App to fix the problem of calendar sync with CM? - G1 Apps and Games

There is an external app that can fix or at least to give an opportunity to have a Sync with google calendar?

yes, the app is called "search your calendars, delete duplicate events and have fun with your calendar that syncs fluently on cm, now"

try unchecking the "lock home in memory" in the spare parts app. if that doesnt work, wipe and reflashing.

tryed to uncheck that in the spare parts and unfortunatly doesn't work or it work only partially and i don't know why. I mean i added in the calendar anouther onw that is about the free days in my country and is sync only those days not all the dates that i have in the calender. Other suggestion except of the wipe reflash?

Yes:
"search your calendars, delete duplicate events and have fun with your calendar that syncs fluently on cm, now"
It really helped me, I had the same issue

Something has to put the birthday in the calendar. If you sync with Exchange, and set up your contacts wtih Birthdays, Outlook will add them to the calendar. Google doesn't do this, but there are some tools to do it:
http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2009/07/birthday-calendar-for-google-contacts.html
Since Facebook doesn't have a calendar, I see no way to do it automatically. All the above methods rely on the contact app to talk to the calendar app within one application suite.
If you have Google/Gmail contacts and you have all their birthday information entered there. The easiest way is to go to Google calendar on a desktop. Then you would go to the Calendar settings, click on the Calendars link, and then click where it says to "Browse interesting calendars". This will take you to a page where it has the options for Holidays, Sports, or More. If you click more, there is a "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar that you can subscribe to. Once subscribed, you can then select it as one of the calendars to sync on your phone to the calendar app.
Sounds complicated and maybe it is for some, but it was not for me. Hope this helps.
"EboBirthday" from Android Market does exactly what you're looking for perfectly and you don't have to worry about syncing with anything outside of the contact list on your phone.

well... kind of...
when you turn your phone off, and turn it back on... all the birthdays dissappear from the calender and you have to run EBOBIRTHDAY again... which takes a few minutes if you have a lot of contacts...
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?
Hmm. This didn't happen to me and I've had it practically since the phone came out

Meh. I still prefer the Google contacts and calendar method.

Default Calender app not syncing with Google Calender?

I have the sync checked and everything, but when I go the google calender through my computer it is blank. Any suggestions for why it isn't working. It problem something stupid I haven't done.
Underneath the date where it says calendar, did you choose your acount instead of my calendar? Sorry if that seems insulting, we just have to rule out the obvious first.
I have both checked. And don't worry about insulting me. Like I said, it is probably something stupid.
Was sync ever working? What changes have you made to your phone (e.g. new firmware)?
Your settings seem fine.

No special rom or anything and synchas never worked. I tried unchecking and checking the thing again. Didn't work. What its weird is that the info shows up on the launcher pro + calender widget. It seems to be missing some events though.
As I understand this - your calendar is displaying correctly on the phone, but not on your computer?
When you create a new calendar entry on the phone, are you making sure that it is placing it in the google calendar and not "my calendar" - you have to change this as "my calendar" is the default and does not sync to google calendars.
So my calendar will not sync with my google calendar? I have to do it with each event manually? I thought that if the syncing was set up to sync with my google calendar, that it would.... sync with it. Or does it only work one way? Google calendar to my calendar, but not the other way around?
It sounds like you might not have background and auto sync enabled, do you know if you do?
In the calendar app, as mentioned before, make sure you're selecting "[email protected]" rather than My Calendar (its annoying to me, seems like they should sync by default without my input, but at least that part is simple enough for me to get over it).
Then, check out your settings... Apps >> Settings >> Accounts and sync
Do you have Background data and Auto-sync checked? these are crucial, though i think Auto-sync is what should fix this.
Then select your gmail account just below that. Make sure everything is checked. Calendar could be unchecked by default, thus not syncing. I can't remember what's checked out of the box.
Then, I suggest adding the Power Control widget to one of your home screens (I don't know if this is installed by default, I've downloaded and removed too much to remember it all ). The 4th box is the Auto-sync toggle. I need my battery to last all day, so I have this off until I can actually use the stuff, like email, etc.
You can either leave it on at all times and deal with minor battery loss (i think it's minor, tomorrow I'm testing how much battery it will consume leaving on). Or you can toggle it as needed like i do, and when on, it will sync up the calendar, along with everything else. This may not solve your problem, but it sounds reasonable to me. I might be in the same boat as you if I hadn't read a lifehacker article about the Power Control widget and syncing my google stuff.
Let us know how it goes
I have exactly the same problem and I have been trying to fix it all week!
Seems everything is right but nothing will sync, it says it has but my calender is nowhere to be seen, can anybody help I have even factory reset to try again today...

Rereading some of this.... It seems like you are seeing Google events on teh phone, but phone events are not showing up in Google.
Probably the issue is the events are created on the phone (by default) in "my calendar" not in the google calendar. 2.2 fixes this, but 2.1 (the stock build and the recent update) make all entries go into "my calendar" by default. You can change this via a drop down, but you have to do it for every calendar entry you create on the phone.

