root and flash rom
so its not possible to ROOT or flash on this device ?
i cannot use adb it dont find the device
fastboot can but is not allowed to modify the rom
brokenworm
hey which option i can part my sd card?
You don't need to part your SD card for the Tattoo.
If we run the command 'adb shell reboot oem-78'
It reboots the device and stop at the HTC logo (like it happens from the ROM Updater)
In that screen it is possible to execute commands from fastboot.
Before that I couldn't execute any command, not even reboot, with fastboot from hboot screen.
I still can't push the Official updates from HTCPedia because of the signuture (I have tried to SignAPK them with the testkeys but it doesn't help at all).
Does any of you have an idea how can we get the correct keys and update the image?

Hi everybody.
yesterday i finally recive tattoo from htc to make test and review. But "tweaker soul" don't let me to avoid rooting
First of all - i recive 2GB microSD card in set, it looks that this is goldcard (?) - when i boot phone with this card, they automaticly comes into recovery (phone with ! Sign) and wait for update.zip. it is possible? With every else cards they boot directly to OS (without recovery).
Secondly - on base rom i have big issues with media player - it "froze" on sense ui - music plays, sometimes i need to switch a few time screen to wake up my tattoo - does somebody has similar problem? FW oryginally from HTC, 1.67.405.6
Get tattooed, enjoy ;D
i tried to enter the recovery mode but just goes to the triangle with the ! and mobile and nothing else happens..is there something that is wrong or am i doing the procdure wrong...help pls...
Did you get to the Mobile with the ! Triangle mode, and then do the HOME + END button trick? Reread the steps again...
Actually its HOME + BACK + END...
That combo worked out for me.
But be sure to pres it for just a moment, else you will reboot the phone ;-)
Has anyone tried the simlock option in the menus?

I realised that I've already present this version of baseband so I do not have to do anything for now...
however I'd like to know if a future update will improve the gsm signal for example

i will tell u what all i did & what all messages i got while updating,,,
copied ur zip file & renamed it to update.zip( i already have ur r2 MCR ROM installed with root access & Amon RA recovery image)
i did nandroid backup
wiped dalvik's cache
wiped data
then applied update from sdcard
it started verifying the zip file & extracted radio image & said me to reboot with volume-up + volume-down or menu to complete installing radio
i did exactly like thatthen it rebooted, tattoo image came i kept on pressing vol key & menu key
then came this arrow directing on phone image, it stayed there for few secs... say 40-50 secs
then it rebooted again with tattoo image & came to recovery image
no message but i got a message saying formatting cache.... it got hanged for quite some time.... then when i pressed vol key & menu key it got rebooted & came to home screen.
but it gave me the feeling of as if i have installed new r2 MCR ROM as a new one & it asked me to set up google account & facebook etc etc.... including the place & language....
but when i went to see the information about phone, its still G not H... a big disappointment.....
i am very much unhappy now, how can ur work go wasted paul ??? is it ur work or is it my mistakes in flashing this update... please help me get this radio installed on my tattoo....
i am requesting u so much, please find a solution for this please....
hmm
i also have the latest modaco r2 rom and looking at the radio my phone has i see its the same as the radio this update is providing.
so i cant check the process to see if works or not !
in reply to manuvaidya i dont think you should have wiped data at all, you just need to go into recovery and apply update without wiping.
may be you can use your nandroid backup to restore your phone then try again.

