Hi all,
Im trying to flash my SPL by following the sticky guide in order to install the Windows Mobile 6.5 and Manilla 2.5 ROM by Miri. I connected the device to my laptop, got an ActiveSync connection, started in Bootloader, waited for the USB sign and ran the application but the loading bar gets stuck on 0% before giving an Error. I then went to troubleshooting and tried the manual SPL flash but when it restarts in the new bootloader, I don't get the USB text at the bottom. If I try running the program, I get Error 260: Connection. Sorry if this has already been covered in a previous post, I did try searching the forum but didn't really know where to look.

I had same problem.
Change usb cable, change usb port you are using and make sure antiviruse turned off.

You're using sticky guide yet you created a new thread instead of posting in sticky....why? no need for this

p.s. for your info
ERROR [260] : CONNECTION
This error occurs when the RUU cannot make a connection to the device right before flashing. This typically happens when you try to flash a new SPL to your device. Use Soft-SPL before attempting the RUU again.
If this doesn't work, try resetting your device, put it in bootloader and then connect it to usb cable

Guys,
I just tried to upgrade to a new ROM on my Cingular 8125. I have upgraded from the original rom to a Mr. Clean AKU 2.3 Rom a while back. This time I tried to load Ell's AKU 3.2 Rom.
Anyway, my computer locked and restarted during the flashing process (99%)
My phone turns on and shows the colored bar screen (is this called the bootloader?). This is all it does. I'm not sure how to try and fix this. I'd like to try and reflash a rom; however, if I try to do that I get Error 260. This error says it can't find the phone which is easy to understand since Activesync can't connect since the phone won't boot.
HELP!

i had this very proglem... TURN OFF THE PHONE ASAP.. as the bootloader screen will drain your battery very quickly.... reset computer and phone... plus in the USB cord.. and in the booth loader screen in the lower left corner.. you should see USB!!! just flash workin room.. and you should be set to go.. i believe>.
When I plug the phone in it does show USB in the lower left corner; however, The rom update utility can't see the phone.
Am I doing something wrong or should I be trying to install the rom in another manner?

hmmm i dont know... try restarting both devices.. other then that i cant hlep ya.. im still new to this...
USB means it is connected.
Again, keep the battery out when you aren't doing the flash. Reboot the PC in case the link is down.
Try flashing a stable ROM, like the Mr. Clean one you used before. Activesync doesn't need to operate, the ROM will see the wizard if the wizard says USB.
Zonealarm actually interferes with my ROM flashes, although it prompts me to see if it is ok; you might turn off your firewall prior to doing the ROM flash. If you do so, disconnect from the web.
I have also the same problem with my XDA 2 mini or the other called this the HTC Magician. I try to UPgrade my Radio 1.03 to 1.12. and when im applying the upgrade procedure the Upgrading stops and error. What happen now is my XDA 2 mini or HTC magician doesnt open now. only the word "SERIAL" and when i plug the USB, the word "USB" show on the screen................... Is there some one can help me pleasssse with my problem....
I tried to update my rom and it was working, until my laptop turned off. (I forgot to plug in the power cord). So I tried it again, and it was stuck in bootloader and so I tried to update it using a Official Cingular Rom. But it gives me an error 260 saying cannot connect. I then tried to use mtty (one of the guides on here) but there's no USB option. I tried this on 3 different computers. Any suggestions please?!
To access mtty with USB option, you need to kill the wcescomm process (or disable USB connection in ActiveSync).
Thanks for the reply but I did kill it and disable usb connections. Stll no USB shows up. Im using a pretty new laptop with XP
Are you sure your Wizard is in bootloader mode when you start mtty?
It's always in bootloader mode when it's on since the Rom Update Failed ( computer turned off).
I really don't know why I have this problem. It was working before, but then it failed, and now it wont connect
Try to flash it on another computer.
I suspect there are problems on the USB ports (And/Or software issues) of your computer...
In my first post I said I tried to flash it on 3 different computers ( I meant laptops.) I dont know why it wont work now though. It worked yesterday
If it helps before it gives me the 260 error it says my USB device is not recognizable.
Please, does anyone have anything?
Im getting realy worried and my warrantys expired
help me stuck on bootloader
what do i do when i downloaded mtty? im am stuck on the bootloader screen due to a 98percent error but right now i cant do anything but stay on the bootloader.
I downgraded so im back to
IPL 1.01
and SPL 2.25.
HELP me get out this screen please? I've tried almost everything i could search on this forum. thanks in advance. and thanks for the hard work on the great roms you guys have!
Is there any other way to revive my device? I've been trying for the past 2 days and it's still not working
TheTop- Flash a official rom to it
I have tried official Roms like the one from the htc website, should I just keep trying even if I get error 260?
dunno if it helps, but make sure that you're battery is charged at least 50%. It seems to be one of the requirements that are needed when you normally flash with the RUU after activesync hookup. I know that when I tried flashing below 50%, the program wouldn't work for me and boot out.
if it's below 50%, look for a friend to charge it and try again.
Sometime ago I've installed pdaviet non-touchflo firmware on my Herald. Everything was ok, but i decided to flash an official RUU - before upgrading to Touch-It by itje.
And strange thing - after hard-reset, before any flashing i lost activesync connection. 3 PC-s, 2xXP, 1xVista - all computers simply doesn't see my pda. It works completely, it is charging via USB - but no connection with PC. Advanced network setteings -all the same.
Yesterday, before hard-reset it worked.
Ok. Tried to flash from bootloader.
The same thing - RUU says "no pda, sorry".
btw, bluetooth activesync works well.
any help?
edit:
and one more question. on one of the herald pictures here, i noticed "USB" string in the bottom of the bootloader screen. I don't have it on my herald. Is it normal?
edit 2:
Is it possible to flash Herald using microsd card?
Exectue clear storage. I think It will help.I remember it worked for some one

