I am new to this on the diamond, so I have a pretty basic question. Sorry for the bother. I have a NAM version diamond. When HTC came out with their new ROM last week or so, I contacted them and they said it was not designed for my phone and to wait and see if one is put out for the NAM version (has US 3g bands and no front cam). Will I run into any problems with installing ROMs, etc that are here. I read the sticky on what to do first, and understand to do all the HardSPL, etc. Not exactly sure about the radio and actual ROMs that I would be able to use. Just want to make sure its compatible so that I have the least chance of bricking my phone. My last time customizing phones was with the razr v3i, and there were certain roms that could/could not be applied to the phone depending on if it the type of v3i. Thanks again for helping out a new guy.
does your device haev a sim card slot? if it does not then it is a CDMA device and you should be flashing CDMA roms. most of the ones on here are GSM. just check in the rom threads if the rom is a CDMA one or not
many CDMA roms can be found over at the forums on ppcgeeks.com
yeah its a gsm model. I'm just looking to make sure that any of them are fair game, and if the radio, etc matter. I guess I'm a little more cautious since when I talked with HTC, they said that the new ROM would not work on my phone, and so I wanted to make sure if there were any that I should/shouldn't use that are posted here considering that I think most don't have the US 3G version phone.
Just found out I have a Diam 110 if that makes any difference
I have a Rogers G1 that I use with AT&T's service. When I first received the phone (yesterday), AT&T's 3G service was working fine and it even had an option to enable|disable the 3G signal in the settings. However, after I decided to flash the SPL, radio, etc. (after everything, I've decided to stick with Cyanogen 4.2.14.1), my 3G signal no longer works, as I only have EDGE coverage AND there is no setting in the phone that even mentions HSDPA or 3G enabling. I know it's not the ROM that did this, since I was using the Expresso, MLIGN's 3.3 and another ROM. So basically.. How do I get my 3G signal back??? Thanks in advance!

isnt that the rogers radio ?
btw wrong section there is a questions and answers section for help. just so you know. Welcome to xda btw..
now on with other member flames.
Not sure how to help you. Wrong forum by the way. I used my Rogers Dream for AT&T 3G but I have noticed several things about it.
1. The build quality seems much lower than my ADP1. I put my ADP1 that I got in Dec. '08 thru hell and it is battered but not a single thing is wrong with it function wise. My Rogers Dream I had for 4 months and it already bit the dust. I took care of it like a baby, yet the bluetooth has failed, as has the microsd slot. I took it apart and swapped the sd board into my ADP1 and it worked fine, yet it fails in my Rogers one still yet. Damn you Rogers.
2. It always seems to show a low signal strength (~-100 dBm where my ADP1 gets ~-80 on EDGE and my Samsung flip-phone gets ~-75 on 3G all in one area)
I would recommend you try a reflash.

Yes, everyone keeps telling me the wrong forum. When I posted another question on another forum, NO ONE answered at all. Here, I get answers in 3 mins. However, I didn't mean to post it here (I will re-post this thread in the proper section). Thanks for your info! Except, I don't understand what you mean by re-flash.

I wasn't trying to be hateful or snarky. I was just stating that it was, unlike some people who just post "wrong forum jackass" & crap like that I actually tried to contribute something
And by reflash, I mean to try to reinstall another ROM. It could just be a temporary problem that reinstalling Cyanogen's ROM or any other ROM may fix.

Oh.. I know you weren't being "hateful or snarky". I was just saying what everyone else has told me. I hope I didn't come off as "hateful or snarky" either.
If that's what re-flashing is then I've done that plenty of times. Most of the time, I would wipe everything (except the last two settings - Battery & Rotation). I've flashed MLIGN's v3.3, Espresso ROM, some other random v2.3 ROM by the same creator as the Espresso and now, CM's latest (which is what I'm at now - Most stable and it's the most smoothest ROM I've used so far).
its a network issue i doubt anyone here could help at all
Heres your problem..
A g1 WILL NEVER fuction on ATT 3g. They use different bands that the G1 does not use. No matter what you think you may have had, you NEVER had att 3g coverage with a G1. It is an ATT problem, not a rom, radio or whatever problem. Once you unlock a G1 for ATT you say by by to 3g.
Dont belive me, use google and do a tiny ity bity search.

