Hi All,
Firstly, apologies if this is a duplicate thread, but i couldnt find the right answer after searching a lot...
I want to select all contacts in my contact list and send them via bluetooth/beam to my second handset (both windows based). But i cant seem to find a way to select all contacts and send them. SIM manager has the select all option in the menu but cant find the same in the phone cotact list.
Pleeeease help!
Maverick
In the contacts window, pop-up the standard keyboard (the black and white one) and hit Ctrl+A (like on a computer) and it should highlight all of them. As for sending them, I don't know if it will work.

Hi all,
This is very strange!
1) on the contact tab the all contact option does not work
2) I can see only the favorites contacts
3) I can insert only 15 favorites contacts
4) to go to a contact i need to browse all contacts till that one (there is no alphabetic shortcuts
5) there isn't any find/search option.
I'm a newbie so can some one tell me if it's the original stings or i did something, is there anything I can do ?
regards
Tal
1) on the contact tab the all contact option does not work
Click on all people soft key on the left side and you will see all contacts just the same way yo reached it in point no.4
2) I can see only the favorites contacts
The same answer like #1
3) I can insert only 15 favorites contacts
Yes thats true
4) to go to a contact i need to browse all contacts till that one (there is no alphabetic shortcuts
Alphabetic shortcuts appears in the right side of contacts dont us see it?
5) there isn't any find/search option.
Yes there is... on the top of contacts there is a filed you can click on it to enter the name or first characters of the name you are searching for and the keyboard will appear automatically to let you write
If you are looking for someway to find names to call I think smart dial will be a good way for you .. just open the phone and start writing the first characters or numbers and it will show you the appropriate names / numbers by searching in all contacts and call history

the TF3D has only place for 15 contacts and if u want more then it takes you to the normal contacts of the phone itself and HTC has its own alphabetical order and the search option is above the contacts page. and u can use alphabetical letters right side of the contacts page .In TF3D itself there is no option to search for contacts or to see all contacts there that would have been very handy if they had integrated the contacts program directly into the TF3D but its not !! maybe next relaese over the coming years !!
1. Nothing happens when i click all people soft key on the down left side
4. Nothing on the right hand side (no alphabetical short cuts)
5. there is no filed to search
Maybe there is a way to activate it from the registry ?
My rom is 1.93.456.2 wwe
Regards,
Tal
The same like my rom
I think there is some problem happened while you update the rom ... becase this is an error .. did you try to hard reset?
Did you install language pack ? For example czech sunnysoft language pack do this - if you install it, it cannot be possible to open contacts
I installed the P.D.A.C Hebrew language.
Is it possible to correct it via the registry ?
PLZ,
Can any1 help me i can't see all my contact just the favorites ones.
need an expert!!

Tal
Hi!
I'm quite desperate. I'd like to start SMS on my Kaiser with one or two clicks. So please recommend me how to make my SMS box the default message box (I'm not using MMS, who does anyway... I mean SMS are so much more popular) and/or direct "Compose a new SMS" or so. I also use HTC Home. Ideally I'd like to add a button in HTC Home which would directly open a new SMS (not MMS).
And yes, I did use Google "site:forum.xda-developers.com Kaiser SMS" + various combinations of words "default", "folder", "quick", "fast", "button", "MMS"...
I also tried several registry and other things tweakers.
Thanks
Btw, if you could recommend an application for quick taking notes, something like primitive drawing or so... PhatPad maybe?
um htc home (with the big clock) has it with one click..
I don't really understand your request, but this might be what your after? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
EDIT:
Also,
When viewing your SMS's do: Menu, Tools, Options and Untick "Display account picker when opening Messaging".

Try installing HTC action screen. It will map the left softkey to be able to create new mms/sms/email/apointment/contact, all with one click of the button. That might be what you're looking for.
Hi,
I am also quite desperate for this. I will try to explain what is that we are after.
When composing a new SMS message we need to follow the following steps.
1. Go to Messaging Application
2. Select SMS \ MMS
3. Click on Menu
4. Click on New
5. Now we need to select SMS from the list that shows MMS / SMS / Voicemail.
Now here is the problem, we would like to have SMS as the first option if possible (It helps save the click I need to do, if I am using the D-Pad), Alternatively, a direct link to just start composing a new SMS message directly without going through multiple menus.
Thanks
Manik
Hi,
I missed the link of my previous post (#3). Sorry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
The link was to a CAB to create a "New SMS" link on the left or Right soft key.

wow, from the main screen I tap 4 times with my finger and I'm good to go. That really isn't that much work.

Well, I click on the the envelope icon (1), then I have to click on "Menu" (2), "Go To" (3), "Text meddages" (4), "Menu" (5), "New" (6). This makes SIX clicks.
for me,
Envelope, menu, new, and sms..
Done.
After clicking the envelope, if it opens to email press the 5 way to the right and it will bring up SMS.

hi there. great stuff this iSkoot.
got it going on a samsung i780 and a htc diamond
however
i sign in ok, i can see contacts, i can even call a contact on the list (the first one)
but but
i cannot scroll through the contacts, neither can i select the one after the first.
i can change tabs from the main to the status icon, but the chat icon doesnt appear bottom right, have to click on the individual and start chat again for it to go into that.
once ive started a chat with someone, then close it to return to main window, i cannot scroll through contacts anymore...
but im pretty restricted to the not scrolling so i cant test more.
any ideas i would be so grateful, this is a super piece of kit, and it would be a shame not to be able to use it...
The best would be to address this with the iSkoot developers directly.
hey there,
i just recently update my att tilt to a new rom that was generously created by someone here. what i notice is the text messaging function lost one thing that i would like back. on the old default rom, if i was to start typing in the name of the person i am trying to send a message, the contact would list a few ppl that would be my possible choice. as of right now i have to go to menu and add reciept and i think that just takes to long. any cabs out there to fix this?
thanks in advance
try this
i had that same problem, but i found out that if i type the name and just hit space, it will show up at the bottom and you can select from a single-line menu and use the left and right d-pad buttons to select your contact without going through the hassle of adding a recipient and all that...
hopefully that helps?
wow that did the trick!
Sorry for this basis request - but how do I cut and paste text from a website/doco/email etc etc and paste them between SMS and emails etc?
Have read the manual and tried touch and hold, drag to highlight etc and nothing seems to work
Thanks
Google search found this:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...+copy+paste+Galaxy+S&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au
But it only applies to copying text from a webpage - nothing about copying from one email/SMS to another??
Surely it must be possible - iPhones can do it dammit
I don't see any select text feature on the built in email & gmail app.. but for SMS, there is a "Copy Text" feature and if you want to select a text, forward the message first then "Select Text".
cut /paste from other sources, for example a browser , is being added in android 2.2 . thts so far what i know
I got Froyo on the SGS, so I've no idea what here is new and what was already there on 2.1.
1) Browser - long touch anywhere on the page opens a small box that you can drag to surround what you need, and then you got copy/share/search.
2) SMS - inside a message - menu > 'copy message text'.
3) GMAIL app - inside a mail - Menu > more > select text. You drag to select and it's copied to the clipboard (no share/search/etc, only directly copying to clipboard).
4) A long touch on any input box brings up a select/copy/paste/cut/etc context menu.
I'm still trying to find a way to copy/paste from a gmail chat...