Hmmm, perhaps it's not the radio image that is determining that 'G' or 'H', perhaps it's the SPL?
What is your hboot version? (turn on phone with volume down pressed and post all the info here)

Ok, I went to flash a new recovery image on my phone. (recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2-blue.img). following the prompts here; http:hero-roms.blogspot.com/p/amon-ra-recovery-image.html#uds-search-results[/url]
My phone is now in a bootloop. I cannot access the new flashed recovery or the old one (obviously). The only menu I can get is the original recovery screen. HELP! I need to get my phone back up and running soon, or I will have to take it into sprint.
The only other Idea is to somehow create an issue on the phone so that when i take it in (Im within the 30day purchase policy) so that they cannot tell i rooted and flashed ROMs on the phone. Id like to avoid this!
HELP!
I have searched the forums for other solutions already, and I cant help but wonder if i have made it worse.
Edit: If at all possible, I need someone experienced to help walk me through. PLEASE!! I need to get my phone up and running ASAP. Its my bday (Hell of a day to be doing this)

Funny?
Im not sure what you mean. Format the phones memory or the sd card? The sd card has already been formatted (one of the mothods of attempted recovery that was tried and ultimately failed) so now I no longer have the partitioned drive that i did when the phone was working. I dont think thats any issue though, as the problem is in the phones memory, not the SD Card.
Here is what the phone says in the boot screen i get;

Okay I don't know how to flash a recovery except when the rom is running so what you'll need to do is a manual install follow these steps below (credit to zelfie and my search button) :
unplug your phone from your computer and turn it off before you do this
First download the ruu installer.exe
run the ruu installer.exe
open up taskmanager and go to processess
in processess you'll see "ARUWizard.exe" click on it and open file location
scroll through the temp file till you see rom.zip and copy it to your desktop
end the ruu.exe
now rename the rom.zip to HERCIMG.zip
place that on the root of your sdcard (on your sdcard but not in any folders)
Now turn your phone off (if not already)
put the sdcard back in and press volume up and the power button
when it comes back on press the volume down button
it will prompt you to push the action button (the trackball)
give it some time and it will do what needs to be done then start the process of getting root all over again. Don't use the page you mentioned before use this one.
Since I'm teaching you stuff I noticed that you don't know how to use the insert link button. Copy the link your gonna use then when you post a reply you'll notice a little globe with a chainlink, click on that and paste the link in there. Your not the only one who's done it lately otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it

If he can't ADB is impossible to create a goldcard..
You can try to reinstall recovery through adb, if it still works.
Edit: oops sorry, disregard.
i have a goldcard, but the point is there isn't any difference between turning out the phone with goldcard or without. theoretically, goldcard lets branded HTC's to install HTC roms...but for this i need usb working (working adb)
i think that the problem is in the recovery...but i can't reflash it!!
any suggestions?
You can flash the htc' s stock rom from sd card too, if you have a goldcard.
Just rename the rom.zip file(you can find it on your user's temp dir if you run RUU utility on pc) to CLICIMG.zip and put it on root of sd card. Then you can flash it from fastboot by pressing vol down button.
Wich RUU to choose?
On this site http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Click
There are at least 3 RUU WWE with different numbers 1.67.... and 1.56..... or 1.65. etc..
Which of them shall i use?
1.67.xxxx WWE
Thanks chap!

Ok let me tell you if u have the same problem than do as the steps..
i had this problem after googling long time i found this solution ..
1st check ur hboot 0.33 or 0.35??
my hboot is 0.35.0017 and i am on froyo 2.2 stock is FRF91.
just download the PASSIMG for FRF91 from
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...on_KT_KR_2.15.1010.2_FRF91_release_signed.zip
after download rename it "PASSIMG.zip" than put it on root of sd card..(formatted by fat32)
now put phone is bootloader mode by pressing vol up + power button
than fastboot verifies passimg file and ask you to flash this rom
now press vol up (yes)
than wait for 5 min to flash this rom on ur nexus one..
reboot and wait for 5min and it and done...
if u still not boot normal than again go to boot mode
select recovery
when u see trangle logo and android than press vol up +power buttong
than recovery menu show up
than wipe user data

Have you tried booting into recovery? Power+volume down...
Did you try to boot without the SD card? It helped me once.
Assuming you are running a custom recovery image, go to it via the bootloader menu (Turn phone on while holding volume down, then navigate to recovery using the volume buttons and selecting recovery using the power button). You should then be able to flash the same ROM you currently have installed. If however this is a completely stock device then you could run PASSIMG.zip via the bootloader to save your current install. If you need more info just ask

If you can flash a rom use 2.1.1 not 2.1. Assume you are doing that thru fastboot from pc.
Also, try the 3 finger reboot to get to recovery.
Hold down pwr/vol-/trackball at sametime until phone boots into bootloader, then navigate to recovery option. Then wipe all and restore a good bu. If this happened while dl'ing apps, one may be bad. Get all of them off phone and do one at a time.

