I have been in the middle for some time now to cook a Danish Language Rom for my Xperia X1 using WM6.5.1 and Rhodium OEM.
Since we lost the ability to have regional language pack after Da_G was contact by a guy claiming to be a Microsoft Internet Investigator. We lost these files.
I found a WM6.5 Rhodium danish Rom (The official one) and ran extracted a got packages out of it.
Then I thought I got the language pack that I needed. But then I try to compile the rom with the language pack from the HTC rom (WM6.5 build 21xxx) inserted in the SYS folder I get the error "tahombda.ttf" already exists" This error accurs do to something happening in the Base_lang_0406 folder I took from the HTC rom. Don't know what it is cause the folders and their contens are identical.
Any idears? Why SYSTEM_DEFAULT_FRONTS from build 23071 can conflict with Base_lang_0406 from build 21xxx?
I know there's an issue with the danish language on some level, Itje has run in to it aswell with his multilanguage rom. I would ask him if i were you. Don't know much more, but I hope it helps

If I delete default fronts folder the rom build look like sh*t! But I will ask him thanks.

I'm surfing a lot on this forum, and what i need is some help by cooking a rom... based on another rom in another language..
for example.. we take the BLACKSTONE WM6.1 V09 (PV) - Build 20769.1.4.5 - pdaviet.net

It can be done by replacing all the language packs (_0409) and by editing or replacing config/provxml files. Best place to discuss this is the cooking class thread.

1. Yes, you can do that.
2. If you can extract the rom (don't know if the rom is secrued,). But if it's not, you open OEM & SYS and change the (_0409) packages to (_040x) German
I suggest you have downloaded the orginal German rom for this!

But good luck, (you could also just ask the single cook, to make a german rom for you? )

i will try this, and let know if it works for me! Is it important to have take the OEM en SYS from the same rom version as the cook? or doesnt that any effect.
just remember to use a initflashfile that is either translated to your language or use one from official rom with your language (last is always prefered)

Well, I managed to do *something*.
Here's what I did:
1- With the kitchen I extracted both WWE 1.19 and PTG 1.14 roms;
2- Then I replaced all the content of OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_HKCSL_WWE_0409 with the content of OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_0816.
3- I replaced 0816 with 0409 in the file's names.
4- Cooked the rom and flashed it to my HD.
When the process stoped I had everything in english except the Youtube App
Everything in the youtube App was portuguese (except the video categories, don't know why). Now I'm reverting to the portuguese rom to see how the videos categories shows up. Maybe They were in english because the system wqas recognized as english.
BTW, I did this that way just to see if it was possible.. I will read a bit more to do it the proper way, without trying to "fool" the os with filenames...

Hmm i'm not quite sure,, but what is you rename your current directory:
OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_HKCSL_WWE_0816
to
OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_0816
i'm not quite sure... but you can give it a try.. and else,, replace the whole youtube app...by an english version

if you set the MUI language via registry to german (0407) the muifiles with 0407 extension are used! but if the 0407 fiels are corruped, not signed or anything else it won't used!
and i have the same problem with your mui files!
there is still no text on the notification manager
I use the german language cab for Laurentius V2.2 Topazrom.
But there is a foult on the calenderscreen:
The days are not Montag, .. but IDS_calender_Dayvie...
-only shown as ids, but if you select today you see the whole word.
Is there a way to change that?

I'm trying to build a dutch ROM. The only thing that I know is that I can add/remove packages. But all the other thing like the SYS and rgu files and all the other files that have to be changed are to difficult for me.
So is there someone that want to make a ROM for me? Based on the new Blackstone NLD 1.56 ROM and the Topaz NLD 1.39 ROM.
The only thing that I want to be changed is that I want the Blackstone ROM with the Manila and keyboard from Topaz. And that everything works.

Not everything will be in Dutch then. Only the most Manila things.
If someone can tell me how i get the new contact card working and the personel card (Me card) then I will be happy to.

Been reading up on how to translate WM-ROMs by use of MUI files. Working on making a swedish version of WM6.5. Maybe someone here can answer a few questionsmarks for me.
- Can MUI files be replaced pro-flash or do they have to be cooked in pre-flash?
- Is there language-specific content located anywhere but the MUI files?
it is not possible to change language after flash
you have to cook the new language into the recipe
My suggestion would be: use ervius VK
1- dump a swedish ROM
2- use the swedish OEM and EXT folders
3- use the swedish ROM/Kovsky/"build no."/ folder (OEMXIPKernel), just change the old build numbers to the new build ones
4- use the new ROM/Shared/"new build no."/ folder (MSXIPKernel)
4- use the new build SYS folder, but replace all 0409 folders with swedish ones from the same SYS build or similar build (eg. you can add 23022 swedish files into a 23028 build)
5- cook
May I suggest reading my thread....
Because yesterday I uploaded a Swedish wm6.5 visualkitchen based on 23028....