Im not sure if you are still having the first problem but there is a guide that one of our fellow members posted in the herald forum on installing Touch_It. It address this communication issue and how to reload RUU if you get stuck.
edit: found the guide try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327046

No - i even don't have usb connection in the bootloader
looks like it is very simple - usb dead. Strange, anyway.
Hi
I'm following Crackwhore's excellent guide to try and flash my Blackstone to WinMo 6.5. So far I've succesfully dealt with the whole USB driver problem (I'm running 7 x64), and I can get my phone to load USPL, but I can't seem to get the next bit right. I've downloaded Miri's 6.5 ROM, what do I do next? I tried running the BlackstoneRUUWrapper.exe with the phone connected in bootloader mode - it didn't work. Neither did the HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.exe file suggested by the guide. It says in the program that I should be connected with ActiceSync, is this actually the case? Sorry for this confusion, I'm sure it's simple when you know how...
Thanks
Fredley
Have you disabled the active sync in the PC ?
You have to go to the Windows mobile device center and disable allow USB connection i think. Then when your screen says USPL (the color screen) connect to the PC, it should display USB on the display, after that execute the BlackstoneRUUWrapper.exe. Don't forgot the Hard Reset after flash (power up with both volume buttons pressed).
I think I'm fine now, sorry for that. My problem was not going through the whole USPL process before trying to flash a ROM. I am loading the ROM now, fingers crossed!
fredley: Glad to hear it's sorted.
In future, please use the sticky guides to post questions. You actually get better exposure there. Crackwhore and Fallen sparten (and even me sometimes ) follow those and reply quickly.

I am trying to HARDSPL my Tilt 2 and keeping getting not connected errors [264]. I have tried auto and manual. I placed the CAB file on the device and re-ran. I tried it in Win 7 and XP Mode. The deivce is connected, I can browse files thru the PC, Outlook is syncing, etc...
What will happen if I flash a new ROM without HARDSPL?

It won't flash at all.
Make sure you're running the file as administrator, other than that I have no idea what else you can try.
Hope this helps.
search for "enablerapinew.cab" and install
You need to post in the HardSPL thread, if you are having trouble with HardSPL
Thanks for the replies. I am making progress, but still not there.
I already had the enablerapinew.cab installed and I am using the manual flash method.
I "ran as admin" and it started the flash process. This time I got progress bars on-screen and on the device, but both stayed stuck at 0% until the flash utility timed out and walked me thru the recovery process.
I am using Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.6965. It shows connected but drops the connection when the flash process starts. I assume this normal.
Any other suggestions.

Hmm at least I helped a little, try updating the Device Centre to the newest, which I believe you acually.
A couple more things to try, one you need an active internet connection (can only assume you have this) and I found this on the HardSPL thread...
"if you get error msg for hard-spl program where it can not connect to device than use the cab that the hardspl program asks you to install on device: especially for tilt2 users.
Once you install the cab (on device), rerun the hard-spl program. DO NOT freak out as your device completely powers off. leave the usb cable plugged into device and computer and follow onscreen prompts."
Also make sure your radio is on (aka you have signal on your phone/it's not in airplane mode) and the basics such as the cable and the USB the device is plugged in to.
Once again, hope this helps
Problem soved. I published my answer in the Hard SPL thread.