Deleting facebook event syncs

Small problem regarding the facebook sync feature. Sometimes, people invite me to groups such as "5 000 000 Support Japan with a CLICK". I have RSVP'd "Not participating" on it, but it still shows up on my phone calendar.
To make matters worse, it's a recurring event which is every day at 14:00 or something like that, which clutters up my calendar. I have the same problem with some other events.
I can't find a way to delete it. I still want to use facebook sync function for birthday reminders and events that I actually do want to go to.
So, XDA, is there any way to solve this annoying little problem?
Go to the event page on facebook (the actual site, not the app). At the very bottom there is a link "Remove from my events". That should remove the event from your calander when it next syncs
I feel your pain. I am actually tempted to remove friends who do that on facebook.

Woop, blessed be thy soul! I was looking for such a function but I obviously didn't look hard enough.
Though I must say that putting such a button on the bottom of the page doesn't seem very user-friendly.
Thanks.
To me did not work, another idea, please?
That did not work for me either on my HTC Desire.
No matter what I do, the damn event persists on the calendar.
I've also tried deleting both Facebook, Facebook for HTC Sense and Calendar data, and still, with 0 data, the all day, 3 month event is there on the "facebook calendar".
Does anyone know where HTC Desire stores information on the facebook calendar's events?
Sweet lord, I finally found it!
From askmefast.com How_to_unsync_calendar_htc_android_facebook-qna301278.html (sorry for not posting link correctly, forum doesn't allow me to)
If u want to keep your facebook calendar but just remove that annoying event that is cluttering your calendar just open the event and hold the MENU key until the QWERTY keyboard appears then press backspace and an option to remove the event will appear!
That's it!
Thank God

I actually made an account for this forum just so I could thank you for that....I've been trying to do this for weeks. Genius, worked perfectly
I have the same issue and the HTC tricks not work for i9000.
Anyway to remove the unwanted recurrence facebook events? Even removing the event from facebook homepage can't fix the issue. The only way to work is clear the calendar storage then resync. However by clearing the storage all birthday info will be gone. (To fix this you will then need to clear the contacts storage.. and re-link all friends)
I am still looking for a way to remove the facebook event in i9000. Maybe editting the database directly can solve the issue. Any hints from XDA?
Hello,
I also have this irritating issue, and the solutions mentioned above didn't work on my SGS2. Any other suggestions? Having this idiotic event in my calendar every day is greatly annoying. I've tried deleting all data, resyncing, I don't have it on my facebook page... seems like a bug to me.
Solution?
Anyone?????????????????

Calendar sync error

I'm running Nova HD Plus RC6-15 on my LG O2X.
I noticed that my calendar isn't syncing. It's completely empty on my LG O2X.
So I checked the account & sync status and it had syncing errors on the browser and calendar.
Removed the account. Added it again. Sync started but still no data in my calendar. Gmail is working just fine.
When I go to Calendars in the app and click on the button to choose which calendars to sync it crashes (calendar is stopped).
The thing that strikes me is that under synchronization settings there are several syncs running: Browser, Contacts, Documents etc. All doing fine. The one that isn't working is the Calendar but the name is off. It's called com.android.calendar sync whereas the others have proper names.
Is my calendar app corrupted or something? Is there a way to fix that?
The other thing I noticed is that the mobile version of my google Calendar is empty as well. When I switch to the desktop version I can see the data.
Bit of a weird problem so all help and ideas are appreciated!
Solved my own problem by checken loads of other calendar sync topics.
Found this one somewhere, and it works!
To everyone with sync problems (calendar). when installing CM9 you have to first flash the rom then gapps AND BEFORE YOU REBOOT WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET. This will fix calendar sync.

Reset default app for attachments in Gmail

Hey guys,
For some reasons I can't figure out how to reset the default app to open an attachment in Gmail. The way to do this either changed in Jelly beans or in the new Sense :S
More specifically calendar invitations open through the calendar in the *browser* instead of the calendar app. I probably selected the wrong option the first time it asked...
How do I reset that?
Cheers
/lys
Answering my own question. The only way to do this seem to be resetting *all* app default preferences.
As it happens this was not my issue. The real issue is that the new Sense calendar does not accept google calendar invitations. So even if you select that as the action when you click on the gmail calendar email, it goes to the google calendar on the web.
I don't like that. The Sense calendar on the Sensation did not do that. It accepted the invitation in app.
Quick solution was to download the stock calendar. Happier this way...

That may be Gogole's fault, not HTC's. Google have closed off exchange syncing which may be what HTC were using. It's caused me problems in Windows 8, wouldn't allow mail to open from Gmail unless I deselected calendar and contact syncing when adding my Gmail account;
