Who uses Touchflo and who uses HTC Home? - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I am pretty new to Touchflo and am wondering who is using (and enjoying) touchflo, and who still uses HTC home. I remembered reading somewhere that some people uninstalled touchflo and kept with HTC home. I want to see everyone is doing before i get fully on board. Also, if you use another option I didn't list, put in a comment and i can add it to the poll.

While we are on the subject what HTC Home VGA does everyone use? I have tried the PJ HTC Home VGA but has issues with weather...

Damned!
It's hard to live without the touch flo !
We expected it for a long time .....
Its really cute but less productive ....... not unfortunatly as deep thinked than the iphone UI (if we need an exemple)
BTW i can't live without ! everytime i put it off my raph feels naked !

Once i got my hand on SPB Shell, Everything is faster and easier to access. No look back to TF3D here. The interface of spb shell is just beautiful and straight forward. I can run both lunchers side by side but I don't see the need. Fuze's battery life is very good on spb shell tho some reports said it drained battery life especially when run together with TF3D. Well.. my battery last almost 2 days with moderate use with spb shell ( with advanced config max power saver setting and manually switch between 3G and GRPS when needed. So, No compliant at all. )
Just did quite tough battery life test today. Talked on the phone for more than an hr. Missed a few calls. Did some text messaging and checked voice mails. Heavily surf on net using 3G and GRPS. Turn on and off different applications especially the browers/ calenda/ games/ online games... let data connection stay on... 25% left after about a 9-10 hrs day.

I'm using HTC Home, the one I'm using though is a custom one...I combined two installs that were originally seperate and changed the default clock to one I converted to VGA.

another for for HTC Home.. just enough info at your fingertips and doesn't make the phone drag a$$

Was running everything out of phoneAlarm using a full-screen skin that gave me access to literally everything I need from speed dial with photos to weather, app shortcuts, profile control...
Changed to running SBSH Pcoket Breeze in no tabs mode on the bottom 2/3 of my today screen with a different phoneAlarm screen above. The no-tabs mode allows me to swipe the PocketBreeze area of the screen to change to different tabs. The attached screen capture shows my schedule for the next several days with the weather forecasts for those days (colors indicate appointment category).

im too using htc home inside ultimate launcher everything just fine. just have to chang icon size in ultimate laucher to 98 or so

i've tried everything.. mobilematt fuzzberry, dirty wrap etc.. but disable TF3D and running spb pocket plus are still the best for me.. i packed it with pocketbreeze to maximize my appointments schedule.. the spb pp has everything.. batt indicator, shortcuts on Today with multi-tabs (categories) memory status, backlight adjustment, soft-reset... everythiingggg is on Today screen
with 2 taps, i can run any third-party programs i've installed including games, settings, silent mode, vibrate mode etc...
pocketbreeze is to manage my whole month schedule.. either meetings, site visits, dateline.. or family gathering events, birthdays, weddings,
no more touching and flowing.. LOL

HD port tf3d at the moment. But looking hard at the spb but hard to find good vga themes.

I actually don't use either. I use rlToday, which is a simple XML based homescreen.
Here is the version I made for the Samsung Epix.
The one I'm using now replaces the text below the clock with 4 big icons (SMS, Email, Missed Calls, and VM) with their respective counters.
So I still have the neat clock (not animated) and big buttons to get me to the needed app.
There is lots of room between the clock and the 4 bottom buttons... I was thinking of adding a Google Search bar or something... but I dunno.
I just like it because it is simple and displays what I need it to in an easy to read/access fashion.

Need a few things for my tilt

I'm in the midst of getting my tilt to be just where i want it to be, custom speaking.
I need help finding the following.
1)Is there a free weather program that I can run, that does NOT sit in my today screen, that will show me radar and dopler maps of weather for my (city/zip code/etc)? I know I can pull up a site in a browser, but i want this. Also, preferably one that can sit in the background and keep updating. and one that might show a movie clip or animated gif so it moves
2)Is there a free add-on for PIE that adds a "find" function and also tabs. With the tabs, I'd prefer one that doesnt add a huge thing at the bottom to click between, as browser space is already limited.
3)I'm running Rhino battery status on my today. and I love it. But i'm 1-2 pixels short so now I get scroll buttons. Is there a thinner battery status, or better yet, for the HTC Home buttons that already shows the battery meter, is there a way to turn that into a % instead of the ||||| graphic?
4)Does anyone know of a free lnk editor? smart.lnk wont install. at least the versions that I tried. total commanders lnk creation is clunky at best.
thanks!
for the weather you may like this one.....

cool thanks. going to check it out.
for the #3 - battery, i found this pbar here that actually just takes up a pixel or 2. and is a task manager.

