnt regular taskmanager that comes with tilt show you what applications are running..and you can close them...why use another one?
wktask is a my favourite.
You can alter the size of the tabs, hide system applications and LOADS of other options. Oh and it's free. It is one of the most reliable and light applications of this type and is cooked into a lot of XDA dev ROMs. Get the latest version HERE
I am pretty new to Touchflo and am wondering who is using (and enjoying) touchflo, and who still uses HTC home. I remembered reading somewhere that some people uninstalled touchflo and kept with HTC home. I want to see everyone is doing before i get fully on board. Also, if you use another option I didn't list, put in a comment and i can add it to the poll.
While we are on the subject what HTC Home VGA does everyone use? I have tried the PJ HTC Home VGA but has issues with weather...
Damned!
It's hard to live without the touch flo !
We expected it for a long time .....
Its really cute but less productive ....... not unfortunatly as deep thinked than the iphone UI (if we need an exemple)
BTW i can't live without ! everytime i put it off my raph feels naked !
Once i got my hand on SPB Shell, Everything is faster and easier to access. No look back to TF3D here. The interface of spb shell is just beautiful and straight forward. I can run both lunchers side by side but I don't see the need. Fuze's battery life is very good on spb shell tho some reports said it drained battery life especially when run together with TF3D. Well.. my battery last almost 2 days with moderate use with spb shell ( with advanced config max power saver setting and manually switch between 3G and GRPS when needed. So, No compliant at all. )
Just did quite tough battery life test today. Talked on the phone for more than an hr. Missed a few calls. Did some text messaging and checked voice mails. Heavily surf on net using 3G and GRPS. Turn on and off different applications especially the browers/ calenda/ games/ online games... let data connection stay on... 25% left after about a 9-10 hrs day.

I'm using HTC Home, the one I'm using though is a custom one...I combined two installs that were originally seperate and changed the default clock to one I converted to VGA.
another for for HTC Home.. just enough info at your fingertips and doesn't make the phone drag a$$
Was running everything out of phoneAlarm using a full-screen skin that gave me access to literally everything I need from speed dial with photos to weather, app shortcuts, profile control...
Changed to running SBSH Pcoket Breeze in no tabs mode on the bottom 2/3 of my today screen with a different phoneAlarm screen above. The no-tabs mode allows me to swipe the PocketBreeze area of the screen to change to different tabs. The attached screen capture shows my schedule for the next several days with the weather forecasts for those days (colors indicate appointment category).
im too using htc home inside ultimate launcher everything just fine. just have to chang icon size in ultimate laucher to 98 or so
i've tried everything.. mobilematt fuzzberry, dirty wrap etc.. but disable TF3D and running spb pocket plus are still the best for me.. i packed it with pocketbreeze to maximize my appointments schedule.. the spb pp has everything.. batt indicator, shortcuts on Today with multi-tabs (categories) memory status, backlight adjustment, soft-reset... everythiingggg is on Today screen
with 2 taps, i can run any third-party programs i've installed including games, settings, silent mode, vibrate mode etc...
pocketbreeze is to manage my whole month schedule.. either meetings, site visits, dateline.. or family gathering events, birthdays, weddings,
no more touching and flowing.. LOL
HD port tf3d at the moment. But looking hard at the spb but hard to find good vga themes.
I actually don't use either. I use rlToday, which is a simple XML based homescreen.
Here is the version I made for the Samsung Epix.
The one I'm using now replaces the text below the clock with 4 big icons (SMS, Email, Missed Calls, and VM) with their respective counters.
So I still have the neat clock (not animated) and big buttons to get me to the needed app.
There is lots of room between the clock and the 4 bottom buttons... I was thinking of adding a Google Search bar or something... but I dunno.
I just like it because it is simple and displays what I need it to in an easy to read/access fashion.
With the dawn of manila over 6.5, I'd like to request a cab to make these two beautiful interfaces separate panels. I purchased my Xperia because of the slick hardware and styling, as well as the cool concept of panels.
I know you can just check and uncheck some boxes, but I think it would be slick (as do many others) if we could put them as panels (preferably on the new R3 panel manager). If anyone has anything brewing, I'd be more than happy to test.
Someone knows how to make a panel could easily convert touchflo detacher into panels imo, I was gonna try working on it but school has caught up with me
Is it soo dif. 2 make the existing panel cab for the TF3d beta 2 cab work with the beta 3?
Would it be possible to clone the today screen and unlock it as a panel, with independant settings etc, then tick the different boxes for titanium and touchflo on the different main today? I'm not familiar with the xperia sdk etc and have never made a cab. I thinks fards said he was looking at it.
Could anyone familiar with the touchflo detatcher say how its done? And whether it can be adapted for winmo6.5?
Anyone any smart ideas? Still some really nice new manila/titanium roms coming out. Is anyone working on anything?
How about try to have a bounty on the person who can develop this???
try contacting the author of the original touchflo panel
i tired to enable manila v1 as panel in wm6.1. i no its not the same but here is my experience in case someone wants to try and devolp a panel for the new manillla....
1.new start menu must be on.
2. turning off manila from do and then loading touchflo panel leaves us with a white screen with loading....
3. if u press start at this point. the manila start menu loads and after u close the start menu......you will find that manilla in panel started......not much problem after that and everything runs fine
NOW:
i havnt tried this in wm6.5 coz that would probably require titanium start to be off.....which i dont want.
but the point is: manilla is loaded all we need to do is trigger it to show up....
just do it the old fashion way. flash a 6.5 rom, install tf3d beta 2, install the panel. switch back and forth. done

That's promising, but it would be better as a panel. Is there a way to have a second today panel which has separate tick boxes? Anyone know who was the author of tf3d panel?
ja thts a good Question...
coz i just cant get it tht its soo hard 2 change the panel...
\from beta2 to beta3 atleast? but looks like I"m wrong..

Tried at the weekend - it's easy to make a html switcher panel but this is no easier than just ticking what you want in today settings. And it's easy enough to make a show manila panel using Touchflo detacher, which then takes you to Manila home automatically, but the html panel is still truly a blank white screen not TFlo so it's not functional as it should be.
And I couldn't figure out a way that the standard today would always show Titanium. It would have to use the panel button using mortscript to close Manila, then load panel manager in order for it to work. It would be usable (just) but not satisfactory enough for me to spend time making it.
ya I tried using a simple html program launcher panel and found that although it loads up and closes the manilla program it doesn't redirect you back to the home screen after its done so you can view it, I've been looking through c++ panel documentation trying to understand how panels work.
Would Titanium be lighter detached...? I'm not really sure how to approach it from a programming perspective, but it would be amazing. The second today does work REALLY well, but I would LOVE to see it as a panel.

And neither does mToday. So have to be using TFDetacher to toggle between default Windows and TF3D.
Shame...anyone know who wrote TFDet or can write for it??? I'm desparate