You may have some options thru fastboot and the pc. Do you have SDK installed on pc. I am not good at that, someone else may have suggestions along those lines. Unless, as I asked, you already have used that method to flash amon ra 2.1.
If you can thru fastbboot with SDK I would still flash amon 2.1.1

I am out of ideas, sorry
Someone will get you going
Sounds like you are using SDK, it may be the way to wipe and get back to an original phone state, then reupgrade. I don't know sdk very well.
Did you try the other idea of trying to get to recovery with sd card out of phone. If you do that you may want to back it up while out of phone if you have a sd card reader
Good Luck and wait for more help

Why does this thread say solved??
Just restore a stock image.
Follow the wiki guide for unroot/restore. Use the passimg method, with the FRG33 zip, which can be found by following the link on the word "here" on step 2...

Thanks for your input DR
The back to stock and passimage was where I was thinking he needed to go. But, know nothing about doing that without a lot of research of my own.
Anyway glad he got it--what did he do to fix
ken
Looks like he did exactly what I posted. Funny thing was, it was a thread on another forum, where I had suggested the same thing to someone else, and he'd picked up the trail... xD

You want to UNLOCK the boot loader FIRST, then deal with CWM/TWRP later.
If you don't, you will get stuck in a boot loop.
ICS is the first factory ROM on the P970 where LG locked the boot loader. Much of what's on here is folks moving up from Froyo or Gingerbread. ICS added a number of headaches for phone hacking.
The good news is that once you unlock that boot loader, it's "business as usual".
I've tried with bootloader unlocker by Ilko and said "killing server" server not found....can you tell me why?

Not sure. Does it prompt you for a server address? I wonder if it's related to allowing a 127.0.0.1 connection?
Did you launch the unlocker with administrator privileges? You'd have to right-click first then "run as administrator".

On first blush, it looks like things may have worked... Maybe not.
When I first rooted my phone, I connected it to the computer (via USB) with the phone OFF. I think I held down the volume up (or was it down?) button, and holding that, powered on the phone. It went to the boot loader. Then I did the rooting magic.
Are you doing that ?

If it's rooted, it's rooted.
I'm guessing you have CWM downloaded too.
It's just the bootloader now.....
I need to do some research. Try what I was talking about. I didn't have to remove anything when I did the root (SD card, etc). Just the volume + power (I think that's right).
Maybe someone with more experience on the ICS bootloader can pipe in. I'm working blind here.

Good, now you need 3 things :-
1. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&hl=en
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1624565 (If you want to flash higher than ICS ROM, like JB or KitKat)
3. Your desired ROM's zip
STEPS :-
a. Put both (2 & 3) at the root of your SDCard via any method you prefer.
b. Install the 1st from market (or apk) and open it. From its menu reboot to recovery. (you may need to install CWM from its menu to reboot into recovery, so be sure you have data)
c. Flash the (2) AROMA Recovery flasher and select the latest one without any mod (best from Evi)
d. Reboot normal just to check everything is normal.
e. Reboot again to recovery using Rom Manager's reboot to recovery option menu.
f. Do a factory reset/wipe data from CWM menu
g. Select "Install from ZIP" and select the desire ROM's zip you have put in 1st step.
You are done.
NOTE : in CWM, Rocker button goes up n down, and search button selects the option. Also power button selects the option but avoid it due to accidental turn offs.

Once you have CWM through ROM manager, who cares anyway? Yeh!