Multiple Battery Icons...

Ok, Ive looked around and havent seen any fixes or tips for this.. I have three battery icons on the top of my today screen (and yes I know about the KasierTweak setting but that doesnt fix it)... How can I get rid of the extra ones? Ive tried changing the registry for one but all that ended up doing was getting rid of one and moving all the other icons over.. however, the volume and phone icons ended up getting covered up... (see second screenshot)... Id like to stick with the battery icon on the far right, since it gives me a battery status when I click on it, not the battery settings...
looks like the one on the far left is the spb pocket plus one. Just go into the options for pocket plus and disable the checkbox for battery metrer... the other could be the system registry setting to display the battery instead of the clock (not simply the standard battery meter) you need to use advance config or kaiser tweek to disable this or just disply clock then turn off/on phone not soft reset (system sometimes does not keep the registry setting if you stylus reset).... see if this helps.
Please list all the Apps you have installed would be a good starting point. The above mentioned Spb Pocket Plus can be disabled as noted...
The SPB Pocket Plus was the 2nd from left icon... made that one a long slender one across the top...
KaiserTweak controls the one on the right (can make it a
battery or clock)... the registry edit (below) and power down/up instead of soft reset did the same thing as before... the other icons have been moved to the right but you cant see them... this only happens on the Today Screen, when I open an app, you can see the icons...
Nothing:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=0
the far left icon came from QuickMenu...
here are other apps Im using:
whatever was included with Alex's ROM
TomTom
Google Search, Maps
SPB Full Keyboard, Diary, Weather, Backup, Insight, Phone Suite, Pocket Plus
HTC Customizer
HTC Cube
S2U2

Winterface & FunContacts & Zoomboard

You have to try those to believe how good the Winterface application is. I saw the review on Tiltsite.com today, downloaded it and immediately loved it. It is extremely finger friendly, the interface is very intuitive and beautifully designed. It also uses minimum amount of system resource thus is very efficient.
http://iwindowsmobile.com/vito-mobile-shell.html
Their FunContacts is also a gem to have. Extremly finger friendly, smooth scrolling of the contact list like the iPhone. It absolutely replaces the old school "stylus-required" contact application included in WM6.1.
http://iwindowsmobile.com/contact-manager.html
I've also tried their Zoomboard application, I think it's a good concept, however there is room for improvement. It is still quite slow to type on the Zoomboard application. However the accuracy of the text is improved dramatically because of the zoomed in text let you see what you've pressed on the screen. But it still can't beat Kaiser/Tilt's excellent keyboard for typing.
http://iwindowsmobile.com/onscreen-keyboard.html
Enough said, I strongly encourage people to try it out. It will be a investment well spend. They also have a whole lot of other nicely designed applications on their webpage, check them out too.

seems like alot to spend on a couple of good apps that already exist freely...iContact, HTC album (for the photo thing) and even the (Samsung Glyde copy) button interface all exist free of charge. I'd have to see better to be convinced to put down $40 for 2 apps.
how do you install over an existing GUI... today screen , start menu, taskbar, etc???..
does it wipe them all out?
can you go back easily?
tahnx

I don't know what to say other than, yes, no, yes!
Conflicts
Do you know of any conflicts with this app? I have HHC installed right now.

You slide your finger in an arc to enable the interface from your home screen or anywhere else. You can click okay button and easily go back to normal interface if you choose to do so.
When phone is unlocked in Winterface, you can "slide to unlock" the phone with a touch of a finger.
I installed this over Garmin's DK1 WM6.1 cooked rom, so far everything works smooth as silk. Garmin's DK1 includes HTC Home v2.0.1812282.1 that I enabled in my home screen. This app run dependent of HTC Home plugin so there is no problems that I found.
In my opinion this app totally replaces HTC Home just because it is much more intuitive (it displays # of new message you got or # of missed calls you have and stuff like that). Couple finger movement after you can reach almost any application on the phone.
I don't work for this company or anything... Just think it's a really cool app to try.
And after couple hours of useage, here is a little short list of pros and rooms for improvement:
Pro -
Extremly finger friendly, smooth flow, elegant design layout.
Low memory useage, fast start up anywhere in the OS.
Very intuitive interface, texts under icons are extremely useful, compare to some other apps who only incorporated icons.
Love to be able to mix and match the apps I need and put them in order I want.
Room for improvement -
Slide to unlock button will disappear if a phone call caused the phone to lock itself, the phone would also lock itself unwanted after a phone call is in progress. It is annoying because when you want to press the keys on the screen, you find the phone locked with slide to unlock.
Contrast of the default icons are rather low (The whites are a bit above mid gray color)
Would be nice to flip from first page to last and then from last to first in one direction.
Would be nice to have option to display non-clear type fonts, my eye don't see well under clear type fonts.
Too bad SMS-Chat and FunContact have problem displaying typed text in landscape orientation in windows mobile 6.1 device (no problem in 6.0 though), or they would work great alone side Winterface.

