i need help with dead xda2i

i tried to update my xda2i rom and it is now dead i am running windows vista. the screen shows usb v1.01 i have read elswhere that all is not lost and some people have suggested trying to install rom again on a pc running windows xp i have tried this without success when i run the upgrade program it shows a communication error 101 i would really appreciate any help or suggestions

If screen shows USB 1.01, it means that your mobile is not completely dead. Worse case when it shows Serial.
Go to Windows XP and install ActiveSync 3.7(only 3.7, not later version) and try to flash again.
Don't worry, I think it will be ok.

man im really thnx to you. i tryed to update wm6 on my xda2i(sorry i didnt know) and same ****... im in sama stuation vista ect ect.... the worst thing is i tried on my dads phone he didnt understand what is going on(thnx god) and by the way really thnx to server too

Ok this is not the point, I restar my PDA and stop´s I take out the battery and when I tray again dont do anything I plugin in my PC and dont dettect any light or system ... WHAT CAN I DO? HELLLLLLLP ME!

I've just been given an xda 2i but there is no OS on it at all..just the serial screen, i've tried to hard reset but it just goes back to serial..i think i may need to put a new 2003se onto it but cannot find one anywhere, can anybody help?

you obviously canot read old post or anything relating to the forum, if you care to actually look there is a post in the forum about the update, and a link in the post to download the OS.
pls try looking before asking daft questions.

It took longer for you to hijack this thread than it would have to check another thread. That would have been much faster to read than signing up to the forum and asking the same old questions.
its very annoying when someone asks a question that been asked a thousand times, I am a mod (not here) in a few pc based forums, you know how long we have to spend removing threads or answering the same olds which have been asked time and time again, even though there are forum search engines, stickies or other posts answering them?
To be honest its you who needs to learn how to use a forum. And READ the forum rules. just like the hundreds of other users out there that never bother.
fyi: I am a second chef in a restaurant and work 36 hours a week. I also run a small pc repair business in my spare time, I just happen to love my xda2 and xad2i, so frequent these forums. Odd really shame I cannot get out of my bedroom and getting a "sh*g"? Well not as often as I would like, but I do manage. And its not nice making this a personal slur, as I was only pointing out your ineptitude about the use and etiquette of the net and forums.
p.s. if you would care to actually read my post as well, i never called you anything, it was the guy that poseted before you that tried to update to wm5/6. that "idiot noob self" must be somthing you get called alot (thats a personnel dig, as i like to leave things even)

HELp !!
My XDa2I has today started randam resets , 7 times thus far !
I changed the battery with no success and it has just settled down at last .
Each reset showed the serial numbers at the bottom of the screen .
Does that indicate something ??

Problems with Skype.

Hi everyone I'm new with WM, before I had only Symbian. I have ATT Tilt which I've unlocked and updated to Kaiser firmware, with help of this forum. Before Skype worked perfect for me, I had WM6 pro, but now when I've upgraded to WM6.1 it wont work, during loading message appears: Failed to load file. I've tried to reinstall it for few times... no help. Maybe somebody knows any solution for that problem. Thanks.

Seriously, does ANYONE read anything around here before they jump into a new ROM? Would you jump into a pool BEFORE looking to see if any water was in it? How many threads have people already posted and said "NOT ALL APPLICATIONS ARE WORKING ON 6.1" Start reading, read some more, THEN post a relevant question.

Downgrade back to WM6? Though I think I read somewhere that once you upgrade, you can't go back. There was a thread where people were finding problems with their phones after they went back to 6 that going back to 6.1 again didn't solve.
I remember when Vista first came out and the reports of programs failing left, right and centre. That's one of the main reasons I'm not bothering to upgrade until the compatability issues are resolved...

Is there any alternative program, that is also works with Skype network? I know Fring, but it's not so good. Maybe there are others?

QTEK 9100 - Stuck at loading screen + Sync doesn't work

I've got this QTEK 9100 for a while now. But some days ago it stopped working. When i power it on i get to the "Windows Mobile loading screen" where the "wheel" starts turning around, but it stops after a few seconds.
I thought the ROM was damaged and tried to flash it. But my problem is, that when i go to the Bootloader screen (RGB screen) i can't make it sync with my PC. I've got a Vista Ultimate and i have no problems with detecting my QTEK 9100, but i can't establish a synchronization with it using Windows Mobile Device Center. Have anyone got any experience with this or know a program, that synchronizes easier? I would really appreciate it if possible.

Your problem is Vista....you need to get ahold of an XP machine, and you should then be able to update,.

Always read and search the forum regarding your problem,this problem has been posted hundreds of times and advised that WinXP is highly recommended.Vista is still not fully compatible and has problems.
There was no need to start a new thread for this particular problem.

I am so sorry for this thread, i should have searched more before posting. I have to admit that i am a real NOOB on forums. But it seems i got it working when i searched a bit more and found a solution to my problem.
I ended up using ROMUpdateUtility on my wizard without having ActiveSync established in any way.

An emulator that allows you to run many OS in ONE??? thats why you can... i never seen this ok ok ok.... in LINUX I saw it but not in WIN Vista and you are Runing too Ubuntu!!!!

Snapvue full screen

Hey, is there any possibility to get a full screen windows mobile for shift??? If the answer is no, why? Why HTC didn't make it full screen???

There is many questions for the company:
why it is snapvue and not windows Mobile?
why it is vista and not wind 7, why the did not make drivers for it?
why the vista can not see snapvue without sync?
why the snapvue can not see the SD card?
there is no answer, we are waiting for the genus of this site to help.

Q1 - It is windows mobile, only named snapvue perhaps because of the limited functionalities.
Q2 - It is vista because there was no Windows 7 when Shift was made, nothing stops you updating to windows 7...Like I did. and there are drivers for it.
Q4 - Read the forum...this question is about 2 years late.
Q5 - Again, tons of posts on this, read the Shift forum.
Q6 - We have waited for the genius for many years now, they have tried enabling GPS, liberating Snapvue and also enabling phone calls in snap vue... I believe no one is willing to spend too much time on it again, afterall the HTC is not even looking in its direction again. But I am still keeping mine though.

[Q] Connecting Kies

Hi,
I recently purchased a Galaxy S, but I can't seem to connect to Kies. I've looked into the problem and found this thread.
"[Drivers] MS Windows x86 and x64 USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S" by |OP|
Tried updating using both files, but it keeps saying that my existing drivers are already more up to date.
I've also seen some stuff about reinstalling Windows Media Player 11, but I'm a bit leery about doing that.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Any thoughts?

I'm having the same problem. MTS drivers always fail to install. This is really frustrating. I've searched all over the web for an answer but nothing seems to work.

There are several threads on this subject already. starting a new thread will not bring new info. use the search button and read through the threads. you will probably learn about a bunch of other things while you are at it. When I couldn't connect that's how I found a solution.