Actually it's not that bad lol. I live in the boonies about 60 mi. south of St. Louis & I have excellent 3G. I average about 120KB/s and on a good day I can cruise at 210KB/s. Not excellent, but when at my house my only other option is Hughesnet or Dial-up it's pretty dang good. Vzw has no service here & T-Mo barely has EDGE. Sprint is the only other 3G network here and I get about 60KB/s average on my EvDo card.

I REALLY hate when people try and give me info that they know NOTHING about. How are YOU going to tell ME if I had AT&T 3G or not? Don't you think I'd realize that!? Why else would I import a Rogers G1!? AT&T's 3G has a much wider spectrum than T-Mobile's, by the way.

oh how I am so tired of you rude little twerps. I made a mistake and I am sorry which I already siad. I was under the impresstion that ATT 3g DID NOT work on G1's I had no idea of the difference in builds.
Dont go giving me a high and mighty BS attitude because I made a mistake. Funny how Im the one who doesnt know what hes talking about, and your the one asking for help.
And as for Tmobiles coverage.. I live in florida.. I stay in florida.. I dont travel. My 3g and sometimes H depedning on what part of town im in averages 800kbps and has gone up to 7mb many times.
So again, Im sorry for making a mistake and apologizing fo rit and Im sorry you prefer ATT.

This should be order for US: Fastest - Slowest
-Verizon
-Sprint
-Tmobile
-A&TT
The top mobile carriers so I excluded any other ones.
I always got slow 3G on my old att phone but tmobile's is faster with great coverage for me and unfortunately bad for you.Not sure what desert wasteland your at that you cant get 3G(jk)...If you dial *#*#4636#*#* then select WCDMA only it should give you only 3G. Not sure if the feature is compat with Att too.

Granted you admitted inaccuracy with your assumption (and at no point apologized, for those keeping track), but with the tone you took in your initial post regarding his issue, I think he has the right to lash out a little.
You can tell him to do itty bitty searches all you want but your input's no good if you don't read first.
Sigh. Back to lurking I go.

yeah, I import at&t phones for use on rogers network, because they share freq's, rogers = at&t
Hey guys. Just noticed that it's starting to get split up between carriers. Is there going to actually be a difference between carrier and internation? Will they have to use separate ROMs and rooting methods?
Also, Where is T-Mobile's forum? Or is it similar to the sprint model?
Rooting methods might be the same, ROMS will not be compatible across models. There may be multi-carrier roms but you absolutely need to make sure you flash things specifically for your model or you will end up with an expensive paperweight.

If anything the T-Mobile one would be more similar to AT&T sprint is CDMA not gsm
This is why there are different forums for the device on each carrier. It's mean to keep people from getting too flash happy haha. If you flash anything from the "Sprint HTC One" forums, you should be fine.

Only problem I have with splitting them is we may run into the problem the Nexus S forum suffers from, where a lot of ROMs end up only getting posted in the main GSM dev forum, even though they have an NS4G version. Important info, guides, whatever were pretty invisible to the layman. I'm sort of concerned here because it isn't just a split of the dev forum, it's completely different headings for each carrier. It'll be interesting to see how different the models really end up being.

True, but while this is inconvenient for us on Sprint it is far worse when someone inevitably tries to flash a rom without CDMA support and they end up bricking their device. I'd rather avoid that scenario and just force us to link to other threads to get additional information. We have to face facts and that is it normally isn't a smooth process for developers to take a GSM rom and port it to CDMA (I saw this plenty as I currently have a E4GT and that was almost a completely different beast than the other Galaxy S2's).
International LTE seems possible if Freq is right
International LTE seems possible if the Bands are right.
According to engadget. http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/08/htc-one-for-att-sprint-review/
For those of you just getting around to cross-shopping the HTC One against other devices, we'll give you a lightning tour of the handset. On board, you've got a standard micro-USB / MHL port along the bottom edge, as well as a metal volume rocker on the right side, and a micro-SIM tray on the left. Of note, the Sprint One is among the first of the carrier's LTE devices to offer a replaceable SIM.