so, how do i get that display of clock and slide to unlock?
edit :: wait, i get it.. this doesnt come w/anything else..
i like it -- really fast and nice to look at..
thanx..
Hmm,
I found quirks about the FunContact... Clear Type fonts used in that application will make all the typed in text display go blank when viewed in landscape mode... not recommended......

doesnt that always happen in landscape + clear type ?

I think it does, the system wouldn't even let me enable clear type on landscape mode... Maybe that's why all those apps that use cleartype in landscape mode would not display typed text properly

I personally LOVE the Zoomboard because of it's accuracy when typing one-handed (usually while driving). Obviously, I also prefer the regular hard keyboard, but we all know that's not always an option.
What free software that is similar to Zoomboard are you talking about?

Whats the best home screen plugin???

What do you guys think the best homescreen plugin? im lookin for sumat like the manilla 3D but not as ram hungry,
do you guys have any other faves that you use instead of the touchflo?
I believe SPB Mobile Shell is very popular but I haven't actually tried it.
I went with SPB Pocket Plus instead, which is great for extending the today screen onto several different tabs, which you tap to select rather than slide. Each tab may contain any combination of other plugins, shortcuts and information icons. When used with SPB Phone Suite, Weather and Diary it becomes very handy indeed.
See the link in my sig for some screenshots of the layout I was using a couple of months ago...
WM 6.5 has its own home screen and if you like that, you dont have to install á 3rd party home screen. That would save up the resources.
the best clock is pocket digital clock plugin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374751
I'm testing SPB Mobile Shell now (before SPB Pocket Plus -> Touch Flo3d). Mobile Shell needs similar amount of RAM as Touch Flo - about 59-64% used RAM on my 1.93 stock HTC ROM Diamond. Of course Shell is more powerful and has many configurable widgets, but has some TF's imperfections to (like lack of tasks on today screen).
Pocket Plus is very good and stable application (it has some additional features like useful and comfortable task manager, IE extension, repeating reminders... ), but it feels a bit old (or 2D if you like )
If you're looking for something ready, i would try Point UI 2. It's really light, but still, has a lot of functions and is good looking.
But to me, the best is Homescreen ++ UI, but it's only worth it if you dedicate some time and write your own today plugin...for example, mine one has 5 independent sliding rows with all the stuff i want to see on my today. I use it combined with S2U2, so all my appointments and music playing i leave it to S2U2 and S2P. That keeps me with about 60 mb free with Lumos, Flipit, S2U2 and the homescreen enabled against about 40 mb (at best) with MAnilla.
For me Resco Contacts is very good.
It gives me a quick look of communications,Phone,SMS and E-mails and also easy access to contacts , phone history , sms, e-mails.
I think SPB Mobile Shell 3 is a good user interface but not good enough to replace Manilla Rhodium by XBMOD,cause it doesn't get in depth into the windows menus..For the ram thing, use a custom rom and you will find what you need...

Can I add extra things to the home screen?

I could add extra things to the MS Today screen, can I do the same for the Flo3D home screen? All I have is Call History and Calendar, can't I change this? I only seem to be able to change the tabs at the bottom a bit.
Has anyone found a way to insert other things (links,icons...) to the home screen? Or to take away the calendar/call history links?
Just turn off TF3D, it's a completely useless memory, battery and resource hog anyway. Then put TodayAgenda on your Today screen, it's the best thing since sliced bread. :O)
Any screenshot or preview for TodayAgenda?
Look for Manilla Today Page. It adds another tab to TF3D which functions as a virtual Today screen. This gives you all the beauty of TF3D plus alot of the Today screen functionality.
Sadly it doesn't support all Today screen plugins (I miss PocketPlus desperately), but it is an excellent 'best of both worlds' solution.
The other way is to try SecondTodayScreen. This does as it says and gives you a second Today screen so you can have TF3D running and still access another Today screen with all your plugins on it.
